Every IndyCar Win in 2002 (IRL)

The 2002 Indy Racing League, Year 7 of the split, saw the defection of Team Penske from CART to the IRL. Team Penske were immediately competitive, fighting against Sam Hornish Jr. and Panther Racing in a thrilling championship fight. Across the season were several close finishes as well as many fist-time winners, including 4 in a row in the summer. Ultimately, Sam Hornish Jr. would just barely edge out Helio Castroneves in the final race to score his 2nd straight championship. 2002 was the year that the IRL truly was without argument better than CART. You could make arguments about 2001 and kinda 1999.

One of my first seasons watching Indycar and went to my 1st 500 that year at 9 years old and then my home track Kansas Speedway where i met my favorite driver Helio Castroneves
