I played this Song to an disabled man, i Take Care of, He was stunned and really enjoyed this one. At the end He wiggled (danced) in His bed. Nice good night song. Thank you.
GoodSoundForYou XileF, wow, thank you! Those moments are really what music is all about and so inspiring to read you’re comment! It might be time for some more evolving good night songs soon.
I was going to send you a message to 'remind' you hehe that there're some people who would love to hear more of your music :) Brilliant, as always... can't wait for more! Take care!
Hi Mika, I'm so impressed by your music. I wonder how you did that because I like this style a lot. Are there any making of videos showing some technics from the sratch?
Hey Jens, I'm glad you like it! My music are often based on longer chord progressions that are being sequenced by Ableton. Its not really any technique but more about finding nice chords and sounds, and find a way how to interact with these. A good way of exploring chords are to program one really long bordun tone/note and play around with different chords you feel fits to the bordun. As an example if you have the note C as bordun following chords (could) work: Cm, C,C#MAJ, D7, D#MAJ, Em, F, Fm, F#b5, G11 ,G#, AM, A#m9, B7B9 etc. Next step are to find chords that fit nicely together and here I always try to find a good baseline between the chords. So this could for example end up in a four chord loop, containing following chords: G#, Fm, C, Cm/Eb.. Hope it not got to much theory..
Made By Pete everything are sequnced/arpeggiated from ableton, so it’s an random LFO(max for live), with slew, connected the to arpeggio-speed in ableton!
@@MikaForsling Thanks. Everything juicy in Ableton is from Max For Live! My Peak has slewed LFOs so I should be able to do it on that. Love your channel man.
really nice performance, and really want know your connect chains, since you have a lot of external effect, I want to know how you connect them with your voice, since I know the k-mixer can't do the send and return.
Hi He Feng and thank you! In this setup the Op-1 goes straight into the MOOD and Zoia and then to the K-mix. The K-mix actually have three stereo aux sends but no dedicated returns, so I’m using send 1&2 for reverb/delay which goes to a small sub mixer and back to K-mix as one stereo track..
culebrafabian The Big sky has more algorithms and is more versatile in my live-setup. It has a pretty nice and dirty spring reverb emulation I like to use as well. I love the sound of the bam though!
@@MikaForsling the big sky seem to be colder than the oto bam. I love the model 200 lexicon units that give more a 3D sound and you don't have to cut the bass frequencies. It always a pleasure to listen your musique. Thanks
culebrafabian I always tend to cut low frequencies of my reverbs to avoid mud, but interesting with the lexicon. I have to try it when I get the chance.
Hey Dylan! I have all my hardware synths on different channels in Ableton as "external instruments" and all my sequences are on different clips that I trigger from my K-mix(midi controller).. Since the OP-1 are connected by USB midi(bi directional) I can use it as a midi controller to my other synths, a stand alone synth, or triggered from my Ableton clips.
@@MikaForsling Haha! Cheers for the reply! I actually picked up a perfourmer a couple of days ago more or less because of your channel. It's way beyond what I'm used to. Or rather.. A different style.. Very unique and steep learning curve. Though I can't take my hands away from it. Last few days I have been feeling really odd after 8-10 hours on it. Ha ha! Such an amazing machine. Anyways, cheers for the insight. I've been using ableton also, but trying to break away from the screen as much as possible. I Dont know how you can use that OP1.. I'd need a pair of tweezers to turn the knobs. Ha ha. Cheers and take care.
For me, the most inspiring with new instruments are in the beginning when you don’t know anything what’s going on. As soon as you start to learn a instrument better you’ll start doing things you’re always doing, so take really good care of these moments of chaos because thats where the beauty hides.. Nice you’re having your own perfourmer!
@@MikaForsling I guess you are right. If we strive for something abstract, in learning the machine you become rhythmic. Perhaps I should record the times before I become rhythmic. Thanks for the continual inspiration. Those moments between me and the synth although some times can become intense. It is like a language between me and the world. Without sounding overly escoteric. Highly enjoyable. And thanks for making sounds as you do. Would be great to see an opening from you walking into the studio in the morning to the end. Much love from Scotland. Dylan.
So beautiful. Great job using all the synths at the same time. I noticed you didn't have headphones or monitors. So how were you able to listen in real time?
still one of my most favorite things I think I've ever heard

@@MikaForsling i Mika - thank you a lot for your explanation. I'll give it a try. Of course I feel it will be not as easy as reading :-)
u know from the 1st minute it's good.
really nice. which synth is playing the punchy bass chords from 2:06?
@@Rafaelfo. Hey, sorry late answer.. That is the DSI Tetra..
Amazing music. Can I ask what you're using to speed up and slow down those plucks. Are they coming from the Perfourmer?

Lovely! the modulated synth line at 4;44 comes from Moog?
Thanks, if its the bass you're preferring to, then yes!
This should have a million views!!😮😮😢
beautiful! do you think the minitaur still adds to the vermona (both capable of great bass I believe?)
Would love to see a video on how your gear is set up, through the op1 and ableton.. What are you using as the main trigger and what is the sequencer?

Whats the case you're using? Does it fit everything?
@josephpiper564 I am also curious about that case; did you ever find out?
So beautiful. Great job using all the synths at the same time. I noticed you didn't have headphones or monitors. So how were you able to listen in real time?
Thanks! It was a live setup so I had both two monitors on the floor and a whole sound system as well!
How do you go about controlling the perfourmer? What midi thing u got?
Andrew M, I’m sequencing everything from ableton!
The outro is Tetra, right?
Krzysztof Steplowski, the pad in the end are actually the OP-1, but the first pad/drone are on the Tetra so that would have made sense..
@@MikaForsling Thank you. It sounds amazing as always...One more question: which drum machine did you use in "Mingel" track?
concentrate more on composition and less on finding a hat that clashes with your jacket ....
Someone is jelly af 😂
