I think this sketch I quote most to this day. "They were chanting, they were prancing, they were singing Sting songs... there is only so much you can take of that". "We gave them warning shots.. above their kneecaps! You can't get a stronger warning than that", "You twist the story, you put facts in the story".
@PestPoisoner, exactly! I'm doing an assignment on him in uni, and my hypothesis is that he wouldn't have given in if it weren't for all the problems apartheid was getting them into.
well he did end apartied, to some degree, but on the other hand, as the Bisho massacre, which this sketch refers to, he presided over a murderous racist nation. 28 unarmed protesters were killed, one soldier was also killed but this was later proved to be from friendly fire. These were still awful times and aparteid was still alive and well when this sketch was made.
Mandela was jailed cause he was a convicted criminal. When he was released he was a fantastic man for South Africa. See, prison does work to reform criminals.
well they awarded the peace prize to Le Duc Tho and Henry Kissinger. So yes, they award the prize to people who have committed horrible atrrocities. But F.W was directly responsible for keeping the area of Bisho out of the deomcratic process, which spawned the protests and forces which were as murderous under his rule as any other, fired on the civilians.
