What amazes me so much with these old structures, is there still standing. 100s of years I the weather and no maintenance. You look at a structure now and they fall apart within a year. Lol. These videos are so amazing. Thanks for them!
Every cliff dwelling I've been to is a long walk in the middle of nowhere. So usually only real outdoor people visit. Most of us were taught leave a place better then you left it. If you brought it pack it out. That's my 2cents years after this was posted.
Thanks for the video, I really enjoyed it. The setting reminds me of the old, old, Saturday morning TV show "Land of the Lost". See any Sleestaks Chris? 😅🤣🎃✌
New subscriber, mud fossil showed u beautiful photography in Iceland as connected to some other that a volcanic eruption, it is magnificent and astounding, just like most of ur videos I am now viewing
Its amazing the rock formations and how nature carves these different shapes and the fact that ancients once lived there. Thanks Chris for showing us these sites!
I’m definitely no archaeologist, but I’ve always been interested in places / things such as this. But I wonder if the rooms with all the black soot on the roof was from them building fires to help dry out the mud they used to build the walls quicker even though that looks like a dry climate area. Very interesting video thanks for sharing!
Hi Chris, an absolutely outstanding location. Very convincing when you look quickly at the house on fire, it really does look like flames shooting out from the roof. Thank you for sharing, much love. xx 💖🤘
That is an amazing place for sure!! I can just imagine them in there cloth outfits like in the movies and hunting and cooking what they caught back in the day. Im in utah and have never been here before. Your exploring videos makes me want to explore more than I already do.
You might want to go to Southern Colorado between Cortez and Mancos Colorado to see Mesa Verde National park and Chaco Canyon National Park in New Mexico.
Those are some of the coolest places, when an ancient civilization lived there, and there is still so much left! Thanks for the video and be safe out there!
Fantastic video, so very interesting. Amazing markings on those rocks , it really does look like a house on fire. Thank you so much....Love your videos.
I sought out this location about 12 years ago to photograph the unusual "flames" in the overhead ledge. We came in on directions which had us hiking up the stream (dry) bed at the bottom (7:15), and the first time I walked right by it because this is on the ledge high above my march. He seems to have hiked a trail running laterally along the face of the ledge, which must be much easier going. He arrived at the wrong time of day. You need to be there when the sun is in mid-afternoon, beating down on the cliff which is south across the little canyon. That light reflects across the gorge and up into the rooms and overhead tucked back under the ledge. This illuminates the ceiling shown here, which glows in bright yellow and orange streaks (flames). Very impressive to see and photograph. Maybe directions have improved in the interim, but my directions were a bit vague, and the trailhead was not marked as such. There is a visitors' center about 1/4 miles west along the highway, where directions can be clarified, if it is open.
You need to check out sewanee natural bridge formation in sewanee TN. My dad lived in the area below there of Sherwood TN as a kid and got lost in the mine. But that is really cool though 👍.
Thank you so much for showing this I'll probably never go over there I'm living in Oklahoma right now but those pictures and video you have are awesome I appreciate it and it is breathtaking
Similar in design. Cliff/cave dwellings in southern Utah. Check out : Valley of the Gods - AZ. West of Red Mesa, AZ. Also, New Mexico, Aztec / Bloomfield circular ruins. It looks like they built condos about 900 years ago - huh, why not. . . .
Wow southern Utah, it seems you're not too far away from where I live. Hoping to meet you. There's a lot of monuments on the Navajo and Ute Reservation. Great find.
@@MobileInstinct2 You (this) conviced me, I'm going. Ended up in SLC once and was impressed, so Utah huh? Forced into early retirement this unforgettable year of C-19, not so happy and very bored, BUT you have this video that captured the visual fire impression and inspired me. I have a purpose now, and I'm going to follow your lead and join the adventure. Well done. Thank you Chris!!
A granary is a storehouse or room for threshed grain or animal feed. Ancient or primitive granaries are most often made out of pottery, or in this case, from the surrounding rocks. Granaries are often built above the ground to keep the stored food away from mice and other animals and from floods. I often wonder how much of the artifact is original or rebuilt over time.
This dwelling is actually in Bears Ears National Monument. That could be one reason it is still so clean.
Thank you for taking me to such beautiful places, I’m in constant pain & walking around is just a nightmare. Thank you for doing all the walking x

These videos are so amazing. Thanks for them!
I'm really surprised how clean it is, no Trash or Graffiti. But what a really neat location, If Stones could talk huh?.
This is kind of away from the normal tourist destinations and also much lesser known which definitely helps.
my thought too. where is all the filth, tents, and pink haired commies? i guess free shit, is just to far away..

I love ancient Pueblo houses, I once camped at Chaco Canyon in NM, so many amazing ruins there!
I am from New Mexico- Thanks! It is beautiful
Channels like this are why cable will never be better than UA-cam. Love your content!
Thanks to people like you, I get to see things that I would have never known that it exists. I enjoy watching stuff like that
I'm still amazed that there's only 8k subs on this channel, it's the BEST travel channel on or off the net.
This isnt his main channel though...Its his backup channel. That's probably why he has only 8,000 subs. He has close to 200,000 on his main channel.

You are a real wanderer. I get the impression that this is what you do every single day and I have so many questions.
Yes at 1:39, likely that whole area has flooded at one point up to the top of the land on the sides, which is how those pockets were worn away.
Low key, easy going guy explores interesting places - thanks
Rattle snake country!! Amazing vandals have not gotten to the area. Thankfully....Nice video thanks for your work!!
Id love to be there...gorgeous! Thank you!!!!
Fyi...every angle caught the fire look....no worries!

Haha that was a good show!
That boulder that is hanging down looks like a reptile's head. Cool Place!!!
Enjoyed the quick tour. Life wasn't as easy back then, people complain to much these days.

Definitely ruminants from past fire. What a great place. Ancient people were very good at surviving and thriving.
Very cool

If you haven't been, Montezuma Castle and Walnut Canyon National Monument in Arizona are amazing as well. That rock really does look like fire!
I was there a few years ago before I was making videos. It's a really beautiful place
I am willing to say the erosion is mostly from water sometime in the past

I've been to the Four Corners at still haven't set foot in Utah. You'll probably be kidnapped by a religious sect or robbed by the beehive patrol.

Cool!!! How far from Mesa Verde??? Looks similar😎😎😎
The two dislikes are from people, that don't enjoy beautiful things.
They are definitely miserable people
There’s always one…you can count on it!
Also people with no interest in history or curiosity about an ancient culture.

You can see the flame effects.
Funny, I've lived in TWO house on fires.
I liked to play with matches when I was a kid.
@ 9:07 is that a hand print on the wall behind you or just a trick of the light?
It does look like a handprint. Interesting.

Whats the weather like in Utah Chris?
70s and sunny!
Northern Utah has been very cold the last several days with snow in the valleys over the weekend.
Who were they hiding from?
How many rattlers did you encounter?
Anasazi cliff dwellers?
