I love your tutorials. They are not preachy and I really feel that you are just carrying out a conversation and you give so many options for products, drugstore and high end.
Thank u for the tips! Best price for Lumify is at Costco for $28 for 2 large bottles. I use a color corrector as first spot application to hyperpigmentation and my eye “trough” area to minimize gray appearance thru my foundation (or eye concealer) . I also moisturize the heck out of my under eyes (Wayne gods rec) before corrector/concealer to make them appear plump. I also only line the outer 1/3 of lower lash line. That way it doesn’t draw attn to my fine lines but still opens up the look. I use a steel gray or brown color, avoiding heavy look of black
Thank you for giving the different options in your videos. You’re so pretty and have such great skin you don’t even need makeup. I hope you’re having a great weekend. See ya next time!
Hello! I hope you had an awesome day! I attended 2 virtual sew dates and now I'm tired. I hand quilting while I watch you. I just want you to know that I very much enjoy the content on your channel. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead! Thank you for posting this video and for your expertise.
Hi Lisa, thank you for all of these great tips. My takeaway from this video is to spend more time on my spot concealing and less time trying to conceal with foundation. That flat look is aging. Hope you are enjoying the weekend!
Hi Lisa, I’m 61 years old so for me if I wear shimmer on my lids as much as I wish I still could, it really ages me. I love the makeup my Mario eyeliner you got me started on and I have to say I love the attached brush because my eyelids have so many little age bumps now I can’t draw a straight line with any liner so it’s nice to use the brush to smudge the line so it’s not too drastic as you suggested in an earlier video. What I wish you would do is an all clean makeup line for those of us who are conscious of cancer causing ingredients as we age. Thank you for the consideration. I’ve been using hourglass vanish for stick foundation and their face primer is amazing, I also just found Nudestix brand lip pencils which are super soft and apply easily. I’ve never lined my lips till now and what a difference that makes so thank you for that helpful hint. My lips have always been pencil thin so it’s nice to finally have form and shape by using pencil.
Thank you for this great video! I have hyperpigmentation spots and you gave tips about the shade of full coverage concealer to select and the best way to apply it. I have watched many makeup videos trying to find this information. I am excited to try this.
Hi Lisa, I can't believe I’ve only just found your lovely channel, but I'm so glad I have. I love the way you talk to us, you are so honest & natural. I have only watched a couple of your videos so far ( I will certainly be going back & watching as many of your previous videos as I can ) but I have already learnt a lot. I have been wearing heavy makeup since the age of 15 because I blush deep red very easily & have always been very embarrassed by this. Now I'm 52 I can cope better with this so want to wear lighter makeup, especially as I have some eye wrinkles now. Your tutorials are so informative & useful & I love that you are concentrating on make-up for my age group. The detail you go into is just what I need & so helpful. Thank you for making these videos, I'm so glad I've found your channel. Have a great week, lots of love Rachel UK.
Such awesome info. Pushing products in works so well. Especially when your SPF gives you a tacky base. I actually set my face a lot of the time using a flat brush and press it in.
I so enjoy these types of videos and learn so much. Trish McEvoy has a brightening pen in the color shell, which is a pinky peach color. It's great for the lower water line, great as a brow highlight and can be used to brighten the inner corner!
When I started using Lumify people began commenting on my "beautiful eyes" daily. I'm 55 years old and have never received comments on my eyes 😳 The difference is astonishing and I'll never be without it now!
Thank you for this video. Your style is very friendly, like you are sharing tips with a sister ir best friend. I love Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser treatment makeup. I have found the perfect shade for me so I don't even need to apply it to every little area of my face. It is light, has SPF 18 and looks really natural. I have bought more expensive foundations that look cakey and heavy. This is affordable and provides enough coverage and correction. Also love their Eraser multiuse concealer.
Thank you very much for the great tips. I am one of the women you referred to - having been recommended at Sephora the IT CC 50+ foundation. I bought it and when I tried it on, I realized that it makes me look even older than my actual age! I decided to keep it and only use it for activities “around home” like walking my dog, gardening or swimming. Great tips.
Every time I’m in there, which is actually quite a lot, and there’s someone asking for foundation that’s what they always recommend. I want to pitch in but I feel like it’s not my place 😂😂😂
You're right. Every time I walk into Sephora, that's exactly what they recommend 😒 as if that's the only foundation mature women can wear. However, last week I walked into an Ulta, to my surprise representative offered me Pur 4 in 1 tinted moisturizer, I love it. It doesn't accentuate fine lines, nor does it amplifies my pores. No cackieness. Thank you Ulta🥰
Lisa, now that was PRETY COOL INDEED!! After you got finished with that concealer on your face, I felt you didn't even need foundation! I prefer a, slightly darker foundation on me, but wonder if I've been adding a few years by doing that---bc the light and bright look you achieved made your face look so fresh and skin so good!!👌Loving it!!❣😚🤹♀️🌴
I go back and forth on lighter or darker foundation too because I don’t like seeing pics with that white ghostly face…but if it oxidizes at all, you don’t want it going even darker if you start out slightly dark!
I love your education and passion.right you are right now leaving a huge amount of women, there are a endless amounts of women who Have brown or black skin . They have had have been uninvited
Lisa, I LOVE the Loreal French Biscuit eyeshadow quad and Loreal Age Perfect radiant satin blush in Mauved. I have the blush shade Rosewood too. Thanks for the recommendations.
Good suggestion for eye drops Lisa , my eyes are always red . I use colour corrector , hard to get a good one . I’m going back to tinted moisturisers or BB creams , looking now for a nice one xxx
Thank you Lisa for sharing this information with us. At 57, I am lucky enough not to need anything under the eye to darken or lighten but certainly everything else is much needed help. Regards Murdina🏴
Hello again Lisa. Great tutorial! I don't like that matte/flat foundation look all the stores seem to be pushing. I see young ladies on the tube (sorry for the "Brit-speak"! I live in the UK!) wearing ultra thick makeup all the time. I used to do that when I was their age because i didn't appreciate my skin the way I do now and I am just SO over that caked-on look! I'm going to check out Lumify to see if it's available here in the UK. Also going to invest in some better coverage concealers, as i have pretty pervasive dark circles that are hereditary. I minimised them by giving up gluten and dairy but they still come out to play if I'm tired or in hot weather. Thank you also for such a friendly and conversational approach to your makeup secrets!
I've experienced the same thing in Sephora and Ulta. Personally, the cc is WAY too heavy! It's the "go to" for employees simply because of product's name can be easily sold to anyone any skin type! ❤ You have beautiful skin and great knowledge. And absolutely NEVER let anyone tell you what to do! Do what works for you and what works for others, that's great too! Loving your channel! ❤
It was from Amazon but has been discontinued and I couldn't find something similar...actually I did see one similar and it was over $60! I think I paid $35....
Just wanted to ask have you tried the age perfect balm as a concealer, I use light 10 then 20 as foundation just love it. What colour peach concealer or corrector do you use, I use pixie and smashbox Becca are good. I also love the Maybelline brightener concealer it's thin but love it.
I use Refresh eye drops daily for dryness. I tried the Lumify about a year ago for whitening but it gave me eyeball pain. Apparently that happens with some people🤷♀️. Also, I recently got a little hand held battery operated fan to help speed up the dry down process between skincare/makeup applications instead of waving my hands on my face 😁
Great tutorial. Love your videos. Thanks 😊 What tinted serum would you recommend me. I live in Miami, hot and humid, my skin can get shiny on the T zone and dryer on the rest of the face. I don’t think I need too much coverage. I like to use Teint Idole concealer from Lancôme to cover few dark sports and for my under eye, which are dark.
Have you tried Wet n Wild’s tinted hydrator? It’s nice light weight coverage with natural finish. The L’Oréal tinted serum is a favorite too. For mid range, I’m always going to recommend Charlotte Tilburys Light Wonder. It’s the most beautiful coverage and finish without being dewy like other tinted moisturizers.
I wonder if you could speak to the pores that get larger and larger as we age and the skin pulls down. Everything leaves little dots everywhere, nose, chin, between eyebrows etc . Is thear some kind of base to use before whatever is used for coverage? thank you
There are primers that help “fill in” the pores like the elf putty primer. But usually to make them less visible you need to really buff in the foundation with a brush so it actually gets into the pores so you don’t have these dark circles where the pores are. As far as reducing the size I found niacinimide did well at reducing the size of my pores, though it doesn’t make them look like they did when we were younger.
I have only have had experience of doing make up over old tattoo make up and the discoloration was not good so I would be hesitant to recommend it because I don’t know what the tattoo color would look like in 5 to 7 years.
I got the Wet n Wild Tinted Hydrator bare focus for such a low price, has a little hyaluronic acid in it, dont see a color on it, just 1/10 1 M so I spose that means Medium - I love it, it covers almost like a foundation but is super light. I never use matte lipsticks, those look really pretty on you. Lord knows I have way too many lipsticks tho lol. Mascara, hmm, I hear so much about this and that great brand, I'm just sticking w/my L' Oreal even tho the whole line of mascaras is being sued, sigh, the Butterfly & Lash Paradise for now til they run out. IT Cosmetics and I have never gotten along, no idea why, and I am not fond of Maybelline mascaras. What's a girl to do lol? Thx Lisa, happy weekend, love you, be blessed! ❤💛💙💜💛 ~~Chanel
@@LisaMonique Yes I really like it. I commnted here earlier, now I cant leave a commemt anywhere, twerted it. You having the same problem by any chance? Did YT get rid of comments? I'm po'd, that's no good. Did I hit something wrong, I didnt go into YT settings at all or the settings of my laptop. Grr.
The foundation/concealer only in the middle of face for redness can backfire in a cold climate because when you go outside the redness in your skin will diminish and your makeup will look odd.
Maybe, though if it's a good color match, it shouldn't matter. I do this all the time just to "freshen up" my face and am not covering any redness, more just to even out skin tone, my nose tends to be darker.
Great tips and information. Lisa, check out Dr. Rajani video on eyelash serums. I remembered that you stopped using yours( i think) and his sounds really great. Anyway, have a great evening.
My problem - I’ve tried dozens of concealers and color correctors under my eyes, and used different applicators, but they all get into my fine lines & wrinkles & make me look wrinkly and old. The only thing that works is to keep the concealer on my inner eyes next to my nose & avoid the under eye area all-together. Do you have any tips or tricks for this?
I think I can just happen, I love Wayne Goss and he pretty much says the same, all products can move into lines but sometimes too many products cause the products to move too much. Have you tried just moisturizing to plump and then a light concealer. Or no concealer just foundation?
@@LisaMonique Yes I have sort of settled on using just moisturizer plus foundation, with a few dots of concealer on the inner eye, and I tap the concealer towards my dark circles. It improves the darkness, but definitely doesn’t get rid of under-eye problems. Have you ever tried filler in the tear troughs? I heard it works for under-eyes like mine (purplish hollows), but it is expensive and a little scary.
I love your tutorials. They are not preachy and I really feel that you are just carrying out a conversation and you give so many options for products, drugstore and high end.

This one was the matte/regular but I own the dewy in another shade and don’t notice a difference really…Neither to too flat and drying or too glowy!

Hi Lisa. I was wondering what your thoughts are about tattooing eye liner? I’m sorry if you’ve addressed this before and I missed it.
I have only have had experience of doing make up over old tattoo make up and the discoloration was not good so I would be hesitant to recommend it because I don’t know what the tattoo color would look like in 5 to 7 years.

I love Lumify! I call it my "eye bleach" lol 😆🤣 (My eyes aren't bright white anymore either.)
My under eyes and lids are red. Would that be considered purple? I've always been curious.❤❤
