Awww!!! I am so excited Darren Alan made it to your Discoveries and for the shout out...I cannot wait for your full review! Yeah Darren really blew my head off my shoulders when I smelled his work for the 1st time! I think he is some kind of hidden master - Like a Kung Fu master that lives alone on a mountain in rural China...Just living his life and perfecting his craft. Like you have to seek him out to find him. I loved when you said a part of the reason you were slow to make spotlight videos etc. was because of your Parrots!!! I loved this review - You always make me smile - xoxo
Wowser. My Darren Alan discovery set just arrived this morning, and I'm FLOORED. No joke, no exaggeration - this stuff is absolutely transporting. As of this moment, I'm loving Sacred Smoke, but Vintage Novel is just something else. I can't stop breathing it in, it's so mesmerizing. It's simultaneously familiar and exotic; round and voluptuous and changeable . . . I usually hate it when people wax all poetic and pretentious when describing scents, but this one is just KILLING IT. Thank you so much, Mr Ouch! We'd never find exciting little houses like this without you. :)
Hello Thomas, sorry Ihavent been around but its been a bit hectic in my family! Anyway, I recently took a trip to a upstate NY town called Hudson ( I live in NY an hour outside of the city) I found this incredible perfume in this amazing boutique called Tuberose Tantra from Kismet Olfactive supposedly the perfumer gets the ingredients and spices from Istanbul OH MY you must try this brand! The offerings are amazing and what I can tell you will like this house.
Hi Tom, after your video where you smelled Darren Alan perfumes, I went straight to etsy to search for his shop and ordered some samples. I agree, this perfumer is gifted. He is so friendly and generous as well. I asked him a lot of questions and he answered them all. He told me he even distills his own orris. He told me he did a lot of training (years as I recall) on chypres and that is my favorite category. His perfumes are very potent which is so refreshing after so many perfumes that just do not last on my skin. They are rich and very complex to my nose. I am still going through my samples but there isn't a bad one in the bunch for me. I would love to watch you do a review on the fragrances you have of his! oxJulia
Love this, Tom! I am NOT a sweet fragrance either. Love the florals, why do they have to be dumped in sweetness? This series is wonderful. Many thanks!
Rosé All Daé, parfume without rose almost, but OMG it is beautiful composition. Like apple pie with cinnamon , I love it. It is stay on my skin more then 12 hours. One of my biggest, nice surprise 2022❤️
Thank you for speaking against the white flower+sweet type of fragrances lol cuz I don’t like them either(except for Alien and Lush’s Lust). Especially when the flower part is milky and kind of fruity. That smells incredibly synthetic to me.
Regarding the white floral with Vanilla - I recently tried Perdizione by Nobile 1942, that one actually transitions from a sheer white floral to a tasty vanilla without having the florals smothered with vanilla. It was an interesting take on a rather abhorrent sounding idea.
I own several Serge scents but DeProfundis is my only bell jar. It is a gorgeous scent. It reminds me of the smell that I get when walking into a florist shop. It's very dewy and green yet still has sweetness. I need to get samples from Darren Alan. I wouldn"t have heard of him if not for your review. Love this review format!
Rose all Dae is beautiful, but I can only wear it on the most frigid days as it is so strong and sweet on me. It also smells boozy, like a fermenting apple drink sometimes, but not in an unpleasant way. I'll never be able to finish my bottle because I have to wear it so sparingly, but it's definitely special :-) Looking forward to hearing how it plays out for you as you get to test it more!
Hi Tom! Another super interesting video and such accurate descriptions. Unfortunately, I guess I won't get to smell De Profundis:( All the same I do enjoy these scents I can't smell in my country, vicariously. Thank you!
Another great video, Thomas! Wearing Guerlain Joyeuse Tubéreuse - I like certain vanilla laden white floral perfumes, but I enjoyed your talk on being done with them. We all have our preferences, and that's OK! I agree that Fox in the Flowerbed comes off as a soliflore, and it's fresh and lovely. The bottle art is gorgeous and uplifting. Rose All Day is in a league of its own, it should be too much of everything, but it manages to be lusciously just .right.
Thanks Tom. I love these 5 D&D videos. Glad to know about Darren Alan. His "After the Rain" sounds interesting as I love wet soil accords. (Undergrowth from Rook is still my favorite for that.) Soon I should receive samples of all the new perfumes from Jorum Studios -- exciting!
Have you tried Back to Black by by Killian? :) this one you may like more. But you are right about the sweet style of this brand- I do like it for it- and because they are not molecular. In fact Love extreme reminded me of Turkish delight type perfumes- like Sweet Oriental Dream. Darren Alan sounds very much worth exploring!
Hi Tom. New subscriber here. I recently discovered your channel while searching for some Zoologist perfume reviews. So glad i found you. You are now my favorite reviewer. Please keep up the great work. Definitely will try some Darren Allen perfumes.
Yuzu is a few seconds of citrus then is just a soft mimosa to my nose, totally misnamed and overpriced. Just tried Fox in the Flowerbed, really nice airy jasmine. 👍
Wait!?? Fox in a Flowerbed isn’t new. I bought a discovery set from Imaginary Authors 2 or 3 years ago (Newsflash: I despised 90%of their fragrances. They were not just bad but FOUL.) and Fox was available at the time I ordered.
I think the only Killian that I liked was Straight to Heaven. I really don’t care for the way many of them wear. On me they are very flat, almost like an oil or something. Not a fan.
I am with you. J. M. Doesn’t do anything for me either. Acqua di Parma lasts for an hour and gone…. And the Ghost in the shell, try the whore at the door 🚪 lol 😂 much nicer…
Velvet Haze by Byredo. Big disappointment. Huge. Masculine end note --- that vaguely antiseptic male cologne smell at the end and even a bit throughout. A $200.00 blind buy. Silly me.

Found the Darren Allen shop on Etsy.. ordered the sacred smoke....thanks from a park in S.London

I love The Ghost in The Shell smell, it lasts a long time on my skin but the problem is that the sillage is meeeeeeh ...

Liaisons dangereuses by kilian I had a sample some years ago and loved! it. Must try it again and see if it’s as good as I remember.
Fox in the Flowerbed is my ride or die. I just wish it actually lasted. It’s phenomenal. I wish I could find similar perfumes.

Nag Champa, you say?? I am running to Darren's shop!
Things are looking extra sparkly at your place✨✨✨
Have a great fun day!
I love By Kilian. I love many kinds but sweet perfumes drive me crazy. Love by Kilian makes me feel so good.
I love you so so much! You are a real sunshine...thank you for being this way... ☀️☀️☀️

Great review and i enjoy watching you great seeing you again greetings from the Netherlands
I love your jumper.

Oooo, а new earring)
AdP's Yuzu was a no for me too. 😞
Love the truth you say
Wait!?? Fox in a Flowerbed isn’t new. I bought a discovery set from Imaginary Authors 2 or 3 years ago (Newsflash: I despised 90%of their fragrances. They were not just bad but FOUL.) and Fox was available at the time I ordered.
Acqua Di Parma is not what it used to be. Lots of their last releases are mediocre at best.
Such a great video! 😊✌️
I really tried to like ANYTHING by Bye Kilian~
Maybe it's the Yuzu in Ghost in the shell that turned you off?
Jon is fighting the good fight. 😄
I think the only Killian that I liked was Straight to Heaven. I really don’t care for the way many of them wear. On me they are very flat, almost like an oil or something. Not a fan.

For me Jo Malone is trash. Nothing lasts from them.

I stay well away from jo Malone money for old rope. I think their market are menopausal affluent parish village chairwomen.
You should not speak about women like that...This is very rude.
@@elisabeth400 explain please
Are you daft? You’re comment was meant to degrade women.
