I’ve switched to Sonubaits a couple of years ago from Sensas.
River black is devastating in clear rivers like the Avon.

Some great logical advice. Makes a lot of sense. Thank you.
I'm keen to understand what effect the protein content of each grounbait has on our fishing.
Do we need to consider the protein content when selecting our groundbait?
    What do you think?
Big thank you to the Sonubaits team.

      Hi Dave,
The protein content is almost always in direct correlation with fishmeal content (because it's this adding the protein element of the bait), however in some situations other proteins are used that isn't 'fishmeal' as such and therefore the protein content is arguably a better measure of how potent a mix actually is. It is definitely important to consider as fish undoubtedly seek certain macro nutrients from within the food they consume and as it warms up groundbaits we describe as stronger or more potent usually have more protein which help fish to maintain weight and stay fighting fit during the period they are most active. During the winter they require less of this and therefore 'weaker' mixes can be more desirable for the fish both due to not needing the extra nutrients but also their ability to break certain foods down when their motabolism slows down.

Brilliant review. I never use ground bait…….using pellet (various sizes) mainly for feed. Am I missing out massively? I fish snake lake mainly that has 5/6 ft max depth….

      Hi Jon,
Pellets are fantastic and a key point to take from Jamies video is that our mixes utilise ground and crushed pellets in their makeup. Groundbait is arguably the most attractive form a pellet can be used in, however, that doesn't mean it's 'always' the most effective and depth can be a big factor. In deep water feeding pellets can definitely make the fish easier to catch as they pick out individual pellets rather than getting preoccupied with tiny particles wafting around the swim. In shallow water like the margins groundbait ia often the most effective way of drawing fish in however.

    Love it. Nice and simple.
Any tips for groundbait to use in deep water (15ft) on a method for carp? Are there options for winter and summer in those situations?
Thanks Sonubaits for making these videos. Great stuff. 🐳👍

      Hi Chris,
In those depths you generally want a heavier, sticky mix so 50:50 Method/Paste is a great option. It is a strong mix that binds very well. Ideal for summer.
In the winter Match Method Mix will give you a nice balance of not being too 'potent' but still have the binding properties to get down. We have a new Shipp's Tips film coming with Des fishing in similar depths, he has some great tips for it 👌🏽

Can you do a video on how you’d go about mixing each one for feeder and potting too
