Get the Surface Laptop Copilot PC: geni.us/surfacelap7
We're diving into Microsoft's latest announcements from their AI event, including the new Surface Pro and Surface Laptop, both equipped with Copilot+ AI. These new devices promise to revolutionize how we use our PCs with advanced features like Recall and AI-driven assistance.
First, let's talk about the new Microsoft Surface Pro. This sleek two-in-one device is powered by Qualcomm's cutting-edge Snapdragon X processor, with options for the Snapdragon X Plus or the high-end Snapdragon X Elite, boasting up to 90% faster performance than its predecessor. The Surface Pro also offers features like optional 5G connectivity, a high res OLED display, and Wi-Fi 7 support.
Next up is the new Surface Laptop, another Copilot+ PC designed for those who prefer a more traditional form factor. This device also features the Snapdragon X processors, providing significant performance boosts and up to 20 hours of battery life, making it great for long workdays. The Surface Laptop includes thoughtful design touches such as USB-C and USB-A ports, a headphone jack, and a choice between 13.8-inch and 15-inch models. Microsoft is clearly aiming to compete with Apple and the MacBook Air, offering impressive performance and value.
But the real magic behind these new Surface devices lies in the Copilot+ AI. This intelligent system helps you stay organized and productive by remembering your activities and assisting with tasks through features like Recall. Imagine being able to access any document, app, or webpage you've ever used simply by typing a few keywords. The Copilot AI also enhances your photos, helps with creative projects, and even provides personalized assistance while you play games.
One of the standout features of Copilot+ is Recall, which allows you to revisit any interaction or activity on your PC. Whether it's retracing steps in a complex project, revisiting a specific part of an online meeting, or simply recalling your browsing history, Recall makes it effortless to find and review past activities. This feature means that you never lose track of important details and can always pick up right where you left off.

As a discerning tech enthusiast I need an array of enticing features!
They should have marketed this Recall feature differently. They should have just called it the new Windows Search, powered by AI. That way, the planet wouldn’t go nuts that AI is taking over our privacy. Can’t wait to use this!
Good point.
The problem is more related to what the feature does, than how they marketed it. Screenshots all the time in the background is what spyware does. The inference analysis is a double edged sword. All of this creates potential abuses by hackers, jealous romantic partners, thieves, employers, and even opens up the entire world of skilled professionals and knowledge workers to losing their jobs if this data about how they perform their work were secretly transmitted to Microsoft for incorporation into a super AI designed to replace whole jobs, departments, or even whole companies. This isn't impossible, you just have to get the data. MS doesn't have a good track record on privacy. They harvest data against the wishes of their users all the time. All of this is adding up to a need to use a different OS than the one owned by the company training the largest AI in the world.... I hope what I've said here helps more clearly see the problem. Microsoft didn't put their users first here. If this is a mistake, they need help focusing on what we all wish we could do with AI. That's a long list full of easy wins to bring customers that will delight, serve them.
true
You’re right. And I also can’t wait to use this
You people who are looking forwards to this need to have your heads examined.
Can you talk more about gaming and co pilot?
5:00 so fast they had to cut the video
sure the snapdragon chip neat for battery life and noise .....but in my area there r 2 options at the moment and there is a rtx 4060 laptop with similar weight for a bit cheaper 🤷♂️
I will wait for another generation, the time it takes to respond with the search results (monthly budget) is not that great.
I'm thinking that the "tracks everything you do on your PC, EVERYTHING" deal, isn't quite the selling point that he or MS apparently thinks that it is. There is plenty that I do NOT want to be reminded of, at inopportune times. I'm probably not alone. In fact, forget inappropriate, how about giving Microsoft the ability to track EVERYTHING that you do and to monetize it. Or when law enforcement wants a peek at what you've been up to. No need to get a warrant for your PC, serve a no-notice warrant to MS for this data. Yeah, MS has a winner because you know how much folks love to give up their privacy. With trackers. From MS.
You have to turn on Recall, it’s not on by default. It’s also not a cloud feature, so Microsoft can’t give the data to anyone. You decide which apps that it’s allowed to work with and which it can’t.
even worse is that its not even encrypted on your device!, its just a sqlite database, and can be read by other users on the same computer. what can go wrong?
Every time I see someone crying about MS "spying" they're an iPhone or Android user who have no problems with Apple and Google recording every word they say, face scanning every photo they take, and scanning every document on their phone to upload to iCloud and GoogleDrive. Hypocritical virtue signalers pretending to care about privacy, when in reality they're just fanboys hating on their chosen enemy corporation while taking it up the *** from their favored corporation. 1984 already happened 10 years ago on iOS and android. Apple and Android users have already been arrested for photos they took getting misidentified as CP by their AIs. Out of every "person" I've talked to that's flipping out about this ALL of them have been iOS and Android users, zero exceptions. Clown world.

well, i’m not a big fan of windows any more. but it’s nice to see microsoft finally entering the arm space. we need some competition for Apple. Macbooks are ridiculously expensive now. that’s real nuts.
... but the desktop picture every 5 sec is a deep chill for me.
Every 3 seconds
I can’t wait to use this amazing tech
Time to switch to LINUX
preordered my sapphire surface laptop, thanks for the great review, new subscriber too ;)
Omg I'm gonna preorder also mine! The battery seems insane
Hope you love it, and thanks for the support!
I'm curious how this "Windows on ARM" thing is going. As STEM student, I need a TON of software that are old as my grandpa. I know that some software run perfectly, like most of the Adobes, but I wonder if emulation works well because many other apps are still only functionable on Intel or AMD chips
As far as I can tell it works quite well from all the reports that I've read.
I’ve heard positive things but this really is the make or break question for those of us who have more than just basic computer needs. Gotta assume there will be growing pains just like with M1
Outstanding Microsoft!!!
Does the photo app also come to the galaxy book edge?
It’ll be available on any PCs with the Snapdragon X processor!
@@Andru Also not completely correct! The features such as Paint Cocreator, Recall & Windows Studio Effects is only available on Copilot+ PC's! Which is ONLY when a device has an NPU with minimum 40 tops :)
@@jonaaa_dt The two chips are Snapdragon X Plus and X Elite, both of which have 45 TOPS, and are the only chips powering CoPilot+ PCs at launch.
You’re not getting me. Those features will be only available with an NPU. assuming the snapdragon chip will be used more in the future, not al pcs will be a copilot+ pc. You can call a copilot+ pc only if they have a NPU with minimum 40 tops.
For example, Samsung book 4 (not talking about edge coming out) is an AI pc and not a copilot+ since they only get 10-15 tops max.
I work for Microsoft 🙃🙃🙃
Also, some of the brands which releasing Copilot+ pc have only 40 tops. Not all manufacture will have a device with 45 tops.
Your own personal jarvis 😊
I need a surface smartphone
Microsoft, la mejor empresa del mundo!!
Same as Rewind app (on Mac for while already)?
First thing I thought of as well! The thing here though is that this is baked right into Windows, it's not a separate app, so it can go "deeper" with the search and hook right into apps.
Great video as ever.
Or you could hit the save to favourites button when you see a website you want to keep. Basically AI is for people with no I,
I'm pretty excited. 5G is coming to these Surface devices later this year
that's true. i will use any computer in the future exclusively with Linux.
90% faster is not incredible. We routinely expect speed to double every couple of years.
What is this dude on right now
Did he say the laptop is a 2 in 1?
They sure did: I'll avoid Windows as much as I can
Thanks for the content.
Excited for “Recall”. What I would say (and its not a bad thing) is that to me it’s quite similar to what “Spotlight” does on Mac OS. I used a Mac for many years and spotlight pretty much always was able to bring up anything context or name based vs what I put into the search bar.
In any case, I like the feature and hope maybe to get a Surface Pro with the plus chip.
Also if you use time machine on mac, that's usually enough to find previous versions. Who needs a snapshot every 3 seconds?
I'd rather not automate things with AI when it comes to PCs. I prefer to have more control myself.
Also, my issue with these Surface devices is that fabric material finish.
New ARM New Power
so now parents can easily find out if their children have something fishy like adult material
Don't call it Laptop 6 please! Surface Laptop 6 exist already for Business usage ONLY! Those are just Surface Laptop & Surface Pro. Not Pro 10 (which does exist but same here only for Business only). New PC category, new names. THEY DO NOT FOLLOW UP THE PREVIOUS MODELS. Make sure your info is correct. thanks
I have a voice recording of a Q&A I did with a Microsoft product manager at the launch event. I just listened to it again due to your comment. They referred to it as “Surface Laptop 6” and “Surface Laptop 6th Edition” during the conversation. This is from someone who worked on the literal product. Do I need to make sure my info is correct, or does Microsoft, when they’re the one who supplied it to me?
There was mix up indeed. But it’s just surface laptop and surface pro.
Check the boxes ☺️
You better not do it anything illegal, or immoral... Lotta cheaters are gonna be in a lot of trouble soon. 🤦🏾♂️
That glare though. Need a matte screen.
Wow
When are we gonna see these laptops in the market?
They come out June 18th
It still can't beat an Mbp
What's an Mbp ?
@@glantedavid9728 macbook pro
I don’t want anything Ai.
This isn’t happening with iOS, macOS, Android, Linux, etc. I would not get too excited as AI will be ubiquitous. Early days and will take a few years before anyone will see a good improvement to the average consumer’s workflow.
The starting price is for the X-Plus chip which is not M3 level. The X-Elite Surface Laptop costs an extra $400+. So, I would not really call it a value ultrabook.
Recall is being investigated by the UK Data Protection Regulator as they suspect it may have privacy and security issues for some users. Also, it will take space, so you probably need to buy 1Tb+ though most X Elite laptops do not have more than 1TB, so people will have to upgrade themselves.
true that. Also, there needs to be absolutely firm regulations in place for this AI stuff on laptops.
And also use the precious battery on your laptop (since it's not a x86, you can use your laptop as a mobile device, it's not just an easier to relocate desktop, which required the charging), and based on Surface diagrams what Microsoft provided, it's already running about 5°C hotter like the Macbook and 7dBM louder (so it has a cooler, but still hotter..? Than it's use an insane amount of power, and drain your battery like crazy.. even if more efficient like the x86, with this characteristic not even close to a Macbook level in battery life, if it's required way more power to operate)
Still MacBook pro with M3 pro chip better than all laptops ❤❤❤
Snapdragon X Elite ❤Windows beeter
I can't draw on it though. And the iPad can't be a laptop =/
You probably wear designer clothes too fruit cake….just for a name. 🙄
Delusional
This laptop isn’t remotely thin or lightweight. It’s thicker and heavier than all the other snapdragon laptops that just came out.
Is it watching adult movies? 😂😂😂
Snapdragon X Elite ❤❤Windows on arm
Snapdragon X Elite 🚀 🚀 🚀
Recall is a Police, NSA..., an Hacker dream for your all Passwords and sensible data....are you sure Windows will not be Hacked ?
Keyword “Promise” 😂
Since Microsoft killed Lumia phones they've lost my trust in "exciting features" . It's happening now with Xbox.
Oh boy…let’s not talk about what they’re doing to Xbox 😩
"A PC so smart"...that its a spyware.
You need to make that slogan into a UA-cam series for copilot.
@@xaratemplate True that.
I'd say that no one will use this, but then there's the phone thing. And the car thing. Phones & cars track users' every move and users seem fine with it. Even criminals seem fine with committing crimes while carrying their phones and driving cars with gps. So, sadly, this is just an evolution of that. It's an NSA wetdream. And a corporate spy's wetdream. And a marketing bonanza. And a fascist dictator's most-wished for feature. Like Xi. Like Putin. Like Felon Trump
Windows recall no thank you. Goodbye Windows hello Linux 😊.
Can you give co pilot a female British accent?
Privacy nightmare
its all done locally. so not at all.
I'm gonna assume you don't use any Google services, social media apps, etc.?
@@deltax7159 And viruses can't find anything if it's only local? Privacy nightmare is real.
@@Andruany of those app taking screenshot of everything I'm doing every seconds?
It's just make it easy for the hackers, they actually can do the same even now if you get any malware, but now they don't even need to work on that, Microsoft collect all your data for them (and no, it's not the same like any other company server based database, because the server will not surf on the net to collect malwares, the server is more protected agains hackers etc..)
By the way the more problem (what involve anybody even those who doesn't care about security) is the SSD usage, it has limited amount or rewrite cycle, and the screenshots will take all the space and continously rewrite it, aka shorten your SSD lifespan..
Recall is brought to you in collaboration with the FBI, NSA, and CIA. Looks like a perfect tool for the Feds.
Not necessarily a bad thing. It won’t matter if you haven’t done anything illegal
@@mendacious7 well, if you know the government, what you may be doing legal today can become illegal tomorrow. What you own legally today, may make you a felon tomorrow. I’ve seen this cycle a lot of times.
The more AI Microsoft shoves in, the more I boot into my Linux partition.
They are competing with apples slowest machine. Its not a competition
All are so Fast that it Doesnt Matter
@@user-ep7el6vt7o a pro machine is competing with an entry level mac instead of a pro level mac 🤔 not a good look
No lah... when you are already using Apple Ecosystem... no need Microsoft Devices which have no ecosystem... competing with Apple? LOL
Another reason to stay on win10
Honestly. 80+ people don't need that privacy. Stop misbehaving
And you also don't need SSD in your laptop..? Because SSD have limited lifespan (about 600 rewrite cycle on each sector..), and those screenshots will rewrite the SSD continously..
hard sell
Hmmm… what about those viruses. Anyone hmm cares about those 😄😆
Recall horrible, especially if Microsoft made it
useless spy.
imagine you can buy 2 of these instead of the apple vision pro HAHAHAHA
