- Say hello to Eclipse. Each day she leaves her house, by herself, and takes the bus downtown to the dog park where she spends a few of hours getting exercise and making friends, and then she takes the bus back home again.
She even has her own bus pass attached to her collar!
It started when her human, Jeff Young, was taking too long when the bus arrived, so she went ahead and got on the bus herself. The bus driver recognized her and dropped her off at the park and later Jeff caught up with her.
After several more trips by herself, Jeff let her go on her own since she always came back home a couple hours later.
Now, the bus drivers all know here and she has gotten to know many of the regular passengers and will sit next to them and she brings a smile to their face.
Eclipse is the sunshine of Seattle and the world needs to hear her story!

Squirrels on the other fact, DO have better intelligence, they have easily demonstrated the abilities to problem solve, plan, and adapt to an obstacle course to get to the food at the end, NO ONE helped them do any part of it, and they thinked outside of the box, trying different strategy's to make a successful plan, let alone execute it flawlessly.

Eclipse passed away October 14th in her sleep. She is missed. So sorry for you Jeff.

i heard she kept doing that until one day she got on the wrong bus and ended up in Beacon Hill. After that she waited for her owner before she got on the next one.

And I bragged on kreacher for being able to knock on doors to play or go outside to pee/poop also she remembers where her treats are, waits for me to leave, gets the treats down, takes one, puts it back like what also I just put my hand up and she make sit go lower with her face then put her paw in my hand and if I say dance she starts spinning but I didn’t train her with abuse
I come from, Nairobi kenya....and this behaviour to navigate the area or the town we have seen it in all the animals that are usually present in like all African cities...i see this behaviour especially with goats and pigs....they will roam upto 25 kilometres per day in different directions but usually by six or seven pm they are back

On October 15, 2022, Eclipse died at the age of 10. Two days before, she was diagnosed with cancer.

I am not saying that this dog DOSENT have intelligence, I am saying that it is drastically overblown, and is unrelated to this bus stop situation. in fact, nothing about this dog is special from any other dog
