Sable stew, thank you for the awesome video. I was expecting a video all about Abbott elementary but your touching story really spoke to me. I’m sorry that counselor wasn’t able to guide you forward. Everyone, teachers aside, sometimes struggles and fails to say the right thing at the right time. We mess up and sometimes we don’t even recognize we made someone feel bad, hopeless, or stupid. I’m so happy to hear you took up the role of a tutor. I have no doubt that you were an awesome educator that did their best to put their best foot forward everyday. Speaking as a substitute teacher in college rn for English education, stories like yours inspire me and reaffirm my journey to become a teacher. I recently had a very bad experience in a Shakespeare class with a professor who was a straight up bully. She made me feel intimidated and stupid for raising my hand to share my thoughts or ask questions. I recently withdrew and thought I was initially very upset about that setback. I realized that it was for the best and it would give me a new opportunity to try again. Keep up the great work, dude. ✌️

Also sorry to hear you had such a negative experience with that professor. I often find the best teachers are the ones who exhibit empathy and kindness so I'm proud that you realized to withdraw and divert your attention to new opportunities.
