I would use a easter backhand grip for flicking, but your partner seemed to show a forehand eastern grip at 1:45, and used the same grip for dinking at 2:27 and flicking afterward.
8:11 Another if I may add, is it's insanely critical to start low, and end high. Like Caden said about the ladder analogy, but before you hit that roll making sure your arm and paddle face is lower than that ball so your paddle face can brush up on it when you hit it. : D
I think it's important to point out that, during those drills, if the drop shot/ reset was too good, he'd take a step back and just do a simple dink over the. net.
Some say Benny got the roll volley from me. I can hit it from my shoe laces. Just aim for the head, and with remarkably little pace, it still bewilders the 4.5+ players in my area.
Excellent information. However using, the Roll Volley to keep an an opponent at the baseline doesn't make much sense. If at the NVZ and they are at the baseline and a ball is hit to you, it makes more sense to just do a reset and drop it into their NVZ. Unless they are young and quick, they will never reach it.
This is horrible advice lol. Also it is called a drop shot, not a reset. You should only mix in drop shots when your opponent doesn’t expect it. Good players will get a free trip to the kitchen if you keep drop shotting
Wow briones needs work on drops resets . I suggest briones learn a two hand drop and reset. Also briones needs work on the arc of his drop. His drops need major attention
lol. What you don’t know is I was purposely slightly popping up the ball so that Caden could demonstrate different rolls and flicks. I think my drops and resets are just fine 😊

Do you guys prefer the Luxx control or the Vanguard control?
Love the lux!!
But currently using the power air pro!
Could you share a link to the camera sun shade that I see in the video pls?

Can you show us how to defense this backhand roll volley and flick?
I’ll have to do that in a future video!
Are you changing your grip after your dinks before the flick?
I do. If I see it high, I can change quickly and get it ready to go
I thought you said you used a slight eastern grip for the flick. Isn't that the same grip used for dinking?
@chubun6631 eastern backhand grip.

😊
What if you are using a two-handed backhand?
This video is specifically on how to attack the ball with a one-hander.
@@BrionesPickleballDo you have a video for the two-hand?
Topspin vs flat on the flick?
Topspin is always good!
@8:51 (sorry 😅) great video man!
Thanks!
The flick kind of reminds me of a counter?
It is similar, yes
Can’t you still use a roll volley when the opponent is at the kitchen line? Such as Ben johns does it all the time
You definitely can, you just got to be ready for the counter !

@evanhayes5891 lol
@BrionesPickleball Haven't you seen that, where it gets hit from so low and people dodge the ball only for it to dip and hit the baseline?
@@evanhayes5891 it happens, but depends on the contact point of course
Pine trees look sad
I know. I need to help make them grow
It’s Arizona, every plant is sad here LOL. Except the cacti, they’re stoked.
Next time get someone who can carry on the drill for longer with Caden
Hahaha good one
Come to our intensive, I can teach you
@@BrionesPickleball 🤭🤣🤣🤣 The students would be asking me to teach them by the end

That is an option if you are playing 3.0’s.
Higher level players can get to drops

Are you on the same wrist strengthening program that Caden was on when he was single? 😂
Nope, he’s by himself on that one
