I know. Others have said this but even though I was safe in that room the music perfectly captures the feeling of dread you get knowing you had to go back out there by yourself. Looking back the earlier games didn't have great graphics and were so linear, but at the time they felt so immersive. The music contributed to that a lot.
Gregory Heffley personally one of my favorites I’ve played just about every one and re 0 was the best I got it when I bought my GameCube and bought it when they remastered it.
This melody was like a healing session after an almost heart attack. This melody was like a protecting and nurturing mum "did nemesis chase you again? Come to my chest my little sweetheart. Come here. Here you'll be safe. Just relax and type down your story on this nice and ancient typewriter." Thank you for this nostalgic 😍
Childhood in a nutshell. Can't wait to play RE0 HD at midnight. Damn i wish capcom will stop with their nonsense Action turn and go back to their Classic Survival horror Puzzle root. I liked RE REV 2. But still i don't know i still want my classic Save room. And ammo limitation.
Well i don't Agree RE7 was meh a really forgettable game. I almost liked RE6 more than this also i don't like FPS that much so i already had a bias. Its a slight move in the right direction but for me unless they go back to original Fixed camera angle or something similar (in fact revelation 2 was better than 7) its a no go i didn't pay for 7 i rented it and i have no intention to pay for it. Plus that stupid Season pass that should have been in the game considering the length of the base game.
RE 0 safe/save room theme is my favorite. Such a beautiful, haunting melody full of dread. It’s a piece I really can feel and is fitting for Rebecca and Billy’s situation as well as everyone else

Well you may have thought you weren't safe as it was called the SAVE room as its usually where the typewriter was to SAVE your progress as well as the trunk was to SAVE your belongings... Although yes you were always safe.. That is true...
Observations: Man, Moment of Relief is the one piece that translates the best into single piano, mayhaps because it was intended as a more elaborate piano when it was written. Ditto for the RE5 and RE0 ones. The RE0 piece, more specifically, is as simple as it gets, but since it's already mainly a piano one, it sounds pretty good here. By contrast, Safe Haven from RE1 and Secure Place from RE2 don't translate that well into a single piano piece. This may be because those two pieces rely more in the arrangement and production to convey their respective moods. As in, those two pieces are the most horror like of the bunch, so they feel kinda empty without the synth parts to enrichen the sound. Aah... synths, they sound kinda fake in traditional scores, but that artificiality makes them ideal for horror tracks. Funnily enough, Free From Fear translates kinda pretty good into a single piano piece despite it also being reliant on synth sounds. Maybe because it's more sad rather than dreary and as such, playing it only on piano really accentuates that? RE 4's save screen track sounds kinda good, too, though kinda cheery.
Man, I just about CAME when the Code Veronica one was played!! Not only was it nicely done here, but it also reflected the sort of fall from grace of the Ashford family while you were fighting your way through the creature ridden estates in the game. There was a sort of richness to that particular song track that is STILL unmatched by any other game track I know of. Capcom was always on point with the ResidentEvil series music though. :-)

The Save room music from the resident evil games is so perfect because the Athmosphere they give out is perfect. They all just give the impression of "Its ok. You have been through hell but you can rest here for a while. Rest here for as long as you would like. Nothings going to hurt you here". Even if its literally just a beat down boiler room surrounded by Zombies outside a police station you can relax. You know your safe in there.
