At least they moved to making the most common failure more accessible - the cooling fan. But they seem to overcompensate with screws if you have to perform any other major repairs. Thanks for the video. With all the push to buy new phones from manufacturers over the last couple years repairs are down considerably for me. Nice that you’ve added gaming consoles to the list of repairs. I’ll be pushing some more ads in this direction esp with my micro soldering skills. Thanks again
Nice man these videos are well made! I just replaced an hdmi port for a guy and his signal is cutting out with white dots on screen. Graphical issues. Thats on a 4k tv. Works great on a 1080p tv i have. Most likely a failing IC chip.
What spots are you testing around the chip with the multimeter and what readings are you looking for when testing them? So I can do a few tests before I change the whole chip. Or is there something online that will show me what the values of all the components should be and also what mode to put the meter in. Thanks !
Hey bro, have a nice day, my ps5 after power outage having a screen issue , the tv is flashing and its only support 1440p and 1080 and lower, i tried to use another hdmi but there is no signal, it only works on the original hdmi and one and only tv My thing is when i change to 4k resolution there is no signal on the tv The problem is the ic or hdmi socket? Should i get worried about future use?
Sounds like the ic chip to me I had the same issue, the power outage could have sent a spike through the HDMI and fried the chip. I only know this because I changed my HDMI port three times with the same outcome so I changed the chip and it's good to go now
Great camera shot of the solder being drawn in by the flux.

2:02 I'm shocked they were able to wrangle that beast of a shield in just 42 screws. I would have needed at least 45. Amazing. 🙃
Hi, what is the value of the resistor you replace near ic?
