    NICE setup brother. One Small thing. Just so you know I been working in the renewable energy field for the better part of 20 years. I just say that so you don't think this just some key bord solar guy LOL. One small thing I see that could be catastrophic. Is that if your PV wires are longer than 100 feet you need to have Midnite solar lightning arrestors at the PV side. What can happen is lighting can hit the earth and get stopped in the house but go into the PV and burn up your PV or even make a fire. Seen this happen more than you would think. Even if it's not 100 feet. It well worth the back up. I know there like 100 bucks each. Not cheap. But a lot beater than losing all your stuff. Even with all the lightning arresters. I seen it still blow things up. So it's not 100% but that's beater than not.
    Hope I have not upset you at all. Was not at all trying to do that. I just care is all. NICE work man. Thanks for sharing. God Bless... PS add earth grounds at your PV minimum 1 ground rod per array. If you can run 2 ground rods on each.

    thanks for the update. Surprising about the data cable ...

    Just a comment that may be relevant @7:58 in your video where you cut wires out from the data cable to reduce it down to just 2 wires (it looks as if it was a Cat 5 Data cable) it looks like you tied it to your power cable, as a network consultant (retired) never a good idea as the power cable can introduce signal noise in the data cable. Over the 30+ years I spent working in the industry I came across this twice where the customer put data cables either in the same conduit or tied them to power cables. If they have to cross power then it should be at 90 Deg to minimize the possibility of causing EMC.
    EMC basics For there to be interference, three elements must be present. • A source of interference (such as a power cable, switching equipment, lightning or some kind of generator). • A ‘victim’ (such as a data or control cable, a device or terminating equipment). • An electromagnetic coupling channel that allows the disturbance to propagate from the source to the victim. Reducing the effectiveness of this coupling channel reduces the disturbing effect of the source and protects the victim from interference that could reduce signal quality. Modern IT equipment is designed to operate with some interference present, and software is designed to recognize interference and ignore it. If a signal appears corrupted, a computer will ask for it to be re-sent. This could happen many times in a typical network. The only symptom is that the system operates a little more slowly and is less efficient. A more serious problem occurs in sensitive alarm or security systems, where interference can lead to a malfunction, which cannot be tolerated. It is well known that surrounding the victim with metal reduces the electromagnetic disturbance. Some of the disturbing wave is converted into an electrical signal in the metal and will have less impact as long as the metal is properly earthed, preferably every 15 to 20 m. This is why cable management can play an important role in protecting a cabling system from electromagnetic interference and why the continuity of the tray or trunking is so important.
    So for this to be done you would need to install metal conduit and earth it in at least 2 locations or run you data cable on a different rout to your inverter.

    Thanks for the video. You have a thorough way of explaining things. Just wondering if there isn't a setting in the inverter to "not charge battery from grid" instead of you manually shutting off a breaker. That may even be possible with a firmware update. I also wonder if it's possible to set up the inverter so it reverts back to the grid in case of failure or shutdown (like a normally closed switch).

    You can’t run any 220 v like air conditioning, water pump, dryer, water heater, stove? How much is your electric bill still paying for all 220 v stuff? Any plans to go totally solar?

    How many AMPS can the inverter handle from the load of your house? Can you do a video showing a load test with an amp meter on the wires going from your inverter to the critical loads panel?

    What amp size critical loads panel are you using? What size breaker for the main in that panel?

    Id love to get a firmware update as well, but the skytrak brand is not seen anywhere on the internet. I think its a copy for the megarevo

    Can i get the installer app to download, im from Jamaica and i bought the inverter from second hand sellers and they cant give me any good information on my issue, you are the best info i got so far…

      Does your system use the "solarman smart" app with wifi dongle?

      It's called solarman business. You might have to talk to the company to get an official login.

    Hey I have a similar inverter skytrak brand 8K I’m having issues in the morning when the panels start producing it chips out for about 20s then comes back in I’m running off grid too, how do I fix this???

      Same issue I had. The "installers" version of the app had a button that set a delay. This kept the battery and solar from competing with one another. Can you ask skytrek about this option?

    So what about your hydro generation?

    • @LandtoHouse
      @LandtoHouse  Рік тому

      I was testing an inverter and it charged the lifepo4 battery at 62v. A new BMS is in the way. After that battery is fixed the hydro will return!
