  • For real small.
This is one of the sets for an animated series I'm working on. It's Eugene's small engine repair shop. I've still got more work to do on it, but wanted to share a little about how I make these things. I hope you enjoy it!

I wish there was a mega-like button cause I mega-loved this video Crafsman. I used to make miniatures when I was a kid. You helped remind the adult me that there’s still a little kid version inside that’s dying to make her own miniatures again!

There’s almost too much realism! When I watched this I was transported to the late 1980’s only there’s a car in the shop, my dad’s replacing a belt and I’m trying to hold a flashlight for him while he explains that I’m not illuminating what he needs to see enough. I then learn colorful and creative new words from him banging his knuckles and attempt to use those same words in my own situations around the house. My mom hears me and angrily hits dad with something heavy to every single syllable in, “I better not ever catch you teaching him those nasty words again!!!”...so yeah I’m gonna need you to dial back the realism some. For real awesome work though. You never disappoint. I’m pretty sure I grew up there and I’m not quite sure how you knew that and formed a model of my memories.

Fantastic. The possibilities of foam core are endless. Personally I like removing one side of the paper and making a brick texture. If you're looking to try separating one of the paper sheets off the form core in order to do a little sculpting or something, I'd recommend trying out cheap foam-core board from a dollar store, as the paper comes off more easily.

    My faeries Thank You!
When I was stuck in the hospital for too long I built a miniature (full size for them, of course) gypsy faerie caravan. Complete with “marble” floors, loft bedroom, full library, kitchen, pots and pans (out of sculpting clay, etc) but not once did I have the insight to make them their own workshop!!
Now that I’m well, my workshop is full and busy again. It is time I make them one of their own!!
Thank you so much for being fantastic. I would have adored an instructor like you back in school and am thrilled we have you here!

Love your imagination and hope it inspires others. Thank you for your work on the video and hope to see Eugene at his favorite diner eating the blue plate special.

Oh Crafsman, you are somethin else! I absolutely, positively LOVED this and it was great to see Eugene again! Your miniatures are point on! They don’t seem like miniatures, they seem like another world. Best of all, you ended with your music!! 💕 It would be great it you would end each of your videos with that music. It makes us happy to hear it. It’s the best ending of all.

Your minis are so realistic, and cute! I find your voice very relaxing, and you add just the right amount of humor to your narrative (even if you don’t realize it).😁
