Love this Channel. In my home state of Pennsylvania there is a town called New Hope, that is said to be haunted by a variety of ghosts. One is said the be that of a male hitchhiker with blonde hair and blue eyes, wears a brown jacket with bell bottom pants and carries either a knapsack or duffel bag. A great story, neatly, concisely and accurately told. I've known the basic story for many years, although most versions I've seen start with the unfortunate doctor and the girls, rather than further back in the 1890s. Your artist excelled himself with those wonderfully atmospheric drawings, worthy of comparison with Sidney Paget's for the 'Hound of the Baskervilles'. Do you know the tale of poor Kitty Jay's grave? Nothing horrifying, just bunches of flowers that mysteriously keep appearing to show she's not forgotten.
Devon native here, thanks so much for doing this one! I can't help but wonder if my previous comment contributed to the making of this video..! This video is very well-researched - I've read and re-read many different versions of the legend and I've never seen anything detailed about the gunpowder factory worker. I'd be very interested to know what sources you used. The artwork even bore a surprising resemblence to several Dartmoor vistas I've been lucky enough to see for myself. For those who are interested, there are other explanations for the Hands' origins, including that they are only part of an ape-like elemental spirit that inhabits the barrows and stone circles in nearby Bellever Forest, himself a servant of the ancient god of Dartmoor now known only as Old Crockern. Old Crockern supposedly takes the form of a malevolent stone giant and is notoriously contemptous of intruders and modern technology upon the Moor, and according to legend, many farmers looking to till Dartmoor's unforgiving soil have been driven to ruin and death by his machinations. For fellow folklore enthusiasts, there's a truly vast amount of diverse folklore on Dartmoor, so much so that virtually every landmark, no matter how seemingly insignificant, has at least one story associated with it. The Legendary Dartmoor website has some stories, and although the format isn't great it's a good place to start. If you actually visit Dartmoor, you'll find the best sources of lore info are the books often sold at the pubs and shops on the Moor and the pub landlords. Anyway, thanks for the video guys, I've been watching your channel pretty much since it started and it really is a treat to see such a familiar local story get the BTS treatment.
Hey, teacher, leave them kids alone 🎵🎶 Edit - have you heard of the Catman of Greenock? He's a local legend, there's actual footage of him on UA-cam, but no one knows a thing about him, very mysterious, and true. I'd love to see his story on this channel.

Great video as always. Thanks guys
I recall reading about this when I was a kid. It's one of those phenomena that will likely never have an explanation.

Seriously, though: Great video! Also, your choice of music, especially in the background! It stays you with even when you pause the video.
had a nice walk there today
Devon heaven
Can’t wait to hear the latest Bedtime Story!!
Your team’s research along with your narration is the best of the best. Love you guys!!! Keep up the great work.
Can I suggest Houska Castle, the Mackenzie Poltergeist, the Black Monk of Pontefract, The Big Grey Man of Ben Mcdhui and the grey lady of Larkhall. All well worth a telling.
Love the story about the lady of larkhall ...so little about it on the net
Hey Bedtime Stories crew, I just wanted to say that I love your content, from your writing and narration to the choices of topics. In particular, your animated illustrations are great and not that they were ever bad in your earlier videos but they have improved even more since then so well done to your artist(s) and all of you keep up the good work and output of awesome content 😊.
I'm a big fan too of their work it takes a lot doing it really does behind the scenes. I have always enjoyed their content and I hope they do many more in the future
Thank you for your content very very enjoyable and interesting
Always love your stories:)
Highlight of my day.

That thump sound effect when the hands showed up on the wind shield was awesome!

It's like getting a new scene at the end of a movie. I'll make sure to go to the very end of every BTS video now.
I appreciate that you guys have reasonably priced merch unlike basically everyone else on UA-cam
Oh my god Charlie wasn't making up hairy hands.
Penguinz0s legendary road trip video covered this
Excellent video! I always bring up Google Earth/Maps to get a feel for the areas in the stories. Nice PF there at the end, too!
I'm a humble man, i see a bedtime story video- i click play and like button 🤷♂️
LOVE this channel. SO well done!
Hey, teacher, leave them kids alone 🎵🎶
Edit - have you heard of the Catman of Greenock? He's a local legend, there's actual footage of him on UA-cam, but no one knows a thing about him, very mysterious, and true. I'd love to see his story on this channel.
Been ages since I was this early! Immediate like, then watch of course :-)
No whisper at the end????? I always wait for it!
When I finally get some time to spend in England, I'm going to visit these mysterious places you've told us about. Stay safe & well, BTS crew.
If I was driving out there I might as well be saying my prayers to ward off whatever is out there.
Depends on the prayer, you would need the blessings of Saint Benedict Medal. Good luck witcher.
My heart jumped when the hands hit the window and windshield. That stuff is just spooky.
I remember reading about this case when I was in high school. Glad you guys got around to it!
Ldawg711 is right. You deserve a huge following. Great stories well told. And there is something hypnotic about Richs voice that cures my insomnia. And yes I do occasionally have a nightmare about a story lol.
Fantastic music! Great art but I don't see much of it before my eyes close.
