I would absolutly love to see a full breakdown of how much money you make, and how it's made. But something else I'd love to see more. Is a video on how to find sponsors, how big you should be before you approach one. And maybe even what red flags you should be looking out for. Same with orgs. I am about a 110 adverage viewer streamer and I'm struggling to turn this into a living wage, I still dont make enough to live and pay rent. And I cant find any information on any of these things so im going in blind. Otherwise love these videos, you have helped me alot. Cheers mate.
I don't know much but if the company is making money when you aren't in whatever they are offering you, you shouldn't be taking that. Also make sure you have other people look over that contract. You probably shouldn't go the sponsors and ask them, you don't need sponsors to be a legit streamer or to afford rent if you annoy them they might put you on some sort of blacklist, etc. You should let them contact you. The reason he doesn't have a video on finding sponsors and the like is because its a bad idea for you to contact them. If you are really struggling with the rent make a youtube to get extra income and also get a job, (it can be something like Harris mentioned in the video) even if it cuts into your stream time (streaming constantly won't help you get viewers most of the time, let alone make a financial impact.) Also I don't know if this will make an impact, but maybe give value to subbing or donating, like adding TTS (text-to-speech) for certain amounts of donations like $3 or more is TTS and maybe adding more sub emotes so people have more of a reason to sub besides just supporting you. (I don't know if that makes a difference though, but usually I feel way more against subbing whenever there is like 4 emotes compared to a different streamer with like 24, this should probably be the last thing though.)
I would love to see the financial breakdown video. I'm trying to run this like a business, and you're definitely knowledgeable about basically every aspect of this one

Appreciate you sharing your monetization metrics with us Harris, not a lot of creators will do that these days and I think the 2010-2013 stigma is mostly gone or.... if not, it should be. With that being said, HOLY SHIT MAN! You are absolutely freakin KILLING it! I'm sure I'm not alone in having no idea you were doing so well on Twitch. I figured Twitch was just your side hustle to your UA-cam at this point. And that's at only 3 days a week streaming?! Not gonna lie, this kinda makes me excited. It's like seeing proof that you don't need to have 5,000 viewers or to stream 60 hours a week to do really well for yourself. Most of us would be content with 1/10th of that per month. Hell, 1/20th of that. Keep up the good work bud!

There is literally no breakdown anywhere on the internet where people share how much they're making, why they're making that much, and whether or not those numbers are realistic.
I also think it's interesting (and somewhat feeds into the "charity" mindset) that when you approach the industry with a challenge (i.e. make money other ways aside from your followers) they don't reply with answers or theories of their own - they just ask you to give them an answer to your challenge in a how-to video.

1 Yes it would be nice if Sam would make a Course i would defently buy it. 2 If you are willing to break down your income from all these platforms you are active on , that would be awsome, But isnt this maybe a bit to personal to show each step of your own income ? Anyways nice video Harris and Lovely Dingsounds Sam :)
My pal & fellow art streamer Claire built a great & supportive community & then she spent 6 months on a series of paintings that went on sale all at once. She spent months building up the hype for this sale. With her being a great artist there was no doubt they'd sell, but literally NOBODY expected 36 painting to sell as fast as they did, netting her a cool $20K in about 15 minutes flat.
Yes I personally would love to see a breakdown of your income. As someone who aspires to not only be a content creator, but to do it the right way so I can grow and expand my business it would be incredibly beneficial to me and I'm sure numerous other people
Love this video and the ideas of the other ones. Its been a dream of mine to do what you do and the main thing i struggle with is managing my time to fit the outcomes. I cant spend enough time editing and streaming along with trying to learn all that to do it a little faster and have any return at all. Its just a very long period of stagnicity and its very hard to balance, what would you say to be able to learn and manage how to actually go about being a streamer/content creator without it being every single thing you do. I cant my normal life goes while this one barely ever gets started.

This guy is like the popular guy at school you think is going to be a dick, but when you talk to him you find out he's actually very down to earth and friendly.
Just a side note harris amazon associate program has a full breakdown of the split. Main things streamers may dish out aka computer stuff is 2.5% things like tools and lawn and garden stuff gets up to 10%
good call.. pays to have a large audience :)
Make it, but in a way that makes your feel comfortable,it’s obviously very important to you. Appreciate this channel so much!
Money videos are cool, you never get to know what «in the middle» content creators make. Thank you for being open and cool about it!
We need more of this and more of you! love your Content
Awesome. Genuine and great for someone like me who wants to gain as much knowledge before starting this venture. Great tips and ideas. Fruits to be able to make great content and get compensated to the fullest potential. Awesome! Ty so much. Much appreciated. N yes make a video of what your ideas and avenues total up and how you make that happen
Harris, thank you so much for the copyright free lo-fi. It's my favourite kind of music and It's always nice to have it when streaming.
Some awesome ideas in here Harris! Can't wait to try some of these out 🤞
Sooo many ways! Congratulations on having such a successful channel!
On Amazon Associates: The number is 1-10% depending on the department category that the product falls under. It also Differs per region.
I'm from Jordan in the middle east i can't find that "Text" button he clicked where can I find that? I do recommend a lot of products from amazon and i never knew i got make money from it. I've probably recommended to 500+ people things from amazon that they actually bought lol
@@angvil That's the Amazon Site Stripe. When you are logged into an amazon affiliate enabled account, that button is available at the top of every single page.
@@streamershaven Thank you! I'll get on that right away
I love when channels show their real numbers its like i already like you and trust in your content and guidance but now its more thanks btw
T-shirts have always been so hard to get into even on teespring when I wasn't streaming knowing what you can and can't use for a design just scares me away from even having merch.
So your YT channel has near doubled in size since March and it's only August?! That's amazing!
Your honesty and trust are my value I get from you.
Thank you for being so transparent!
Thanks for all you do Alpha! Always get value from these types of videos.
I’m probably late to the game with this but I’ve just started taking a crack at streaming and content creation on youtube and I would definitely take a course from Sam!
Love the videos btw Harris!
As all your vids informative, inspiring, and motivating at the same time. Thanks so much! 😊
@4:20...Do that shit bro bro! Fuck it, motivation for people to grind. If they salty about what you're pulling in, that's on them. It will be informational for people trying to really go for it. (Myself included). Thanks for the time & God Bless. 😎🤙🏽
You're a damn genius man! I've started my twitch and youtube channel a month ago. I have watched many of your videos and I gotta say, my progression in twitch and youtube has been extremely amazing! It's all because I've used your tips! Probably wont even see this, but THANKS MAN! keep doing your thing man! Hope to be as successful someday 🤙
We.Are.Not.Worthy.Of.This.Quality.Content thank you Harris
1:32 So many people need to hear this
I'm a software engineer, I made $135,000 last year. There. Scary, huh? I like talking about money with people, it's a healthy conversation to have, and shouldn't be taboo. Our parents wanted to hold their salaries as secrets, we shouldn't.
must feel pretty amazing getting over 20k subs in 2 weeks! You Deserve it!
Harris, thanks for all your videos man!
I would honestly pay a premium to learn how sam does what he does
You're the boss bro! Still can't stream but I'm saving for my first streaming PC. Really nice to see your videos though! Keep it up 👍👍
Thanks for this man. looking to get started crating content.
For the point made in 4:20, at least in the Affiliate Agreement, there's a segment that says the following:
4.2. Reporting. We will provide you with access to our dashboard which will provide data relating to Program Fees (“Reporting Data”). You acknowledge and agree that all Reporting Data is and will at all times be exclusively owned by us and *will remain our confidential information*.
I don't know if the generic Partnership Agreement has any difference, but I believe showing this information in particular is against the Agreement.
Do the video! I'd love to see the breakdown and learn from it. Its not about what YOU make...its about how we can progress into the world of content creation as a career.
“I should play a YouTu... *ad plays* ..be ad right now that’d be hilarious” 😂
Do what you want harris. I'll still support you.
Loads of good ideas here, thanks Harris.
Thank you for being so honest your videos have helped me so much its insane.
Thanks for the ideas. Been wanting to do a lot of these. This pandemic is kind of kicking me in the pants to start them. Thank you.
As someone who aspires to not only be a content creator, but to do it the right way so I can grow and expand my business it would be incredibly beneficial to me and I'm sure numerous other people
dude, if you made a video on how much you make, that would be amazing. would love to see how financially viable all of these options are.
Harris, Thank You, this was so informative. I pln taking this info add it to my DJ(Part-Time) business
These are all really great ways to monetize your online presence. The hard thing however is getting that following big enough to be able to do those things! I’ve been streaming on twitch over a year or two and haven’t seen barely any growth. Which is why I’m starting to post on UA-cam to try and gain more exposure! It’s just a hard thing to do!
