I’m proud of Simon 1.5 years later finally had a relevant on time business news story on business blaze.

My fiance was in the next room in zoom class, and I guess I had the tv a bit too loud when this video starts off with Simon yelling "ACTIVATE THE BOWEL THRUSTERS!" and everyone in his class heard.
That is just glorious!
Ok, Simon decided that instead of creating yet an other channels, he would post 7 times a week on all 10 channels for a total of 70 videos per week.... In the free time he has left, he will be giving lecture at different RH classes on how to keep hundreds of employees in a 10m sqrt basement.
I am an expert on these things.
I feel that all of his channel icons should utilize his face in some way. That way I always know it's a Simon channel and that I should watch it.

I watched the intro and then I watched that actual part of this video and I could not tell that he said anything other than bowel- which my talk-to-text has variously translated as owl and vowels.....

I listen to your videos on my way, to and from work, and have developed a drinking game, where anytime you yell "NO, DANNY! NO!", I have to quickly guzzle down whatever energy drink or soda I have in reach. By the time I arrive to work or home, I am amped-up enough to face any challenges that still await me.

The ship has "Evergreen" on the side as it is operated by Evergreen Marine. It isn't the ship's name. It has "Ever Given" written on both the bow and stern.

Many of those Evergreen ships are given Ever G... names, like Ever Golden, Ever Gentle, Ever Glory. Ever Given, by the way, also ran into a ferry in Hamburg in February 2019.

As a civil engineer who has worked on several large infrastructure projects, I am often amazed that the world runs as smoothly as it currently does.
Though this is an old, Evergiven is the name of the ship, Evergreen is the company operating it. The company also lost the famous shipping container filled with rubber ducks several years ago.
I miss Danny like his family miss him being in they're own basement. I mean, it's only been one episode but still.

My oldest brother is a sea captain commanding the biggest container ships in the world. I wrote him, here's part of his answer, "There are about 25 -30 ships arriving at each side of the canal every day."
He said about 50 ships a day so yalls numbers are close. I wonder how deep that ship is stuck in the sand..

@@elenaderoet4926 It's not the captain. The pilot is in charge during these crossings, exactly to avoid these events due to captains that only occasionally transit the canal.
@@TheNixie1972 Even with the pilot knowing the waters well, stupid shit can happen, lol. Used to work at one of the wheat pools in Vancouver, Canada, and a ship damaged our dock enough to take it down for a couple weeks for repairs despite having a local pilot on board.
See, the empty ships would come up the Fraser River from the Pacific, turn around midstream when they reached us, and sidle up alongside our dock on their port side, with their noses point back the way they came.
The whole thing would also be guided by a couple of tugs for fine control, but the ships still have to do the broad strokes correctly; even empty, that's a *lot* of mass and inertia.
So these idiots pick up the pilot down at the mouth of the river, as usual, and he guides them up to us. Has them start the turn, head towards us, and then tells them to put it into reverse to complete the turn.
--And the captain tells him, "We don't have reverse. It doesn't work."
Well, it was too tight a turn to make without reverse (and thanks sooo much for letting the pilot know when he got on!!), and the tugs did their best, but they were headed straight for our dock and while they didn't wipe it out (which they easily could have), they did damage our overhead gantry, which we use to load the wheat into the ships. The guys up there honestly thought they were about to die, but luckily while the thing shook and swayed badly (it's many storeys tall) it didn't come down.
TL;DR: Even a local pilot can't prevent idiotic screw-ups every time. :/

This one I can pitch in on. I was doing backups of the security/access control database for the Gabba or locally known Brisbane Cricket Ground which is quite known in the international cricket community. I accidently corrupted the database and wiped out all users including heads of government, stadiums Queensland etc with a game on the next day. I spent 4 hours fixing my mistakes and fortunately had an idea that sped it up. But it was a collosal screw up on my end.

I once had a job as a sysadmin. My crowning glory was when I took down email service for every one of customers...by using a comma instead of a period in a flat text file that had no error checking on it. My colleagues were so proud of me. After they got done swearing at me.
the BEST part about Simon is its the same dude on every channel yet he has a different character.
I've binged about 130 episodes (including adds) in the past two weeks #simonneedsmoney. This is just the earliest I've ever been able to comment. Every episode is a LEGENDARY improvement over the previous one, do to the inside jokes and Peruvian marching powder fueled rants.
