This chapter...I actually like it alot, but also I'm very confused.
The chapter set-up is actually pretty reasonable, atleast in comparison to whatever the fuck Chapter 5 was. The group decides to take a shortcut through a mountain because the normal route is not only full of Timaetans (so alot of Lance users), but also it's take even longer and the devs really didn't want to make too many maps.
Anyways, new unit time! I'll just talk about the immediatly given ones, Buggi can go away and I don't wanna do anything with him.
Emilia: She...is actually a decent support unit, but I wouldn't dare use her for combat. Remember, she's a Dark Mage with 6 con (literally not enough for Flux). While you can help her up from the ground, there is no way in hell she'll be able to use her Speed to its fullest potential.
Her main trait is her Dark Aura. It essentially allows enemies to be crit much more often, which can stack tremendously with Supports and crit-based weapons (Short Sword Gaming). You can try to use her for combat, but most of the time she's just a 1-attack nuke, so it'd be best to have her finish off enemies before they counter.
    Theodore: SIMP.
One thing I noticed about him is his...highly flexing growth rates. Like seriously, he's a pre-promote with growth rates that surpass Baud. And like, what does he need the 65% Magic Growth for, tryna impress Aylanda? Well, you can still use him to great effect with his Gentilhollme reskin, that along with magic access will make him a great all-rounder. Too bad the Sirens prey upon his likes...
The map is...very weird, but it's the kind of weird I appreciate. It's a fog-of-war chapter where you fight stuff which you can deal with with bizzare unit placement. You get alot of actually great treasure (2nd Rescue Staff!), which if you placed you units particularly can be used to effectively change the tides of battle (however I'm an idiot). The fog also isn't a big issue, because by this point you have 2 Illuminate staves, and the Pillars give you Torches out the whazoo. Also the fog in this level is the Thracia kind, which...in practice doesn't do much.
The enemy variety isn't big, but this time it's the weapons that force you to think. You can use Runa to bait the Silencing Sirens alongside 1-2 Range Spiders and Gargoyles, you need to make sure the Lullaby Sirens cannot attack key units, and their considerable hit rates give value to Dark Supporters for the increased Avoid, Hit and Crit, since their speed makes doubling rare (unless you got a speed-blessed Colter or Thea). And also-FUCKING FENRIR IN CHAPTER 6 WITH 20 MIGHT. AND THE BOSS DRACO ZOMBIE DEALS A FLAT 30 DAMAGE AGAINST EVERYONE! WOW, they did NOT care about Dark Magic being balanced on enemies.
The story is decent too! The new characters try and make themselves...niche to say the least in terms of enjoyability (even though Theo is not my cup of tea), and if you decide to Talk to others you actually get some great lore! It's like the game is actively apologising for Chapter 5, and I'm more than willing to accept these if it keeps up pace!
Also the Berit and Runa C support has 2 back-to-back typo's that include 2 spaces before the next word. Amazing.
