I used bronze wool to make backing gas fixtures when TIG welding jet engine parts. It would slow down and help diffuse the argon gas, so it would disturb the molten pool of metal.
Now that’s cool! It works great and is an economical replacement for the cardboard packing! Thanks for watching brother, I appreciate it! I hope you have a wonderful day!
I have repaired a few that had the tips bent! It’s a little tricky, but not terribly hard. Thanks for watching sister, I appreciate it! I hope you have a wonderful day!
My first Coleman video was about 6 months ago. That’s when it all started. I fully immerse myself when I start a new hobby. I watch UA-cam videos, I join forums and ask lots of questions. I’ve always been tinkering ever since I was a kid. I’d always be taking things apart to see how they work. So it’s a matter of trial and error and using the best techniques I have learned or developed myself!
Hi Dominic 😀 I don't see the bronze wool here in the UK, but it's a great idea, my Tilley lamps can pulse if on lighting you pump em up too much too soon , I guess before the generator has enough heat for vaporisation, ?. Cheers mate thanks for another interesting video, stay safe, best wishe's to you and your's, Stuart UK.
Brother Dom i will loose those tiny pieces 😂 fat fingers would be fumbling everything... anyway that said thanks for walking us through the steps thanks again take care
Just curious does the bronze wool work better than the cardboard and do they make replacement cardboard. How did you learn the trick with the bronze wool. 👍🔪👊🔥🍻
Yea it works better by reducing the pulsing. And yes they sell new packing. I learned this by reading about it on the Coleman forum! Oh yeah! Thanks for watching brother, I appreciate it!
