This brings back so much nostalgia... I love the old pirate sets. I'd love to get me one for myself. I also love the old alternative builds on the old LEGO sets. Something I wish they did more often now, though you can find some good alt builds online. Thanks for the review. I loved having this pop up on my feed. :)
You bet@@Brickido. I'd say the one thing I thought about with the review was how most sets no longer come with baseplates like this. Overall I think building without baseplates is a good thing. Mine always ended up getting broken... But definitely makes me think of the old days!
@@bricksnkids Yeah, there are pros and cons to the baseplates. They take up a lot of space, and they are not compatible with regular plates (that's the worst part imho). On the other hand, they give some life to the set and it's easier for me to imagine how the set can be extended. Sets without any baseplates feel kinda 'detached'. BTW baseplates like these are easy to acquire and are still available. Also Lego has gone back to including road plates in the city line, which gives the sets a similar old vibe.
Once I had this set, along time ago, but unfortenately I didn't keep it safely and during the years I lost many parts, I even didn't know that it was lego set, I thought it was just a cheap chinese constructor set. I had never appreciated it and I'm sorry about that!
Good video! I never had one of those pirates set (although I do have one of those boats, not sure where from), but I can totally see the appeal. I was just more into other themes.
I had this set! one of my first as a kid

If you really miss this set, I think most of the pieces can be obtained cheaply via Bricklink. Don't take it too hard :)

Thank you very much! What other themes would you like to see videos on? I also have castle, trains, city, and star wars.
