In various regions of India, the Gram-devata remains the most significant deity for villagers. I have observed several such ceremonies in the villages of Karjat, Maharashtra, where locals seek the Gram-devata’s intervention to resolve their issues. You’ve rightly highlighted that mediums serve as custodians of this age-old tradition.
I was struggling to know about kula devta and was waiting, now heard about grama devta. So please talk about kula devta elaborately and how it has impact on one oneself and from where it started and also about grama devta, how it is different. How kula devta gets established in one of the villages? And do they go to another village for certain purpose? 🙏
Namaskaram and thank you for this video which explains how many unseen and unknown realms of life functioned. This is a great continuation for my learning at your temple workshop. 🙏🏻❤🙏🏻
Thank you Premji for sharing this🙏 very insightful. As a kid I used to visit Kerala during vacation.. and I've seen in Chottanikara temple there's a huge tree full of nails.. they say the disembodied beings are captured in the tree..some ascribe it to as a cure to mental illness.
Hindu temples are meant for wellbeing of all at physical and mental levels. There are temples that can help me specific issues like the Mannarsala temple for infertility issues or skin problems. They do help.
Finally a Thatha talks episode after a long wait! One question, anna: is the filter/effect/vignette slightly misplaced or is it intentional? I'm seeing the video with a bit too dimmed/dark.
Start searching 🙏🏽😊.. they say that as u are searching, the kuldevata is also waiting for you to find them… so if u search intensely they will reveal themselves to you in many ways.
Namaskaram Anna, Now that many families are living away from their ancestral homes, how can they visit/pray to Grama Devatas ? Is it possible and should one invoke these deities in city homes ? Only few know the names, and even less people know the rituals. Especially for those coming from Northern part of India, such temples and wisdom associated with it have been lost. Please suggest what can be done about this - at least for families who are interested in working towards it. Pranam.
Namaskaram anna! My grandparents came from Pakistan at the time of partition. So, we lost contact with our kul devta and gram devta. I just know the name of our kul devi. Her name is Mata Satyoti. So, is there anything I can do, as visiting our ancestral village is next to impossible now. When I googled for any temples in our country by this name, i found a few in Punjab or himachal. So should I visit there, will that be apt?
