  • Physics Ninja shows you how to solve for an unknown resistance using a Wheatstone Bridge. We first use Kirchhoff's rules to get an expression for an unknown resistance and then look an at example problem

hi. RA is my (RX) whilst my RB is my variable resistor. RC and RD are known. How would I go about calculating this?

When the current flow through the resistor and the current is opposing the loop direction. Shouldn't the voltage drop be positive and not negative.

    I have AB=1ohm, BC=4ohms, CD=5ohms, DA=3ohms and AD=2ohms.
Find value of current in branch AB, AD, and BD

Kirchhoff’s loop rule states that if you travel against the current over a resistor, then +IR and if you travel with the current over a resistor then -IR. So im confused as to how you get the opposite at 4.20 in your video

Basicly its same thing,if u go your way E-I1R1+I3R3=0 or if u go his way E=I1R1-I3R3 he just should wrrite at end E not 0.I also use this way,if u have + of E following the direction of loop it will stay +,also if your current follow direction of loop on resistor it will be +,but u will write +E=+IR and not +E+IR

No! Be careful. If it’s balanced only some ratios will balance the bridge
