"... well the exit velocity is good" - Ross Atkins Was in Toronto on Business back in 1991. Had a spare day so I went to a Jays game, last second. Well, no seat in the house, ended up waiting for the first pitch and bought a nose bleed from a scalper. It was packed.
It's simple...FIRE Mark Shapiro right away. (Ross Atkins has not made 1 baseball decision in 9 years without Spapiro telling him.) Hire Click as interm Prez. Hire Ng as GM for the rebuild.
I love these 3 picking apart the jays. Bobs probably not far off his estimate for 30 dollar nachos, I don't think winning is this organizations priority given its position and location in the league.
You can fire Shapiro and Atkins in the middle of the season. It'll give the new management a chance to watch the team and observe the entire organization. They'll have an in-season leg up in figuring out what needs to be fixed.
I do think that the lion’s share of attendance at home games is people going for the social aspect “ a night out” not Baseball fans of this team . Those actual fans #s are dropping day by day , and when they price themselves right out of the casual market , there will be nothing left . Front office has to go ! First then on down coach , hitting coach , players etc
Last year all management showed they did not care about the team and the fans. Furthermore, they could not man up by apologizing for it. The personnel must go.
This won't be so bad. This is the end of the plan and it didnt work. Ohtani could have been the centerpiece for the next step, but realistically, that was a long shot. It's time to rebuild but not clear payroll. They can afford to keep some salary in order to lure higher quality prospects in trade. A high draft pick or two wouldnt hurt either. Its been awhile and top 10 picks are different than they used to be.
I respect Bob and the show, but sometimes i wonder what is going on in their heads. The majority of the games in July and August will be sold out or almost sold out regardless of the team's performance . This has been the pattern for years regardless of the Jay's record. Toronto is not a baseball city. 1000's of people from all over Canada and the US come to Toronto to see the Jays or the visiting teams throughout the summer. The renovation alone will fill up the stadium for the summer. After labour day, then you will see the effect of the team's poor standing with 10 000-15 000 or more empty seats just like most years. The one thing that Richard got right was that it has become a playground for the rich. All of the best seats from 1B to 3B in the first 10-15 rows are extremely expensive. It's true that they come with unlimited free food and food delivery to your seat, but still, you are looking at $400 + for a pair of premium seats. For that kinda $$, I would rather go to a raptor's game.
Sadly this storied franchise has turned into a jersey, beer, bobble heads class “A” ball team. Only a matter of time before they end up like the Expos.

GM/Manager gone, should have done it 2 years ago
I agree with Deitsch 1000%!

2 beers is $30, nachos is $16… but it is very hard not to drop a hundie before you know it!
James Click ?

Is Richard nuts? I don't care if the janitor at the Rogers Centre becomes GM for the deadline, Mark and Ross cannot rebuild this team!!
To be fair Richard more than alluded to the fact that the front office has to be improved and that should not be "from within".
@@scuffmacgillicutty7509 your right, he did. Just wanted to make the point that anybody would be better then this front office.
That’s a given.
100% they have to GO!!!!

Jays deserve where they are now ! Terrible GM ! Horrendous Manager !
Maybe Springer will improve if they invest $20 in a garbage can
