This wonderful government is MAKING WHOLE any of the Marines affected by their own admitted negligence. This government should MAKE WHOLE EVERY MARINE affected in ANY WAY for what they've done. WE MARINES put our lives the line for this country only to be poisoned due to the Camp Lejeune Water Contamination as thanks for our dedication.
I was discharged from Camp Lejeune in 1976 after serving over a year there and have been unemployed since that time after receiving a VA very low-income pension in the early 1980's for 'unemployability'. I started my claim about 3-years ago which was finally filed about 6-months ago, but have heard nothing from either the Department of the Navy or VA about it. In the meantime I've had NO medical treatments at all and am just wasting away.
They will provide medical assistance provided you are absolutely able to prove you acquired some form of cancer due to their negligence. It takes so much time to do so with documents galore. They will not provide you with any documents that would verify your claim, you have to acquire those yourself. And if you go directly to the VA for diagnosis and they confirm you have cancer, or some other medical issues related to the Water Contamination, INSIST that the VA puts down in your medical records the "It is presumed that this patient's cancer is due to the Camp LeJeune Water Contamination". However, keep in mind that even though you will then qualify for treatment and to file a legal suit, this government is still not doing a single thing to MAKE WHOLE the veterans and their families so negatively affected by the governments own self-admitted negligence. If this were a private company that had done this, the claimants would more than likely already be receiving a reasonable settlement. This government is beyond corrupt and don't give a damned about those that have sacrificed so much for their freedoms.
The" best" lawfirm tells us- we get 40% for my injuries) Is this appropriate? Idk I had skin rashes and headaches. Naval hospital says heat rash. (It was hot showers?- my A $$!!
This whole thing looks like a "feel good" thing for politicians to take home to their constituents, who will never look at the fine print. Yes, the most serious illnesses will have some compensation, many posthumous. Besides the deliberate slow-walk by the Navy, the various rulings leave most exposed to receiving little or nothing, the $21B is meaningless. Starting with a tier system that drastically cut amounts dependent on time exposed, then only one cancer is considered even if you have multiple applicable cancers. There's the timeline cutoff instituted, where after age 60 prostrate cancer diagnosis isn't considered, and a 35 year limit between last exposure and diagnosis on some cancers, and finally some cancers "considered more treatable", and amounts reduced accordingly. Throw in the lawyer fees, and for most the time spent finding the required documentation to prove the illness and the fact you were there, was a waste of time. It's like, "yeah you had cancer but prove exposure caused your cancer and really affected you" even though supposedly the rulings have the correlation already.
If this woman and her husband in this clip can get in contact with me, I can tell them how they may be able to get approved. Now, that doesn't mean receive a settlement yet, just maybe get qualified and approved.

Firstly, I am NOT an attorney. This information is strictly what I was recommended to do. If you were at LeJeune during that time frame for at least 30 days this is what I did. I went directly to the VA hospital to be diagnosed. I furthermore have been through and am receiving treatment for my cancer. I had them put these words in my Medical Record: "It is PROVABLE that this patient's cancer was caused by the Camp LeJeune Water Contamination." Utilizing the word "PROVABLE" means that in a court of law, a judge would have to consider your illnesses as being caused by the Water Contamination at Camp LeJeune as FACT unless it could be proved otherwise by the government. That is what I was told by an attorney and that's how I am at least receiving treatment. If you do get that documented and need an excellent law firm referral let me know. The law firm will require a notarized copy of that document. Time is running out quickly, do this as soon as you are able.
