Diablo 2 - Cave (HQ)
Diablo One Two Three Four Five I II III IV V HQ High Quality Definition Music Theme Song Cave El Rune Necromancer Sorceress Barbarian Paladin Druid Assassin Amazon Witchdoctor Wizard Warrior Fighter Barb Necro Sorc Zon Pally PvP MMO Blizzard RPG PvE Matt Uelmen Act Video Online Game Soundtrack Sound Track
The music in this game has a serious psychological effect. It's terrifying, truly makes you feel like the world is ending.
True, but in Diablo 1 was even worst, very depressing
And also that you fight with REAL evil. But somehow, going deeper and further, killing thousands of demons and beasts doesn't make you feel heroic or that you are winning, the more you touch those things, the more you are just present in those filthy tombs and forests the more you loose your pureness and sanity and get stains on yourself that will never go away.
This is the only good song in the entire game. The music is pretty lame in this game compared to the first one.
@@philcollinshill2951 compare that to diablo 3... The music in D2 is awesome, I never played the original diablo so can't comment, I will however take a look (listen) after this comment.
@@philcollinshill2951 D2 music is lame? compared to D1?
You must be on drugs pal,
D2 has one of the best soundtrack as compared to its predecessor and successor.
Best dungeon theme ever. That song makes me feel very unsafe.
Unsafe yet dangeous at the same time :)
+zfoxfire
what?
UNSAFE YET DANGEROUS AT THE SAME TIME @@TheDRODOR
@@ND-yp3sk what?
What?
You expect a generic monster cave and suddenly this insane banger of a track plays. Act 1 is perfect.
It was so perfect that it scared the shit out of me as a kid.
After Act 1 I was not scared at all though. Act 1 just had too many horrifying moments, it was great.
Exploring the monastery, etc.
Finding the harem slaughtered in the palace was pretty horrifying. Also the dungeons in the jungle have really creepy atmosphere, especially if you're taking your time and walking to soak in the ambience instead of sprinting from one fight to the next.
"So, this is where evil hides."
Personally I prefer the Necromancer's "I sense death within this place"
@@jimhuffman9434 I like them both, but then again, Necro and Druid are my favorite classes in D2
Beware The Foul Demon And Beast !
Heh....
Is that All?
It's true :D
I never noticed this until I put headphones in but if you listen closely enough there is panting in the background at 2:52 and 3:05 and 3:15. Sounds like they stuck true to Diablo 1's cave theme in a way, pretty neat.
Thats a great find. This needs more upvotes!
They did this to many Diablo 2 Soundtracks. You can hear in the "Hell" video the distorted noises from the Hell video of Diablo 1. :)
Still the best OST to date. Uelmen is a genius.
Fallout 1 & 2 is the best too.
I miss D2's dark atmosphere :(
Are you gonna buy D2 Resurrected??? Looks amazing!
@@_InfinEddie ur amazing😘
@@_InfinEddie just found my second shako offline on d2r in the pit with this song on full blast. this, kurast docks, and the desert 'black hawk down' music are my big 3
That moment when you thought you were killing easy zombies, and the blue zombie guy pops up.....
+The one Jäger Meister Sounds like you were....
Caught in the Corpsefire
+The one Jäger Meister --- Corpsefire . . . a zombie with the power of the sun.
I guess he.....Praised the sun.
lmao 🤣😆🤣🤣🤣🤣
talking about burning dead in den of evil?
this is amazing first dungeon gets you pumped and scared at the same time childhood memorys
so fucking genius. Some how this piece "sounds like a cave", what an artist. Sounds so natural and fitting like it already existed before it was even created
Nothing here "sounds like a cave". It just an association since we used to hear this in that environment, and also the track title.
@@Dataraptor-v9l I think the soundtrack is designed to emulate the environment. That is what makes an immersive soundtrack. So I disagree, I think there are plenty of elements in this that emulate a cave. Even the "eco" sounds emulate a cave since caves have "eco" sounds. I bet we could find several resemblances if I was more trained in sound engineering. Like caves are dark and there are several dissonances. Dissonance is naturally somewhat disturbing / distressing, and caves can be distressing as well.
@@theothercuber Fair points
@@Dataraptor-v9l But I agree, it doesn't sound like an actual cave, just kind of emulates it
I think sounds that could be used to emulate cave feeling are: low-drones, that try to sound like air slowly moving through the tunnels; echo or reverb, to emulate the distorsion produces by the size of the cave and it's acoustucs; strange patterns of drum and strings, that convey the sound of hidden crearures moving arounds; and high pitched percussion instruments (like the triangle) that sound like dropplets of water falling in tiny poodles. I think this soundtrack does it quite quite well. And some melodic motiffs that the player can relate so it feels that something human is in there (even if that human thing it's you).
It was the drumming in this song that actually inspired me to learn to play the drums.
That feeling is gone in Diablo 3...
Avataq Jensen yes, they completely scrapped the (truly) dark vibes for a more complacent, easygoing (almost WOW type) feel. I can't personally say I hated D3 but there are elements that clearly lack...
Honestly I play both but I refuse to even call them the same franchise
@@dylr5424 the same thing happened to Starcraft. It is bizarre how epic those old games were, how they created an atmosphere with limited tools at their disposal, and modern just simply sucks despite having absurdly superior tools by comparison.
@@Zarrov This is mostly due to the fact (in both cases) that the original teams who did their respective games are long gone. Diablo 3/StarCraft 2 were done by completely new people who had no experience in those franchises, and instead of designing a great game experience first and foremost, the new team, under Activision's watch, put money before anything else. And even tried monetizing the core Diablo loot drop loop/system.
They just cater to casual kids and grown manchildren who will complain if they see blood and guts and demons.
There is always one goddamn enemy left in the cave that you can't find
7 quill rats and a fallen disliked this video
lol )
2 more quill rats, another fallen, a zombie, and a gargantuan beast disliked this video.
Wrong. There is still only 8 dislikes. Even if someone else dislikes it. It will always be 8 dislikes. I say that to cover the angle of someone disliking this video after reading this message.
Are you aware that there are no quill rats in the cave?
Raka needs you!
When music isn't good because of nostalgia, it's good because it's good. Fits the game so well.
"My duty here is done."
I believe this track is so climatic thanks to the choir that seems to sing in reverse. It hints the presence of demonic activity which manifests by disrupting the natural order of things. And these drums are sweet, they greatly enhance gameplay experience.
1:02 no words cant describe this
I am over burdened.
good enough?
Amazing drums...
the hero arrives and begins to battle evil
That rising choir is absolutely epic.
And the echoey percussion gives it an eery and atmospheric vibe. The pattering of the drums sounds like creatures moving but can't be seen. It's a pretty chaotic composition and suits the caves perfectly in D2
"There is a place of great evil in the wilderness. Kashya's Rogue scouts have informed me that a cave nearby is filled with shadowy creatures and horrors from beyond the grave. I fear that these creatures are massing for an attack against our encampment. If you are sincere about helping us, find the dark labyrinth and destroy the foul beasts. May the Great Eye watch over you."
Ken Wu hahaha good one
Hands down D1 and D2 has the best music.
Even to this day...all the memories this song evokes from when I played as Necro.
RAKANISHU!
*SLASH*
UUEEEH!!
COLENZO!!
I can hear this comment
bishibosh
"...This place is trouble"
THIS GAME NEVER GETS OLD
I still remember when I was 14 and played Diablo 2 for the first time and I found the Den of Evil and this music played and I just thought, "This game is SERIOUS about what's going on!"
So good. So damn good.
I am overburdened
I need more mana.
I can't use this yet
IM OVER BURDENED
IM OVER BURDENED
IM OVER BURDENED

IM OVER BURDENED
This game didnt just have atmosphere, it had ATMOSPHERE
My favorite track in the game.
Childhood....(:
Beware foul demons and beasts...
:-)
The Cave i think was the one track that really stuck with me from the entire game. God that damn blue zombie, what was his name? Coldfire? ah, Corpsefire. I knew it was something to do with fire
i want this kind of music in d4
I want this kind of _game_ in d4
meh d4, wait for D2 Resurrected
@@coledoco7841 If Resurrected is anything like W3 Reforged, I'll pass.
Based
My favorite Diablo 2 theme. People who remember Diablo 2 development now they started with Act 1 the firest and becaus that, looks "oldie" comparing the rest. This song is the only one of Diablo 2 IMO who bring the feelings from Diablo 1
Cool fact, the music in Auchindoun in tbc was for the original Diablo 3, it was composed by Matt Uelmen too and sounds like this.
"I hear foul creatures about...."
d2 was iconic
1:02 that moment where you rolled the highest initiative inside a undead skeleton dungeon and you roll a 1 for attack!
And then that skeleton you attacked rolled a Nat 20
1:02
When you enter a horrifying Demon world where you will lose your sanity.
At the time, being able to run around the map like you did in this game was a really big deal! That's what makes the drums at 1:03 so badass, they communicate that momentum!
Playing Diablo II Resurrected right now 🎧
Dude what an eerie soundtrack... it's amazing.
There are many foes here.
it was actually Baal and 3 of his clones who disliked this video.
Incredible music.
Thumbs up if you think Rakanishu sounds like a pokemon.
This is what my childhood sounded like.
"There are many foes here."
this was the song youd here in the lobby of the original diablo 2 before LOD. I was sad to see it go when LOD came out. THanks for posting it yo.
0:39 love the diabolical laugh
I hear no laugh.
I'm fairly certain this took a lot of influence from Rachmaninoff's haunting piano style, particularly the beginning of Prelude in C Sharp Minor
For me 2:44 the best part, run in to the darkness.
"I sense...death within this place"
The best Daiblo series music, after the D1 dungeon theme.
That's Uelmen music for you. It's really good
Octavian and Marina randomly shout out, "WE'RE NOT OCTO-ROCKS!!!"
There Are Many Foes Around Here
This is why you carry a full Tome of Town Portal with you at all times.
_"Ze healing hurts, ze hurting… heals!"_
Oh god how I hated the gargantuan beasts in act I... I remember having nightmares when I was kid x.x
the three first piano notes scared me the shit when i was young o.o
RAKIDISHU!
Indeed! i sometimes stood there and listened to the song even tho i was done with the quest
This is claustrophobia, in musical form.
Seriously, don't listen to this song while on shrooms. I was literally crying for an hour.
+Iridionprime someones an uptight little bitch...
Now I know what to listen to on my next trip
are you for real? shit
@Vajrawielder who the fuck mentioned pot, clown? the topic was shrooms
@@Cd5ssmffan yeah from like a year ago
This music feels like it reminds of a sacred, yet firey afterplane of some sort.
Indeed. It's so sad we only hear it during that one quest.
evil dwells within my pants when i hear this track
on my study playlist helps me concentrate :)
Had to turn on the lights in my room while listening to this *shiver*
I AM OVER BURDENED
This music plays in the Tomb of Lights in wow out in the bone wastes in outlands.
2:38 gets me everytime, fucking popup notification.
@evangel14 This song is still present in LOD -> act 3 -> spider cave, but nobody does all the quests in act 3 no more...
iam just NOW! Installing again the D2 LOD Series! i got there an Overpowered Sorc...hope to see her again
That's why i loved the game so much! ):
D1's music gives the horrors. D2's gives the action, personally l find very few in this game horrifying, instead they keep me going to kill more and more. Regardless, music unique on its own.
I'm "new" to diablo, I'm planning on picking up 4 and I bought 3/2 as a cheap bundle about a year or 2 ago. Never did play much of 3 and I'd never played 2 because i figured it was "too old" and I'm only planning on getting 4 because the beta made a good impression, I decided to revisit 3, and compare it to 2 and I was floored by how much more I like 2, 3 in comparison just doesn't do it for me. I already have more time in 2 than 3 and I've only been playing for like a week.
Glad to hear that 🤗
I hope D2 gives you all you can get that so much so we enjoy it over 23 years ago and still play it today
I recommend D2 and not D2:R as it does many Bethesda like fallout 76 things with the lore and story all for the sake of "upgrading the graphics"
D2 is not a game
It is life
0:10- 0:15! 3 piano hits like steps telling you that "you enter the diablo game"
Fucking Diablo II, so perfect :'(
RIP
As long as people play, it isn't dead
diablo 2 is immortal, why are people upvoting the rip shit
Looks like Andariel, Duriel, Mephisto, and Diablo all disliked this video. Where's Baal's dislike?

@1Chazza1 some of the tracks are very alike to Auchindoun. It's not exact though
who ever did the drums in this song cpngrats love the sickning thud sound
You can feel the "Evil" in this song
*I love this song*
Song that made me feel like I needed to gather my party and venture forth
I like to play this in my car after work during the night, as I’m going home.
wow! i like this music...i want copy this music^^thank you for sharring
Five monsters left.
