He wrote Arkangel to intro of Buffy so it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if he’s taken inspiration from it. If you listen carefully you can even hear a synth or something that sounds VERY similar to the lead melody from the Batman intro.

@@bingusfan2087 completely agree. still a good song overall but the instrumental sounds kinda off, the amount of effects that were added wash out jacob’s vocals, and that sample of the girl talking got lost in the mix. i wish they hadn’t changed it tbh, the original version was perfect as it was imo
I really hope that Thornhill can finally get the love they deserve after this coming album, they deserve to be top of charts type band, they’re SOOO good
They used to be incredible with Butterfly EP, and The Dark Pool, but they are dead to me now! They went from one of my top fav bands to completely off the radar for their downgrade in music quality with the drums, the guitars, and the vocals are ruined. Havent even listed to this new song yet, but if it's anything like every single song since dark pool, count me out!
@benenderby4027 Actually, they were very unique before, had their own sound, it was groundbreaking, it had the best riffs, and grooves, the drums were top-tier, and the influences they incorporated into their music made it stand out among other metal albums because it was a fusion of like soundscape atmospheric stuff with like a choir effect on the amazing layers of vocals! Now, it's the exact opposite, the drums are nothing special, the guitars are missing the beastly grooves, they changed their sound so much that they are unrecognizable, they sounded like they were trying to be similar to Deftones and stuff, and the vocals are awful now, the mix, his voice doesn't sound the same, it's much less impactful, worse style, and also gets fucking buried in the production. Copying this Deftones type style bs instead of their original sound is the wrong direction

This band just keeps getting better and better. A breath of fresh air in a scene that, for the most part, still clings to the same old and played-out metalcore formula: harsh vocals, clean vocals, breakdown. Tbh I'm glad they're ditching the limits of their original sound and sort of embracing their identity as a great alt metal band in general. I like their first album, but to me, this feels like a real evolution.

This is going to be one of the best albums of 2025 🔥 There is no other band out there that is hitting the hauntingly beautiful atmospheric groove levels as good as they are.
