- Chapter 2 of the 10 speed M670 shifter rebuild. Level hard.
I've got more bike parts than bikes! This channel gives me a reason to buy another bike part and to keep working on bikes. "Une raison d'etre" if you will.
Please suscribe if I helped you, so I can make longer videos instead of making 2 part videos.
Love bikes, components aswell as the history of cycling. Specifically 1980's and 1990's MTB's. Something about the adventure, using a 2 wheeled device that allows you to freely go where you want, was my attraction to cycling.
Great instructional video - thanks for that. I was able to rebuild a shifter that had fallen apart - SL-M670-B right-hand shifters are a nightmare to get hold of. Thanks again
Thank you. The dismantling and assembling tips were extremely helpful. Keeping the video in focus on the small parts was great.
Brilliant Videos! Thank you!
It took me about 8 hours, but my eyesight isn't as good as it was! I took it apart and rebuilt it multiple times. Some of those components are like old friends. LOL. Thanks very much for your videos. They made the impossible possible.
Good to hear you got there in the end. This one is hard, I do wonder how they assemble these in the factory. No doubt it’s done in 2 minutes
Thank you very much for doing this video mate I just bought a pair of Shimano SLX spares and repairs and I've just repaired them watching your video they're a decent set 10-speed so thank you very much mate keep up the great work I know I won't volunteer in a bike shop but some things I just don't tackle I certainly will do now
I have a M610 which looks near identical and the nut had come loose on a ride, didn't want to mess with it till I got home. The nut and threads seemed really oily and the press tabs were not stopping the nut from turning so I took it off to degrease and as I did, 'boing' the the lever came off the spring. Scratching my head how to reassemble and tension it, this video looks really helpful, thanks.
If it’s just the lever, shouldn’t be too hard to figure out. As for the nut, best bet is some loctite. Possibly even glue to hold it in place, but from a Pro Stand point, loctite or any alternative. Gd luck
Thank you. That screw you put the nut on when rebuilding fell off of mine. Now the whole shifter spins around while shifting.
I had that screw come off and of course the spring as well... thanks for that tutorial would have been completely lost especially with that spring 🤣 - I just put some loctite on the screw to block it completely as those 4 edges don't see to do a good trick...
thank friend
Thank you for this tutorial
Very helpfull
Great video, do you have one for the left hand SL-M670 2/3 x 10 shifter?
I'm searching that too. But it's pretty much the same, I can say. Today I disassembled it fully, and this video will help me get it rebuilt
