Wow, very informative. Yeah, I subscribed :+). That security check at Terminal 4 even though you have a connecting flight was a surprise. My family of 4 have a 1 hr and 45 minute layover.
This video was so helpful! We will be flying from Düsseldorf to San José, with an layover in Madrid for only one hour. We also have to go from T4 to T4S. So thanks a lot for this really informative video :)
Excellent video. You studied your homework regarding connecting flights very well. If we will take Iberia from the US to Venice next year, then the schedule has 1hr 35 minutes to transfer in Madrid to another Iberia flight. You were able to connect quite smoothly but your first flight was ahead of time. We are worried because this will be the first flight that we will take with a very short connecting time. Usually we have 3 up to 5 hours layover. It seems like the airport has good signs regarding transfer and tram trip is not that long.We just hope that our first flight from LAX will be on time and just get out of the plane first and quick. Are there Iberia personnel that help people transferring to the next flight. Taipei airport has more than 6 people helping from the time you get out of the plane anytime of the day up to security. Thanks for the video.
This video was so helpful and very informative. Ill fly London to Madrid, T4 to T4S because i will take another airplane to Habana, I have two hours between my arrival and my second flight, and iwill travel with an ederly person ,do you think it's time enough to pass the controls and that stuff? Thanks a lot!!!This has been very helpful!
So glad the video was helpful. Let's see, 2 hours should be enough to get to your next flight. But, these things always depend on so many factors... if other planes arrived at the same time as yours, how quickly you can walk, if there are many people at security, etc and now with covid you never know if you'll encounter a crowd or nobody at all. My tip is that once you get off the first plane, go straight to the next one. Don't go shopping, don't get food or drinks, go straight and then, once you are at your gate for the 2nd flight, then you can get a drink, food or whatever. I recommend this because you never know how far your gate is going to be so it is better to be on the safe side. It is also a good idea to travel light, with few bags to carry so there is less to worry about and not as strenuous Hope this helps. Have a great trip!
@@MuchoHopif you do check in luggage from Boston to Madrid on Iberia and then a connect flight to Portugal, are the checked in bags automatically carried over to the connecting flight?
Greatly informative video thanks. We're doing this transit (4S to 4) but from Rio going to Las Palmas. We only have an hour but flights are Iberia & Iberia Express. Can we do immigration as well in this time I wonder... we have no baggage to transfer. I'm hoping Iberia will get us on the next flight if the inbound is late or we don't make the transit in the hour...
Yes!!! The next two videos are going to be of A Coruña!!!! It is such a beautiful city and my birthplace!! I hope I can do it justice. Coming soon. Saludos

Wouldn't your checked luggage have been transferred from the arriving airplane to your departing airplane since you have flown within the European Union?
The checked luggage is transferred if both flights are with the same airline or partner, not because you are flying within the European Union. If you fly within the EU you don't have to go through customs. That is probably what you meant. What I was trying to say in the video, is that when there is only an hour between flights, sometimes it is not enough time for the checked luggage to be transferred to the next plane. I'm talking about the airport staff or the automated system of the airport, I'm not talking about the passenger transferring the luggage. I hope I cleared this up. Thanks for watching!
Can you help me ,im going from lisbon Portugal to Rio de Janeiro Brasil and i have to stop for 3 hours in Madrid aeroport and change from terminal 4 to terminal 4s . My question is,Will my chechecd luggage be transfered to my departure plane? Im flying with iberia all the way
We are coming in from Dominican Republic so at T4S I expect we have passport control as added point before proceeding to T4, train and security. Surely if the airline accept your booking there should be enough time?
Hello thank you for the video, I have to land in Madrid from Bogota, and then take my next plane to Barcelona, when you arrive in Madrid do you have to go through immigration and then customs ? or that process is made one I arrive in Barcelona ?
So you made it. For someone who might try this for the first time, they are going to have trouble because you cannot afford to make one mistake. No for the faint hearted.
Yes, indeed. I always recommend, as soon as you have a doubt, ASK. You don't have time to waste. Travel has become very stressful these days. That is also because people want things here and now!
first video that I watched from you, and you are the first UA-cam that really recorded what a travel is about! Amazing job! Thank you for the info!
Thank you for this video. It really helped me with my one hour layover in Madrid.
Thanks for easing some upcoming transfer anxiety for T4S to T4.
Great it came in handy!! Thanks for letting me know!
I've got a connection thru Madrid next week with a short layover and the same terminal change- 4S to 4 . This has been very helpful!

Cool to hear; how is it possible that Munich airport promotes a transit time of just 30 minutes for connecting flights?
It all depends on how big the airport is. Barajas Airport is HUGE! You saw in the video that it takes at least 20 minutes to get to some gates.
