    I was on 3-4 mg a day for over 5 years. Started having stomach pains. Decided to check into rehab and took 2 weeks. Wasn't easy. Got home and for at least a month my reflexes were hyper like a superhero and I was thinking and talking fast as hell. Haven't had anything in a year. Feelin great.

    Glad you're off. I took Xanax 4 years thinking I would have to take it for the rest of my life. I hit tolerance withdrawal a couple of months ago, tapered and quit since then. Even though I'm suffering through PAWS at the moment it was a blessing in disguise. I now know how to deal with my anxiety and a panic attack if I get one. It feels so good knowing I don't need a pill to calm me down. Our bodies are beautiful machines and we do heal. I'll never touch a benzo again. Doctors have no idea what benzos do to our brains and keep prescribing them. Such a shame. Just discovered your channel, keep at it!

    I'm one of those who REALLY understands exactly what you went through withdrawing off of the Klonopin, I was on it for 28 years 2mg per day. It's so brutal mentally and physically, it was the reason why my testosterone started plummeting. I couldn't withdraw slow enough and my doctor kept telling me to just stop cold turkey. I had to rely on myself to safely come off, even found supplements to help that are specifically designed to help with benzo withdrawal. Anyone who can successfully withdrawal off a benzo is mentally tough and if evidence you no longer need it anymore. I've read a lot of reports that claim people who take benzo long term will notice once they successfully come off their in a better position mentally than they were before they started taking them. /You're one tough cookie bignoknow, Congratulations!

    What great timing. I just came off of .5 mg klonopin every 1-2 days (I took it once every 4-6 weeks for years, but started taking it daily about 8 months ago). Its been 3 weeks, and I feel like a new person. Withdrawals were awful, but I'm actually much more stable in my anxiety. I was having 1-2 panic episodes per week on klonopin. It was getting to the point where the time between doses was inducing panic. Thus, the rebound anxiety as my body metabolized klonopin was causing me to take more. I'm so glad I am off of it. I'm proud to say that I haven't had a true panic attack since my last dose.

      Mike L You're right. But it's not just the anxiety meds. The medical industry has conditioned us into believing that it is perfectly normal to be on something, whether it's meds for blood pressure, cholestrol, etc. The US is the only other country besides New Zealand where script meds are advertised on tv. Is it any wonder that 70% of Americans are on at least one pill.

      @@AngiePeacockMSW I hate benzos. I am prescribed them but I can pee clean right now. Kindling happends when you are irresponsible with the drug I was told. I kindled myself when I refused to take them anymore and didnt want to reinstate and taper even though I eventually did. Quitting with an active script and all your meds filled is hard. Its a personal choice. I really like knowing I have them in case I get into a position where its inpatient or taking a pill. I have been there fairly recently and I dont knock this guy for it. If he tapered himself and followed the rules you have to respect that he feels he has the power and not the drug. I know many people that quit smoking pot in the sixties and seventies but still held on to a wooden box with pipe and swag in it. Same thing. The fact he is playing with the bottle and rubbing his face with them makes me think though. Its making him gitty and giving him a rush. Time will tell. lol

    Currently, clonazepam is like an absolute blessing. Since I'm 14 yrs old I freeze and almost got an exploding heart. Palpitations that can't be stop for a decade by any beta-blockers but got stopped by Clonazepam. I've been suffering from anxiety disorder and full blown panic attacks and this clonazepam is just so amazing. I'm 25 I'm on and off of this drug. If people just don't abuse this drug, this drug is a life saver.

    I was prescribed 4mg a day for a couple years. It took me about 9 months of tapering to get off. At about the .5mg a day point, the withdrawal started seriously. Brain zaps, sleep disturbances, mild hallucinatory dream like states. Sinus and face burning and pain. Benxo withdrawal is no joke. It feels like your life is over. I honestly can't believe this stuff is so easily prescribed to so many people. I'm about a year out and still have episodes of withdrawal, but they are getting much milder, less often, and much more manageable. I have weeks of feeling great and normal, between minor withdrawal episodes. Its a long road. But can be done. Your brain will return too normal. Anyone going through it MUST remember that.

    • @Bagelstorm
      @Bagelstorm 6 років тому +1

      Antidepressants are bad man, only cause more problems in the end. Anti-anxiety pills can be good short term but being dependent on them could lead to seizures and death

    • @Bagelstorm
      @Bagelstorm 6 років тому +2

      No drug is good to take your whole life, are you planning on taking anti depressants for 10-20+ years? It might take years before side effects start showing

    • @Bagelstorm
      @Bagelstorm 6 років тому +2

      I said side effects, and meant bad ones. No anti depressants take years to work. They should work in a few weeks to months, but the more you use them, the more dependent you get on them. It will be hard to come off them if you use them for a long time. They only cause more problems in the end, sorry you have to resort to pills to be happy temporarily. You will be much worse than you started off when you try to quit them, and they will cause you to have health problems if you don't. Just saying this from experience with family members who have been hooked on anti-depressants.

      Woo wo wooo,hang on Fallout..a 1 year taper and you just assume the Gaba receptors are still down-regulated..Back to benzobuddies for you champ.....YOUR URGE TO DRINK WILL INCREASE...I just couldnt find the nuero-chemical diploma you obviously have,attatched anywhere............Did you even listen to his dosage and history...Man,you are dangerous.......99.9 % of everybody heals,the anxiety that comes back could be-huh-what you had to begin with........Exercise and more exercise.....Posts like yours can really stuff people up....Think before you post.

    • @Fallout3ProHunter
      @Fallout3ProHunter 7 років тому +2

      brett jackman im sorry, what's your background in Neurology? He did a 1 year Taper, doesn't matter if the dosage was less than he started with he was still on a GABA agonist blocking his receptors, any up-regulation that occurred is still not near his pre-benzo baseline. Obviously, it being documented, if your brain is used to a GABA drug it will crave a GABA drug, quitting Benzos is related to an increase in drinking. Let me guess, you also think serotonin receptors quickly up-regulate to normal levels after SSRI use?

    Just started klonopin.5mg 2 x day. It scares the hell out of me, but it's the only thing that almost makes feel normal due to my depression and anxiety. Within 5 days I feel I need it. I'm also on 100mg of sertraline, but I don't find it doing anything and I've been on it for about 2 1/2 months. Doctors don't know the problem because studies are influenced or concealed by pharma. A benzo alters neurons within 6 weeks. After a few months of use a taper must be no faster than 10pct of current dose each 2 weeks or the neurons are damaged; so a safe taper can require more than a year. It's not a mental or spiritual or toughness issue; it's neurology.
    There are too many suicides by people who used rx benzos for years then stopped quickly, resulting in years of hell until it's too much. Restarting is usually the wrong thing since the neurons have changed. There is a lot of dangerous advice that can ruin a life. A doctor needs to consult pharmacology experts.

    I had women offer certain favors for my klonopin while in-patient, which made me feel like I was in a PSA. But, I'd been having ants under the skin non-stop for a month, and klonopin was the only thing that stopped it. Like anything, it can be a blessing or a curse, but I'm glad that it's an option if I really need it. Yes, it does have the potential for addiction and withdrawal, but all of life is a cost/benefit analysis.

    My doctor has been prescribing me 4mg of Klonopin a day for eight years. I went into his office Tuesday to get my Klonopin refilled, and he told me the DEA was down his throat about over prescribing narcotics to his patients. He then told me that he was cutting my 4mg to 2mg. I have my last regular dose today, then I go down to 2. After the month is up he is bringing me down to 1mg, then none. I'm scared to death! I've came off 1mg when I was locked up for having Suboxone on me. I've been clean for four years now. I'm scared this rapid taper is going to mess up my sobriety. I don't think doctor's should be allowed to cut you off this type of medication so fast. I'm looking forward to being off it finally, but not this way. The detox from benzo's is hell on earth!

      I ended up getting it prescribed from a different doctor, but I decide to taper off of it. I went slow and I experienced no withdrawal symptoms. After I got off of it I found out I didn't even have anxiety. It was the Klonopin giving me anxiety. I'm so glad top be off of it. If you're prescribed it I highly recommend you taper off slowly!
