Frequently Asked Questions: 1. What clay do you use? I use a paper clay. I either buy it or make my own depending on what I want to create 2. What's the difference between the bought paper clay ( amzn.to/2r5FEHY ) and the homemade paper clay (A) ua-cam.com/video/LkYGfBz_MTU/v-deo.html (B) ua-cam.com/video/_Ef-U6aZEoI/v-deo.html ? The homemade one is not that soft and is only good for textured surfaces like stones and tree bark. It is very cheap to make so it might worth to sand it and work it a little more than buying a paper clay. However, you can't keep it more than 5 to 7 days in the fridge. It has the best consistency when you just made it and it's fresh, so I would recommend you use it in the same day or the next and don't make more than you need 3. Can I use air dry clay? What's the difference between air dry clay and paper clay? Often times shops will sell both paper clay and ceramic clay with the same label "air dry clay". It's true, both are air hardening but there are quite a few differences: air dry clay(ceramic clay) is actually mud, natural clay, while paper clay is made with cellulose and other ingredients. Paper clay is stronger than air dry clay(ceramic clay). Air dry clay (ceramic clay) shrinks and the paper clay does not shrink. This is why paper clay is the better choice for my kind of projects. My projects usually require you to cover a jar or a plastic bottle. If the air dry clay shrinks and the bottle or jar remain the same size... you guessed it... your air dry clay will crack all around. It might be a lot cheaper but it's not what you need for these projects. 4. My clay cracks, how do you cover the cracks? You don't, you change your air dry clay to a paper clay! See why at the previous question 5. How to waterproof my paper clay creations? I recommend using a yacht varnish. Apply a few coats and make sure you cover it all around so no water touches your clay 6. What brand of paper clay do you use? I use "Das modelling material" - amzn.to/2r5FEHY 7. Where can I see the list of materials? As a general rule of my channel... READ MY VIDEO DESCRIPTIONS! I write it for you guys, is no secret what I use. For every video I write a description of what I do and what I use. 8. Do you sell your creations? No, not yet, my daughter loves them too much. 9. What colors do you use? I mostly use watercolors and acrylic paint.
Saw your fairy house from cardboard half an hour ago. I'm enchanted. Can't stop watching although I'm very sleepy. Music is also perfect. I sent your channel to my daughter. Sending the fairy house vid to my dear persons, because of music and your golden hands. Very inspiring and positive. You are a true artist 💟
Hello, I wrote about the PROCESS and the MATERIALS in the VIDEO DESCRIPTION. Check it out! I might not be able to answer all your questions so before asking me something in the comments section make sure I didn't already answered that question. Thank you!
Hello...just love the stuff that you do...can't wait to try something myself...my question is where do I find the video description?...new to this so very sorry if it sounds like a stupid question
Absolutely amazing! Fast video made it so much fun to watch. Your also one of the most informative people I have had the pleasure of " accidentally " finding on UA-cam. Your description and Q and A is wonderfully refreshing, helpful and thorough. THANK YOU. I had to subscribe. I have never played with clay, but now I have to try. Looks like fun😊👍👏
No, paper clay needs to be coated with something. I sometimes use a couple of layers of matte yacht varnish. Make sure to coat them well so the water doesn't touch the clay
Creative Mom, I love your creative genius! These projects are so fun! My family came while I was watching. All of us, were totally inspired! Thank you! More please!
I’m 34, Married with 2 boys and a beginner and I just bought A Air drying set of 26 colours x2 as I want to make a Butterfly / Fairy garden but needs to be waterproof - I’m wanting in in memory for my son and daughter I lost. This is the description that was with my Clay I bought - but I have bought some clay tools just to help me out and iv bought some strong hold glue as I want it to stick to terracotta pots The type of Brand Of Clay I bought is “ Magiclay - Candy Colours (has black and white in the Kit also) Magiclay is a colourful lightweight, soft and elastic type modelling compound it air dries within hours resembling a paper-like texture. Keep Magiclay in the tubs provided to keep it airtight, as once left out it will dry fast. It will bond wet to dry, so you require no adhesives. No tools are required to mould it in to shape, as it can be pulled, stretched, rolled, shaped, cut, stamped and pressed to suit a wide variety of art projects. As I’m a MP soaper, candle and tart maker as well as other natural products I have Mica powder colours and liquid soap colours and candle candle blocks

Absolutely adorable! Just came upon your channel and love it. Now a new subscriber and looking forward to watching some of your other videos I've missed.
wanted to watch this last night but fell asleep doing something else, but watched it this morning and all I have to say is you've got some serious talent.
+MG OC Ha, it's funny because my background is all about making big stuff in styrofoam. We started making small things when the baby came along. If you want to see some big stuff we made you can check out our Facebook page Decupaje Polistiren
Glad that i found you.. i love doing air dry clay projects but could not find much videos about airdry clay. U really inspired me to do a lot. Please make more air dry clay projects. Love your creations.. how to soften airdry clay? I use the same kind of clay u use but mine is hard to work with and it cracks in few parts after drying.
Make sure you use a paperclay, I use "das modelling material" but you can find also Keraplast from Koh-I-Noor. Works just as well. If you have the same kind of clay it should not crack. The natural air dry clays are cracking because they shrink and when you cover a jar you can have this problem
Thank you. I have one tip for you if you are a beginner. Work in layers! First layer just covers the jar. Let it dry and then add volume to the nose, lips, cheeks, eyes. It's up to your modelling skills so practice and they will get better and better. Have fun!
I really don't understand why people are giving your work the thumbs down you are amazing you do realize ive only just discovered you and am going to be up all night now looking at your videos lol
Amazing!!! Also, I wondered if it possible to make face on terracotta pot for my plants? Or if possible you can make a tutorial? Just love watching how you create it! 😁👍
LOL...these are SO adorable!!! I wish the video speed was just a little slower...as I'm still learning to make the cute faces like you did! = ) Would you be able to bake these with clay that's oven baked? (wasn't sure because of the glass)
Thank you for this great DIY! I just finished my gnome. I used the diy clay, which you show in another video, and it worked out pretty nice! It's also a nice methode to work on with children/adolescent! It's a pity I cannot upload my picture of my lovely, sleeping gnome... ;) Greetings from Vienna!

+Meetali Ghosh Hi, thank you for your comment and appreciation. Google "das modelling material" it's a great clay for this kind of projects. It won't crack. Drying time depends on how thick the layer of the clay is. I usually leave it dry overnight. Have fun with your projects!
+Angela Fullstone Thank you! No, but you can coat them with a couple of layers of varnish. Make sure you cover them well so the water doesn't touch the clay
