- Hear DW’s Rich Sikra and Dave Coons and Roland’s Masahiro Minowa share how the companies collaborated to develop and deliver best-in-class acoustic-electronic drums, while DW artist Thomas Lang demonstrates the handcrafted quality and sonic possibilities of DWe drums. Every DWe kit is precision-crafted by DW in California and leverages generations of Roland’s electronic quality standards.

I love how Lang has to hold back 60% of his ability to make sure he doesn't show the kit's weak spots.
There was NO SOUND OF HIM ! He didn't play , kinda weird?
0:53 should be triggering open/closed open/closed open/close. Instead it’s closed/closed closed/closed. I think bring truthful about these drums shortcomings and improving them will sell way more of them.
Ordered my on 11/2. Can't wait. Wish I knew when they will be shipped.
very cool!
Soooo sickk 🧨✔️
It reminds me of a quote I heard from the movie Robots, by one of the characters, Bigweld: “You know, I like to tinker. But all the tinkering in the world isn’t useful unless it starts with a good idea. So, look around for a need, and start coming up with ideas to fill that need. One idea will lead to another, and before you know it…you’ve done it!! See a need, fill a need.”
yeah but was there really a need for a 10K e-kit?
As long as you slap a DW badge on it, I guess @@danflak2370
❤❤❤
I really wish someone would post a video of what it sounds like without the drum sounds so we could get an idea of how loud it is. I know they say it's not quiet, but how "loud" it actually is.

I have heard them without sounds. The drums are as quiet as any Roland mesh head. The cymbals make some sound.. similar to a wooden table top hit with a drum stick with a plastic tip . 🥁

@@AlVelasquezDrumsno rubber on rims either
This is call the “ 🥁🔔DRUM DREAM “
❤👏👏👏👊
where is John Good......
*Thats cool and all, but why wouldn’t I just play a normal acoustic kit over this thing?*
Electric has more potential than acoustic
Consistency, especially in live/touring settings where you only have one chance to mix
Been doing a lot of research on these drums, trying to answer that question. Played one on several separate visits at my local supplier. Here are some things i came upon;
Please don't send snide comments, I am only sincerely sharing my experience...I realize these things are very spendy...
The kit can be played Acoustic or digital, so one still has a very high end Acoustic kit. I imagine head swap and tune would take an hour or so.
There are many kits. DW, Slingerland, Gretsch. With likely many more packs on the way . They have been sampled through many very high quality microphones. All of which you have access to.
Drops volume.
I play small rooms. There and at rehearsal, I constantly have to hit lightly so as to not worsen my tinnitus or blow my band mates heads off. This affects my ability to play well a lot of the time. I can't wear headphones at rehearsal or gigs as I need to hear the band naturally as well as my vocal mix or my performance suffers.
Set list and tunable kits.
One has the potential to tune their toms to every key to every song in a set list if desired.
I will likely buy one and trade in a couple of my acoustic kits. I can sample my kits before I trade...with as many mics as I want ...within reason, and then I'll still have a representation of the kits I've traded and was attached to...kinda cool.
You can build your own sorta Frankenstein kit w single instrument from any of the sample kits.
Snare buzz....they thought of everything. You can assign varying amounts of sympathetic snare buzz from all other drums.
Reverb, echo, compression,
Ambient mics and overheads...these things all mean i can have huge sound at shows and inspire me mates at practice.
There are many other reasons. The 9 part DWe tutorials are pretty good at revealing potential.
Hope this gives some insight.
I'm gonna try one. If I don't like it, I can return it. Will be interesting to hear what it sounds like at rehearsal.
To your continued drumming success!
I thought Roland bought DW? My guess, $8,000.00 USD? Oh, and your going to need a great sounding P.A. or amp.
Nailed it. And a computer that’s sufficiently powerful enough to run the software.
There was NO SOUND OF HIM ! He didn't play , kinda weird? 10K for a 4 piece drum set can we hear it played by a powerful drummer? False triggering an issue?
Yours for $20,000 😂
Machine gun toms… so nope…
Nah.
Cymbals sound so terrible.
Drum kits have been wireless since humans were drumming. As far as ekits go, these things drop samples like a fucker and sound even worse than this through any PA. Why launch this 10k monstrosity? Sensory percussion is better bang for your buck, and it actually functions as intended with more crossover opportunity. This is just an overpriced, overmarketed, worse version of any EFnote kit you can find. Want great sound and feel? Play real drums.
This all well and good and DW Drums have been at the forefront of drums since the inception, but when you introduce a line that is OUTSIDE the budget of most aspiring and even bands who are touring with a budget that would want but can't afford this technology, that is a shame. Stop being greedy, technology has come a long way to not rip people off.
😂😂😂😂😂😂 what a joke you would expect one of the best drum samples DW could offer yet sounds like a 2010 roland module 🥲
It doesn’t, this video doesn’t showcase it, but it’s a full fledged drum sample suite.
Well, you would think they would come out with their best sounding samples. Trying to sell an instrument with subpar SOUND is a strange decision.
@@mellowtron214my church bought them and returned them. I have the sound works on my computer. It’s a decent VST but straight up, for stage, EFNOTE smokes em period. They will improve though. The snare throw off is definitely cool.
You might be judging to quik , im sure with the headphones on and superior drummer 3 might change your mind jmo 😊
