I tried it and don't think the symbol logic adds much to the puzzle. It feels like you'll almost always have the grey coloring from the first guess and the second one will disambiguate so after the second guess that rule is resolved.

I actually thought of reset while I was editing the video... I think beset came to mind first because I had been thinking 'bough' before that so I already had the B in my head.
@@StroSolves I was thinking beset too when you said it. I get the feeling these variants lean towards the more obscure words.

This is overly complicated and I would never play it. But watching it is so much fun. You have a great way of articulating your thoughts before playing a word. Same with needle, Octordle, keep playing these weird/innovative clones.

This is actually so much easier than it looks if you get the hang of it! I just did three words in a row, and though it was very easy, it was unbelievably satisfying, making you feel like you cracked the Enigma or something
Yeah it’s really not as bad as it seems when you try for yourself
um I think you can see it as a variation of 1A2B, then it is not that hard.

Cool concept. I got the hang of it once I put it in my head that one of the symbols mean "one of the letters from your word you guessed is somewhere in this spot" rather than the classic "a letter from that particular spot is somewhere else"
Then it's just a matter of knowing what each symbol means.

If the 5th symbol is a red cross, then the 5th letter is a T.
If the 5th symbol is a green heart, then the 5th letter is an N.
If the 5th symbol is a pentagon, then the 5th letter is an A.

For octordle, I always start with bears, mound, chalk, and wifty. It gives you a majority of the letters and it is a really efficient strategy. Highly recommend
My starting word is “Rates”. It has the wheel of fortune letters you like to use. I’m new to your channel btw and am loving it! You also got me into wordle.

Since colon is a symbol, it could be a start for symbol wordle
The first twist is really unassuming until your looking for the wrong letter, then you have to step back and say “One of these letters is yellow. The symbol are in order of the final word not guess presented” . For a second I thought the game logic had broken.
Yeah, I've actually seen quite a few people sending the game designer messages thinking the logic is broken because it's just so weird
I think this is my favorite wordle variant. It feels like more of a puzzle.

I have played this once but didn’t get it because sometimes the symbol would be a grey one, (for me a sun) but at the end it would be like “oh this one is in the word but ye”
This game is also called BULLS AND COWS where the cows are the "yellow" and bulls are "green". The only difference in symble and wordle is that you wont know which letter is the green/yellow and must figure that out too
This form of Wordle makes using five non-repeating words so much more powerful, as you can quickly recognize which symbols signify red and yellow. GUCKS, VIBEX, WALTZ, FJORD, NYMPH got me the answer to March 22 in 6 and I didn't even use FJORD.
The rules are: some symbols means there is a letter in your guess which the answer contains and it is in that location
some symbols means that letter is at the correct place
some means the answer does not contains that letter in that space
"It could be the answer" I think you're a prophet
I think HEART and then EARTH are good starting words for this in order to work out the meaning of the symbols
I think this game is actually easier than Wordle, in that there are more likely to be valid words that can do what one is looking for. If one's first response is -*---, then look for a word which puts the letter from the * position in a new location, along with four new letters. This will immediately reveal whether the * indicated the second letter was in the right place (the second character of the clue will become a new shape), or indicated that the second letter of the answer was somewhere in the first guess, but not the second spot. Interesting game, even if it seems confusing at first.

Ive been playing this for a few days now, and i have to say, it is definitely a mind twister.
Tip for symble: You can think of the "yellows" as essentially doing the opposite thing: as opposed to pushing the letter in that space to another space, it pulls another letter from another space into the yellow space.

6:06 You've got it backwards here. The 💚 means the last letter of the secret word is definitely in the first guess. It *must* be N, A, or T. If you guess TOUGH and get a 💚 in the last position again, it's definitely T, because N and A aren't in TOUGH. If you get a 💚 in a different position, that letter of the secret word has to be an O, G, or H. The symbol representing yellow can never appear in the same position for a different letter. That's how you know ➕ can't be yellow, because NASTY and MUSIC don't share any letter besides the S, and it's in the same position in both. NASTY and TOUGH don't share any letters besides T, and it's in a different position, so a 💚 in the same position *must* be the only letter the two words have in common.

So after having watched plenty of your videos, I decided I wanted to try one of these, loaded up symble and first guessed: CAIRN, then CABLE, and I won immediately

Imo, symble isn't that complicated at all. There are only two changes to the rules:
1) "yellow" letters are in the position of the answer instead of the guessed word
2) at the start, you don't know what each symbol means

It helped me a lot to write down possible letter positions on a scrap piece of paper. Feel free to try that if you want! 🤗
I think my brain just broke
I got lucky with my second guess having 3 correct letters (after confirming that the symbol I had meant that). After that it was pretty easy thankfully.

I like to do SCOLD as my starting word, it always gives me a letter.
This almost seems like it might be easier than wordle once you get the hang of it

I'll be honest, I thought it was "reset" and I was screaming that you weren't thinking of it, but then when you guessed _____ and it was right, i was embarrassed XD.
Haha, and when I was adding it I realized I should have guessed reset, and I was embarrassed. 😆
I mean, they both work, but reset is more likely to have been the word, since such word puzzles don't like to make eh answer obscure.

This is very confusing at first, but I think I'd get used to it after a few tries. Of course, with a hundred other wordle variants out there, there's just not enough time in the day.

The game would be improved if there were also version with only one of those rules mentioned. Then this is hard mode, and the other two versions give some practising

I'm colorblind too and it's really weird to explain stuff to other people, my mind kinda skips colors as a feature to describe most things.

You should do wordle2 which is 6 letter words and start with people and trains

My first try I got three positions correct (green) so I mistook em for yellow n just used up all my guesses going for the actual yellow letters 😭 luck doesn't do well with THIS game

How is the “T” in the same category as the “N A M U I C” if there is none of those letters in the word? And how is the “ H and the Y” green hearts!? I’m so confused someone explain
"yellow" clues are in the position of the answer, not the word. The two green hearts (the yellow clue) are both in the last position, meaning the last letter of the answer, which is a T, exists in the guess. The positions that correspond to the T in the guess are actually looking at the positions in the answer, so the E and the B didn't exist in the guessed words, so you get the pentagon.
