I’m finding the gain and volume levels from the mke200 super quiet. Any advice for using on an iPhone

I found a active Rode Videomic at around the same price of the MKE 200. You think it is a upgrade or the Sennheiser is still better?

Hey Mark, thanks for this comparison video! Which do you think will do better for cooking videos? I really want to buy the MKE 200 because of it's size but I'm afraid I might not get crisp cooking sounds

Both are totally capable of getting the sounds you want, as the Videomicro has a bigger capsule it can achieve better low frequencies but with cooking sounds low frequencies aren't what you're looking for so I'd go for the MKE200 in your case

Hey there love the comparison! I've got the MKE-200 and I've been trying to work on the EQ to make it sound better. The Sennheiser performs better outside, but I noticed during your Rode EQ there was a bassier effect making it sound nicer IMO. I'm not very informed when it comes to sound work, so do you think this is achievable on the MKE-200? Also, do you have any tips on removing the noise in the MKE-200 without ruining sound quality? Thanks :)

Thanks for the video! I was thinking to get the Sennheiser MKE 440 stereo mic for filming loud concert videos. Currently using a pair of Audio Technica u853 mics modified for low sensitivity, going into a Roland R-07. The AT are lapel mics and work good for concerts, but wondering how they would compare to the 440.

Thanks for the review, so filming cars with the mk200 not a good idea? Or if it was attached to a car to record sound with something like a 32 bit float recorder. Would there be issues

really useful video, I have both a rode videomicro and a rode videomicro 2 and I was thinking of getting mk 200, I would use it especially for weddings, what do you recommend

I found the Sennheiser better for outdoor use but Videomicro a better sounding microphone. So if you're mainly using indoors Videomicro otherwise the Sennheiser

So, when hiking and vlogging the Sennheiser will not be okay?

No the opposite, the Sennheiser is the choice

I wish I had a windier day as the Rode fails protecting against wind. It wasn't shown great in the video but if you're rotating the camera around to show someone or something in your vlog the Sennheiser has a rattle, just don't speak then, you can cut the audio out or just cut the rotation and have a jump cut instead.
