Morning all. For my 65 kgs: Easy/ long run= Asics Novablast 5. Daily Trainer= Nb Rebel v4. Race day= Saucony E. Speed 4. Like to Andy. Have a good day.
Love these vids, always make me excited to get my programs going. have a half in Feb, marathon in March which I'll use as a ramp for the training block to Comrades in June. Current rotation Easy/daily/long run :SL2 soon to be replaced with Nova 5 if I can ever get my size. Tempo/intervals: Rebel V4. Race day : Adios Pro 3.
I’ve got a goal spring half in Lisbon and have been using: Long Runs - Steady / Easy Superblast (currently 450+ miles) Race Day / Long Runs with Race Pace - MetaSPEED EDGE Paris Intervals/Speed - MetaSPEED Edge+ (nearly 400 miles in these, foam feels a bit dead) Track Sessions plan to use Adios 9 Other (Recovery/Parkrun/Whatever) - Endorphin Speed 4
I use the Brooks Hyperion 2s as my daily trainer and workout shoe. I just bought the Hoka Mach x2s off someone so I'll use those for longer runs and longer races.
at the moment i run mostly in old shoes. Depending on the weather i will put a few new shoes from the shelf into the rotation, maybe in late March, maybe in April. I heared a lot of positive things ybout the Puma shoes, i hope you will love them
Really like that dirty look of your Hyperion 2s. You put in good work on them and it shows! My current rotation is based on shoes that tend to be slightly stiffer and have some sort of rocker due to my toe injury I suffered using Endorphins Speed 3s. Recovery: Neo Vista Long: Cloudmonster Hyper Session/speed: Boston 12 Race: Alphafly 3 All-purpose/any role: Mach 6
Speed workout, Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 2. Tempo Novablast5, long run Saucony Triumph 20, race Saucony Endrophin Pro4. Seriously eying off the Superblast2
Your thoughts on the AF3 were kinda how I felt. At first, I found it so different from other shoes-it’s hard to forget it’s on your feet, and even the sound constantly reminds you it’s there. But after a few runs, something just clicked. I glanced at my watch and realised I was running much faster than my perceived effort. Now, it’s my go-to shoe for half and full marathon distances. I hope it clicks for you too!
I've bought a bunch of shoes recently, but none can dethrone the Superblast 2 as my favorite reliable daily mileage banger. If you liked the Adidas Pro3's you might want to check out the Terrex Ultras for trail days, they're pretty good!
Session shoe - Saucony Speed 4, Race Shoe - Puma DNE3, Easy Shoe - Asics Superbast v1, Speed Shoe (track sessions) - Puma DNE2....Love the new Puma DNE3, best grip, best response, decent stability and a good rocker, while being more durable than Nike VF3. Puma knocked it out of park!
Man, I’ve been training in everything! 😂 Been using the Hoka Mach 6, 361° Eleos, and a few others for easy base days, the TYR Valkyrie Speedworks, NB Pacer v2, and Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 3 (among others) for workouts, and the AlphaFly 3 & Adios Pro 4 (among others) for races and key race-specific workouts.
Great video Andy!! Easy - Asics Gel Nimbus 26 TR (added grip) Long - Asics Superblast 2 Workouts - Adidas Adios Pro 3 Can do a bit of everything - Adidas Boston 12 My race shoe - Either a fresh pair of Adios Pro 3's or Saucony Endorphin Pro 4's... Shall do my research!
Easy/Recovery: Novablast 4 Long: Superblast 1 (still going strong) Workouts: Endorphin Speed 1 (yes, really. 800K in them and still good, but I see some signs of retirement) Race: Marathon: Alphafly 1 (yes, still good, not that many Ks in them), HM or less: Alpha's or Fast-R Nitro Elite 2 (these feel unstable for marathons) Trail training: Speedgoat EVO (almost dead), Trabuco Max 3 Trail Race: Endorphin Edge
Consider giving the ASICS metaspeed sky a try if they have your size. Recently got them and I would describe them as feeling like a super Noosa tri. Also very light so disappear quickly on foot.
I'm still looking for a racing shoe this season. Vaporfly 2 has still some kms in it but I don't know if I want to spend my next 50km in that one. So I'll look out for Saucony Endorphin Pro 4 and others.
Very sad how the Endorphin Elite died so early. I very rarely use mine(mostly Races only) so it still feels great I think. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the Puma!
Speed Work - Takumi Sen 10 Daily trainers - Adidas SL2 Long Runs - Boston 12 & Prime X 2 Strung Race Day - Finally going forward with a pair of Adios Pro 3. I'm coming from Vaporfly 3 & Asics metaspeed sky paris
@TheFODRunner Thank you, really appreciate your page & was sad I missed you at the Abingdon marathon last year as I ran it myself for my first ever marathon. Hopefully catch you at a race this you 🙌🏾
Thanks! It has dropped a bit, I havent been able to train as much as I wanted too over the xmas period... I wanted it in the 65 mile per week range, which is about 10/15 miles per week less than marathon training, but I have struggled to hit that... hoping that now the kids are back at school it can become a reality!
Easy/daily - more v5 , magnify nitro 2 Long - Magmax, SB2, Neo Vista Tempo - deviate nitro 2 - Soucany speed 3&4 Race - marathon Soucany pro 4, half adiós pro 3, half/10k Puma Deviate Nitro elite 3 💚🩷 **I'm using the SB2 for a few Half's during my Manchester marathon block as I'm using them as training runs
@TheFODRunner thank you, I only started running in April and people warned me I'd get addicted but I didn't realise they meant shoes too 😅 love the content mate helps me become a better runner implementing some of the things you do 👌🏽
Yeah I also just found the Alphafly 3 "too much shoe" in our UK 13. Still got pairs of VF1 & VF2 with not too many miles on so still using them for races and not done more than 5K for a while anyway. Had used the VF3 but like you going off that version now although my only pair are over 200 miles so that's not helping. I pondered on the Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 3 so will be very interested to hear how you get on. No doubt you are buzzing to try them :)
Currently on UnderArmour for Winter: UA Velociti Elite 2 (I use like a Track spike) UA Velociti Pro (10K-HM Race shoe) UA Infinite Elite v2 (Long Runs) ❤❤ UA Infinite Pro (Daily) Saucony Xodus Ultra Runshield (Snow) Gym: UA TriBase Reign 5 (Gym Training) UA Reign Lifter (Olympic Lifts)
Hi Andy. Just a reminder that, should you ever need some, I have a box fresh pair of VF1 I picked up for around half price. Also I have some Endorphin Elites in a UK13 that have only had a 5k race done in them. You'll probably give them a better seeing-to than me, so just give me a heads-up if interested. And best of luck for the upcoming races - I personally adore Alicante and am usually there at least once a year on holiday 👍
That Nova Blast left foot collapses - is that the leg you have issues with achilles? the other shoes look more stable other than Hyperian - my perception. But maybe thats your natural shock absorber fo the left side
Its my right side that gives me issues moreso than my left in all honesty! I think if I held the camera to the other side of my body you would notice it more!
Morning all. For my 65 kgs: Easy/ long run= Asics Novablast 5. Daily Trainer= Nb Rebel v4. Race day= Saucony E. Speed 4. Like to Andy. Have a good day.
Have a great day!
For London Marathon: easy day: Novablast 5, Long runs Superblast and CieloX 1; workout shoe Boston 12; Race day: Alphafly 3 or Adios Pro 4

I’ve got a goal spring half in Lisbon and have been using:

Thanks. Puma Deviate Nitro 3 in to replace very old Vapourfly 2’s, feel like a big upgrade.
I am hoping its a big upgrade! Will probably test tomorrow as we have snow due again Friday!

@TheFODRunner Thank you, really appreciate your page & was sad I missed you at the Abingdon marathon last year as I ran it myself for my first ever marathon. Hopefully catch you at a race this you 🙌🏾
@ ah well done at Abingdon! Are you going back this year?
@@TheFODRunner Thank you & you too. Sadly not but I'm doing London, Amsterdam & Valencia this year so really excited for those
@ amazing! Best of luck with them!
Love the Evo SL at the moment.
I forgot how “lower stack” and no plate shoes good and fun are just for daily cruising miles
Agreed, I've got the Supernova Rise, fantastic daily trainer: low stack, flexible, lots of ground feel but still plush
I cant wait for the evo sl to fully release, I hope to get a pair!
Looking forward to hearing your views on the DNE3’s.
Thanks! cant wait to test them
A reviewer I trust..great work
Thank you buddy
Saucony I use saucony.the triumph, speed 3 and 4 and pro 4 and If I do trails it’s xodus 3 i do own reebok shoe but that’s for treadmill only 😊
great vid as always andy. Question for you. how has your weekly volume changed for the half distance rather than the full marathon?
Thanks! It has dropped a bit, I havent been able to train as much as I wanted too over the xmas period... I wanted it in the 65 mile per week range, which is about 10/15 miles per week less than marathon training, but I have struggled to hit that... hoping that now the kids are back at school it can become a reality!
I don’t consider the NB5 as an easy run shoe. It motivates to run fast too much and the trampoline effect is fatiguing my calf’s muscles horrendously.
Oh is it?! thats not good! I do find I can run much faster in them as well
my rotation is On Cloudmonster, Ultraboost 19, On Cloudeclipse and sometimes Takumi Sen 10. I also have an original Prime X that rarely sees use
Nice!! Takumis are fast
Easy/daily - more v5 , magnify nitro 2
Long - Magmax, SB2, Neo Vista
Tempo - deviate nitro 2 - Soucany speed 3&4
Race - marathon Soucany pro 4, half adiós pro 3, half/10k Puma Deviate Nitro elite 3 💚🩷
**I'm using the SB2 for a few Half's during my Manchester marathon block as I'm using them as training runs
Wow great rotation! Some good race shoes you have!
@TheFODRunner thank you, I only started running in April and people warned me I'd get addicted but I didn't realise they meant shoes too 😅 love the content mate helps me become a better runner implementing some of the things you do 👌🏽
@ you get very addicted, very quickly! Haha, welcome to the toxic world of running shoe collecting 😂
Easy days:
mach 6, supernova rise, vomero 17
Tempo day: peg plus boston 12 endorphin speed 3
Race: VF3/adios pro 3
Adios 3 on discount amazing buy
