actually WG provides some tutorial videos including strategy, positioning, shell types, as well as aiming and damage controlling at WOWS official channel. but there is no doubt that making a video about 3rd party website and mods will be great for beginners

I'm kind of torn on the CV issue, like on one hand I miss the days of RTS CVs having limited planes, not being able to launch or recover planes when on fire, AA actually having teeth... but I don't miss CVs being able to cross drop you on their own and delete 12 man teams on their own.
You forgot to mention that the tumor is considered Hull and the only Superstructure are the little towers on top. Thats important as the huge easy to pen part of the ship doesnt saturate
CV spotting on consoles works that the CV can see the enemy with their planes, and the rest of the team can see the enemy ship on the minimap but not on their screen, so the CV gives info to the team and the enemy ship isnt bullied back to port.
It got real spicey indeed. I can't recall the exact details, but some dude on the red team was making a big stink worse than a Stink bug. I was the Yamato that charged the enemy and asked for team mates to cover PQ. He was starting to get a little focused fire so I charged up to try and draw some of the attention.
Hybrid planes should be a limited consumable, like heals. The end. Why should they have 90% of the capability of a CV while also being a BB? They have a limited hangar space, it should be related in the game.
By the 1930s original design Kearsarge could carry 36 aircraft, these would have been fixed wing aircraft, likely biplanes. In game she has the F8F Bearcat as her aircraft. An aircraft that is not only smaller than a biplane, but also had folding wings thus allowing her to carry extra aircraft, and using her base reload as the baseline, she gets 50 aircraft total. That seems fairly reasonable to me given the size difference in the aircraft. If you want to get into the argument of "well upgrades can give her an unrealistic number of aircraft!" Yamato's guns should take 11 seconds to elevate from 3 degrees to 41 degrees, and her guns should take longer to reload the farther from 3 degrees she gets, and she should never be able to reload faster than 30 seconds. Des Moine's 203s should have a fixed 6 second reload and 100 rounds per barrel before you are out of 203 ammo entirely. The French 380s should take between 120 and 900 seconds to reload on Richelieu and 32 seconds on Jean Bart at the fastest assuming she is in her post war configuration. Every battleship in game should have at most a rough 30% accuracy or worse against a moving Battleship sized target at 14km. I could keep going for a very long time on this one. There is so much about the game that's unrealistic, yet it's the part that's closest to being realistic people have issue with.
I love this ship! Ist's awesome for several reasons from my 53%WR noob POV: -it's great for credit farming -while you turn out showing full broadside, somehow you are very hard to get hit into citadel even at close range. -the hangar tumor takes a lot of DMG, but you can always repair that. It's also great bait saving u from getting hit for higher DMG value. -you can shoot at DD, spot it w planes and shoot again if you keep your guns aimed or use "lock on bearing/sector" while turning. -it may save the game if your team looses means of detection like DDs or radar cruisers. -it can brawl other BBs in right situation, when there's a limited number of enemies firing at you like in ranked for example. But there are downsides: -when you turn in, you are gonna get smashed into citadel. -it's really looooong, hence not exactly nimble -secondaries are good perhaps only for psychological effect lmfao. They're so inaccurate, it doesn't make much sense to build into them even partially. Perhaps for ranked if u take CQB instead of PT to boost your reload on main guns inside secondary guns range. (God I wish they buff them!) -avoid SAP ships! All of them!
Hey PQ, would you consider making a unicum guide to positioning? I’ve found your other guides to be immensely useful in increasing my battle impact, but I honestly don’t know enough about positioning and can’t find any other good guides on youtube.
This is my 5th most played ship. Yesterday I had over 2200 baseXP with 2 Devstrikes and Confederate in arms race. Roon evaporated after AP salvo with 3 citadels, Asashio got 7 HE hits from 4km range. And I capped alone. Funny game. But at the beginning I had o a lot of troubles hitting with these floaty shells.
This ship is very powerful, but the problem is the players who play it, similar to but not as bad as bad-Azuma/Yoshino players. But gunless Kearsarge parking behind most distant island is just guarantee team loss
Somebody on the WoWS subreddit was comparing the Legend's CV changes to the PC ones and they are very, very different. If the Legends changes didn't work, or if they did work, it means essentially nothing to the PC changes.
I think I have reload mod on mine at the moment, and ended up in a tier X/SS match the other day. I wasn't even in range of any of the cruisers, definitely highly recommend the range mod in case of uptiers, the stock range just can't compete with all the Wisconsin's that are about.
Sarge is a game changer just for the planes. The guns hit hard for what I call the Kearsarge combo. Get a salvo ready…Line up the rocket planes in attack, quickly hit F , and you’ve just spotted for yourself for full 12 gun salvo of 16” fun. The ship is also pretty fast.
Getting ready for my next coal ship once the coupon reset and I've been looking at this. On a bit of an USA BB craze with the tech tree and premiums so would be nice to add it. I always see it near the top of coal ship tier lists. That being said Iwami is looking very nice and I don't have any high tier premium Japanese BB's....
Yes you should get Kearsarge. Easiest credit farming T9 Premium BB there is. 12 North Carolina guns with good firing angles would be enough to warrant a T9. The fact that it has planes to torture DDs who are spotting you is insane.
So strong in ranked with that spotting. Had a few games where I'm a last man standing BB and DD doesn't get the danger. Launch, attack to trigger invincible spotting and nuke with HE. Kearsarges are why the sea is salty lol Took me some time to get the guns, but they're amazing. So many dev strikes with them.
Got it just today, played a few games and FFS I can't hit anything with the rocket planes, but the guns themselves are already great, I mean, they are even better than Minnesota ones and you have speed and planes as well! After watching your video I think I will try different attack patterns with the planes and use more HE at angled ships for extra BBQ. Having Halsey as captain is great, just 14 sec switch time
Also I think the tumours hitbox is considered hull rather than superstructure so there's much more damage saturation and acutally hitting the superstructure is very difficult.

This ship is very strong, but thankfully most people are TERRIBLE in hybrids, playing them like CVs, with little game impact. If someone is good it them though, they are OP.
This ship makes no sense at T9 to be honest. It has the strength of a T10. Wait for Black Friday and get the black version of this ship. It then does not look as ugly lol.

Thr CV rework isn't too bad. They've really just turned CVs into flying light cruisers. They have limited fuel on the planes and reduced bomb accuracy and fires chance across the board. I don't mind them having a bigger battle impact from damage because now they can't spot me in a DD for the enemy team 😂
Tbh, this should be PQ's favourite ship. Those rockets do 25k+ damage to broadside carrier basically every time. So if you don't like to abuse everything else, just use planes to remove CV

it's just good, it's my first coal ship, and even as a new player, well, i just likes it and had a good time even with the god damn velocity of the mk6, wouldn't say it's the best ship for a new player to get the first coal ship though, the flight deck is a very big down side, don't go into a hybrid frenzy and buy it first, but if you're looking for a second one, especially if you played a mk6 or even want to train your American commander, this is the ship, assuming you don't have something more stronger like the ohio or wisconsin
13:40 Here's the thing PQ most CVs in game aren't even capable of launching the number of aircraft they really carried. Midway for example could carry a theoretical 137 aircraft often carried 100. Midway in game has a theoretical 30 rocket planes, 26 torpedo bombers, and 33 bombers, giving a total of 89 aircraft and that's assuming she starts to regenerate aircraft the exact moment battle begins, something CVs do not do. Those are stock numbers while also using stock rockets because they have the fastest recovery time, but are also still unrealistic plane numbers for how many a Midway will actually have in the run of a battle. I know what you're thinking, surely FDR with her absurd plane count is unrealistic right? Well... IRL FDR carried 131 aircraft, in game she gets 31 Rockets, 29 Torpedo Bombers, and 30 bombers, for a total of 90 aircraft. If anything for FDR to be realistic should be need 41 more aircraft available to her. There are some CVs that have slightly fudged numbers, like Essex, the Essex carried 90-100 aircraft in her hangar with room for ~20 more in parts, in game she has 27 torpedo bombers, 54 rockets and 48 bombers, for a total of 129 so when you consider she could carry aircraft on her deck, not a completely unrealistic number, though the Americans did never put that many eggs in one Essex shaped basket, doesn't mean she COULDN'T do it. If we start getting into arguments of "well with X commander skill/X upgrade CVs have an unrealistic number of planes!" then I'd have to get equally as strawman-ey. Des Moines auto loading 203mm guns has a rate of fire of 10 rounds per minute. Or in other words, she had a fixed 6 second reload, not 5.5 as we see in game. She also only had 150 rounds per gun in her magazine. So after 150 rounds Des Moines should be empty and have a slower reload with no way to modify it period. Yamato's 460mm guns could only achieve a 30 second reload while at a loading angle of +3 degrees, however that would make her firing range only 6km, to reach an optimal 41 degree firing angle after loading the guns, would add an extra 11 seconds to the reload. So not only should Yamato's reload change with her range, on average it should be 35 seconds with the only way to lower the reload being to lower the range of that shot. Elevating the guns should also take considerably more time than it does now. Richelieu's 380mm guns rate of fire was very much hampered by the slow rate her hoists could deliver the projectiles, leading to gunnery trials in 1940 she could achieve no more than 1.33 rounds per minute or a rough 45 second reload. "French Battleships: 1922 - 1956" states that in July 1940 "it took fifteen minutes to bring up a charge from the magazines to the guns, so the ship was realistically capable of firing only two initial four-gun salvos before her big guns fell silent." during the attacks on Dakar in September 1940 she was only able to fire a salvo every two minutes, or in other words had a rate of fire of 120 seconds per salvo. Even by POST war configurations she could only manage a 32 second reload. So her in game 30 second reload is unrealistic. Don't even get me started on Jean Bart's reload and reload booster. King George V's 356mm guns hate a rate of fire of 2 rounds per minute. So a 30 second reload, making her 25 second reload in game fully unrealistic. Also don't even get me started on torpedo reloads. Very few ships carried a reload of their torpedoes and there is no ship could ever reload their torpedoes in 8 seconds like a torpedo reload booster allows. Now with Kearsarge she does have MAYBE to many aircraft as she has a total of 50 stock, and her design specs says she held 36 planes, but those were interwar planes, not the F8F Bearcat she has in game. The F8F giving her the ability to hold more because they had folding wings. Keep in mind Kearsarge is a massive ship, only slightly smaller than GK. She has hangar space for a fair few aircraft and it's not totally inconceivable that she could have 50 F8F Bearcat. All that said, I'm not saying aircraft are fine in game, and honestly they could do with some tweaking, but if you are going to complain about the NUMBER of aircraft CVs have, maybe at least understand how many aircraft a CV had first, and be very careful about asking for realism. Let's not forget, real life BBs had a roughly 30% accuracy on a moving target the size of a battleship at 14km. The ranges we play at with top tier would be almost single digits of accuracy. I also feel it should be noted, Kearsarge has a lower average damage, and lower win rate than many T9 BBs, like Muashi, Bajie, Illinois, Daisen, and Jean Bart. She's powerful but she's far from even being the strongest T9 BB even with being a hybrid. (WoWs Numbers NA top 5%)

I was pointing out in great detail how in fact no they don't. They have if anything to few aircraft. Hence the timestamp to when he was talking about it. I am also very aware of why people dislike CVs, and most of those reasons are being addressed much to the annoyance of the majority of the player base as demonstrated by the discord post about the CV re-work, re-work, re-work. Mostly because thus far CVs are not being given anything while having their spotting effectively removed and their damage output massively cut. While the real issues of the game go unaddressed.
Was about to post a similar comment myself after hearing PQ complain about CV 3-D printers. Glad to see someone who knows their stuff and is willing to do the research beat me to it! WOWS in general has taken great distortions to its depiction of WW2 naval combat in order to deliver the gameplay that its players enjoy, and PQ himself is someone who has admitted in the past that is not particularly invested in the historical aspects of WOWS. I think he should be much more cautious when using "realism" or "believability" factors to make critiques about things he dislikes in the game. I know its worse for user engagement when creators hedge your claims, but a creator who wants to be intellectually honest really should admit when they are making an impressionistic take on something that is not in their field of expertise. His problem with the seemingly unending depth of plane reserves on CVs feeling unintuitive isn't even a bad point by itself, its really the attempt to attach it to any notion of realism where he does himself a disservice. You used the American CVs to prove the point, but I honestly think Shokaku is one of the more poignant examples. She starts every game with 43 total aircraft split basically evenly between fighters, torpedo bombers, and dive bombers. Her regeneration rates are configured to provide her 15-18 extra planes in each category over the course of a 20 minutes match (assuming full up time which is literally impossible to achieve without the CV player just launching and recalling squadrons instead of actually playing the game). In 1941 she entered WW2 with a loadout of 72 aircraft and 12 spares for a total of 84 airframes. During the battle of the Philippines Sea in 1944 she was still able to deploy 69 aircraft (coincidentally the types carried at this battle are Shokaku's in-game stock aircraft) despite the horrific attrition the IJNAS had suffered up to that point. If you assume that Shokaku's regeneration rate across all 3 aircraft categories is 75% of the match time (more theoretically possible but still pretty difficult to see happening in a competitive game), she generates 11-13 extra planes in each category for a total of 79 aircraft. That's still less aircraft than she carried in her start of war 1941 configuration and only 14% more than Shokaku's likely understrength airgroup at the Battle of the Philippine Sea. Even with her 3-D aircraft printer running on full capacity, Shokaku in WOWS can't match her real life counterpart when it comes to the number of aircraft she can carry. If you also consider the fact that in real life carriers could launch astronomically larger portions of their aircraft complement and have them split into independent air-groups that could attack different targets simultaneously, it becomes obvious how ridiculously nerfed carriers are in WOWs compared to their historical counterparts. And that's before we even discuss how unbelievably effective WOWS AA is at actually shooting down planes. TLDR: Do not ask for more realistic carriers without knowing what devilry you're invoking. If you think planes are broken in WOWS, it pales in comparison to how much they broke the game in real life naval combat.

I was going to go over all the CVs in the game, and even make arguments for the CVs that didn't exist on their hangar capacity, but I was honestly worried I was getting close to UA-cam's character limit. It does have one. I've hit it before. Funny enough I think that time I was replying to a Might Jingles video calling out his hypocrisy when it comes to CVs as he used to berate people for going off solo in CV games when we had RTS CVs, only to now cry that CVs can bully a lone ship for multiple minutes giving it plenty of time to get back to it's team and likely survive.

I am currious about how you liked the game when it first started when you could fly multiple squardrons at a time and stack the planes or cross drop ships. When you could and did one shot ships at the start of a match? Like real naval battles are. I'd also like to say that the Hybrid battleships don't have planes any time. The "reload" time is pretty long. If you want f'd up and game breaking lets talk about subs. Enjoy your content but I was currious.
The real question is whether a CV or a standard BB has more battle impact or fun. I’d say both standard CVs and BBs do a better job for the tasks required. As for fun, that’s YMMV. Personally, ruining other people’s day is just as important as winning in a PvP game. Whatever you play best is always the best tool for the job, regardless of meta. Subs, CVs, and hybrids aren’t going away, and crying over it has yet to win a single match.
WG gave this ship Montana hull and guns ( a little worse but still 12 406mm guns) then slap attack aircraft which could spot and deal consistent damage regardless of distance or angle. All those advantages could put her in supership tier but WG puts her at tier9 instead Fighting this thing as a tier7 ship is just unfair
It’s not really a Monty hull. If you look at her in one of the ports that shows below the waterline (Naval Base, Designer’s Table, or Spaceport) she has three rudders and 6 3-bladed propellers. She’s also a bit faster at 31.5kts and the rudder shift is slightly better at 18.4 sec but the turning circle is about a hundred meters larger. Monty also has a thicker lower belt, but a wider citadel. But yeah, this thing against T7 is way broken

The thing is carriers are so unbalanced that any rework is going to either nerf them so much that CV players moan their heads off or be ineffective. One thing they could do though as you say is go back to finite numbers of planes on a CV... Hybrids are ridiculous.
I don't think it's the rework, it's the player base itself. From what I have seen, about half of the players in WoWs don't even bother to stick together and work as a team. Wg strongly encourages team play, you know
The planes are not as strong as they used to. They used to hit harder and more importantly, the used to fire their rockets WAY faster, after you initiated the attack run, making it way easier to hit DD's.
They just need to give the community a no carriers and subs tick box. If you have to wait, you have to wait. No crazy rework needed and everyone is happy.
Seems like the most obvious way to treat the hybrids is limit the number of flights. Something like 4 flights would have an impact but not THAT much of a ridiculous impact.

Dude, carriers back then carried between 80 and 140 planes... The big one nowadays can sometimes carry close to 200. We have squadrons of what? Max. 8 in the game? We dont even reach the numbers in game what real world CVs carry around when we count every plane in the game we send and lose... Then theres the recovery from sending them back etc. Just straight up BS you talking.
Here’s me saying it again: you should NOT get your planes back in carriers or hybrid ships. It’s ridiculous that you literally have infinite planes. It’s not like that’s even far fetched, all consumables are exactly that: consumables. Planes should be too.

I love this ship! Ist's awesome for several reasons from my 53%WR noob POV:
-it's great for credit farming
-while you turn out showing full broadside, somehow you are very hard to get hit into citadel even at close range.
-the hangar tumor takes a lot of DMG, but you can always repair that. It's also great bait saving u from getting hit for higher DMG value.
-you can shoot at DD, spot it w planes and shoot again if you keep your guns aimed or use "lock on bearing/sector" while turning.
-it may save the game if your team looses means of detection like DDs or radar cruisers.
-it can brawl other BBs in right situation, when there's a limited number of enemies firing at you like in ranked for example.
But there are downsides:
-when you turn in, you are gonna get smashed into citadel.
-it's really looooong, hence not exactly nimble
-secondaries are good perhaps only for psychological effect lmfao. They're so inaccurate, it doesn't make much sense to build into them even partially. Perhaps for ranked if u take CQB instead of PT to boost your reload on main guns inside secondary guns range. (God I wish they buff them!)
-avoid SAP ships! All of them!
Hey PQ, would you consider making a unicum guide to positioning? I’ve found your other guides to be immensely useful in increasing my battle impact, but I honestly don’t know enough about positioning and can’t find any other good guides on youtube.

This is my 5th most played ship. Yesterday I had over 2200 baseXP with 2 Devstrikes and Confederate in arms race. Roon evaporated after AP salvo with 3 citadels, Asashio got 7 HE hits from 4km range. And I capped alone. Funny game. But at the beginning I had o a lot of troubles hitting with these floaty shells.
This ship is very powerful, but the problem is the players who play it, similar to but not as bad as bad-Azuma/Yoshino players. But gunless Kearsarge parking behind most distant island is just guarantee team loss
Somebody on the WoWS subreddit was comparing the Legend's CV changes to the PC ones and they are very, very different. If the Legends changes didn't work, or if they did work, it means essentially nothing to the PC changes.
I think I have reload mod on mine at the moment, and ended up in a tier X/SS match the other day. I wasn't even in range of any of the cruisers, definitely highly recommend the range mod in case of uptiers, the stock range just can't compete with all the Wisconsin's that are about.
Sarge is a game changer just for the planes. The guns hit hard for what I call the Kearsarge combo. Get a salvo ready…Line up the rocket planes in attack, quickly hit F , and you’ve just spotted for yourself for full 12 gun salvo of 16” fun. The ship is also pretty fast.

In one of my myoko games i was matched into a tier 9 mm, i showed broadside to them planes and i lost 15k health.
Yes you should get Kearsarge. Easiest credit farming T9 Premium BB there is. 12 North Carolina guns with good firing angles would be enough to warrant a T9. The fact that it has planes to torture DDs who are spotting you is insane.
So strong in ranked with that spotting.
Had a few games where I'm a last man standing BB and DD doesn't get the danger. Launch, attack to trigger invincible spotting and nuke with HE. Kearsarges are why the sea is salty lol

Got it just today, played a few games and FFS I can't hit anything with the rocket planes, but the guns themselves are already great, I mean, they are even better than Minnesota ones and you have speed and planes as well!
After watching your video I think I will try different attack patterns with the planes and use more HE at angled ships for extra BBQ. Having Halsey as captain is great, just 14 sec switch time
Also I think the tumours hitbox is considered hull rather than superstructure so there's much more damage saturation and acutally hitting the superstructure is very difficult.

This ship is very strong, but thankfully most people are TERRIBLE in hybrids, playing them like CVs, with little game impact. If someone is good it them though, they are OP.

Thr CV rework isn't too bad. They've really just turned CVs into flying light cruisers. They have limited fuel on the planes and reduced bomb accuracy and fires chance across the board. I don't mind them having a bigger battle impact from damage because now they can't spot me in a DD for the enemy team 😂
I left WOWS PC and went to Legends, fewer headaches dealing with players. This is one ship I would like to see in WOWS Legends.

Tbh, this should be PQ's favourite ship. Those rockets do 25k+ damage to broadside carrier basically every time. So if you don't like to abuse everything else, just use planes to remove CV

it's just good, it's my first coal ship, and even as a new player, well, i just likes it and had a good time even with the god damn velocity of the mk6, wouldn't say it's the best ship for a new player to get the first coal ship though, the flight deck is a very big down side, don't go into a hybrid frenzy and buy it first, but if you're looking for a second one, especially if you played a mk6 or even want to train your American commander, this is the ship, assuming you don't have something more stronger like the ohio or wisconsin
13:40 Here's the thing PQ most CVs in game aren't even capable of launching the number of aircraft they really carried. Midway for example could carry a theoretical 137 aircraft often carried 100. Midway in game has a theoretical 30 rocket planes, 26 torpedo bombers, and 33 bombers, giving a total of 89 aircraft and that's assuming she starts to regenerate aircraft the exact moment battle begins, something CVs do not do. Those are stock numbers while also using stock rockets because they have the fastest recovery time, but are also still unrealistic plane numbers for how many a Midway will actually have in the run of a battle.
I know what you're thinking, surely FDR with her absurd plane count is unrealistic right? Well... IRL FDR carried 131 aircraft, in game she gets 31 Rockets, 29 Torpedo Bombers, and 30 bombers, for a total of 90 aircraft. If anything for FDR to be realistic should be need 41 more aircraft available to her.
There are some CVs that have slightly fudged numbers, like Essex, the Essex carried 90-100 aircraft in her hangar with room for ~20 more in parts, in game she has 27 torpedo bombers, 54 rockets and 48 bombers, for a total of 129 so when you consider she could carry aircraft on her deck, not a completely unrealistic number, though the Americans did never put that many eggs in one Essex shaped basket, doesn't mean she COULDN'T do it.
If we start getting into arguments of "well with X commander skill/X upgrade CVs have an unrealistic number of planes!" then I'd have to get equally as strawman-ey. Des Moines auto loading 203mm guns has a rate of fire of 10 rounds per minute. Or in other words, she had a fixed 6 second reload, not 5.5 as we see in game. She also only had 150 rounds per gun in her magazine. So after 150 rounds Des Moines should be empty and have a slower reload with no way to modify it period.
Yamato's 460mm guns could only achieve a 30 second reload while at a loading angle of +3 degrees, however that would make her firing range only 6km, to reach an optimal 41 degree firing angle after loading the guns, would add an extra 11 seconds to the reload. So not only should Yamato's reload change with her range, on average it should be 35 seconds with the only way to lower the reload being to lower the range of that shot. Elevating the guns should also take considerably more time than it does now.
Richelieu's 380mm guns rate of fire was very much hampered by the slow rate her hoists could deliver the projectiles, leading to gunnery trials in 1940 she could achieve no more than 1.33 rounds per minute or a rough 45 second reload. "French Battleships: 1922 - 1956" states that in July 1940 "it took fifteen minutes to bring up a charge from the magazines to the guns, so the ship was realistically capable of firing only two initial four-gun salvos before her big guns fell silent." during the attacks on Dakar in September 1940 she was only able to fire a salvo every two minutes, or in other words had a rate of fire of 120 seconds per salvo. Even by POST war configurations she could only manage a 32 second reload. So her in game 30 second reload is unrealistic. Don't even get me started on Jean Bart's reload and reload booster.
King George V's 356mm guns hate a rate of fire of 2 rounds per minute. So a 30 second reload, making her 25 second reload in game fully unrealistic.
Also don't even get me started on torpedo reloads. Very few ships carried a reload of their torpedoes and there is no ship could ever reload their torpedoes in 8 seconds like a torpedo reload booster allows.
Now with Kearsarge she does have MAYBE to many aircraft as she has a total of 50 stock, and her design specs says she held 36 planes, but those were interwar planes, not the F8F Bearcat she has in game. The F8F giving her the ability to hold more because they had folding wings. Keep in mind Kearsarge is a massive ship, only slightly smaller than GK. She has hangar space for a fair few aircraft and it's not totally inconceivable that she could have 50 F8F Bearcat.
All that said, I'm not saying aircraft are fine in game, and honestly they could do with some tweaking, but if you are going to complain about the NUMBER of aircraft CVs have, maybe at least understand how many aircraft a CV had first, and be very careful about asking for realism. Let's not forget, real life BBs had a roughly 30% accuracy on a moving target the size of a battleship at 14km. The ranges we play at with top tier would be almost single digits of accuracy.
I also feel it should be noted, Kearsarge has a lower average damage, and lower win rate than many T9 BBs, like Muashi, Bajie, Illinois, Daisen, and Jean Bart. She's powerful but she's far from even being the strongest T9 BB even with being a hybrid. (WoWs Numbers NA top 5%)

I am also very aware of why people dislike CVs, and most of those reasons are being addressed much to the annoyance of the majority of the player base as demonstrated by the discord post about the CV re-work, re-work, re-work. Mostly because thus far CVs are not being given anything while having their spotting effectively removed and their damage output massively cut. While the real issues of the game go unaddressed.
Was about to post a similar comment myself after hearing PQ complain about CV 3-D printers. Glad to see someone who knows their stuff and is willing to do the research beat me to it! WOWS in general has taken great distortions to its depiction of WW2 naval combat in order to deliver the gameplay that its players enjoy, and PQ himself is someone who has admitted in the past that is not particularly invested in the historical aspects of WOWS. I think he should be much more cautious when using "realism" or "believability" factors to make critiques about things he dislikes in the game. I know its worse for user engagement when creators hedge your claims, but a creator who wants to be intellectually honest really should admit when they are making an impressionistic take on something that is not in their field of expertise. His problem with the seemingly unending depth of plane reserves on CVs feeling unintuitive isn't even a bad point by itself, its really the attempt to attach it to any notion of realism where he does himself a disservice.
You used the American CVs to prove the point, but I honestly think Shokaku is one of the more poignant examples. She starts every game with 43 total aircraft split basically evenly between fighters, torpedo bombers, and dive bombers. Her regeneration rates are configured to provide her 15-18 extra planes in each category over the course of a 20 minutes match (assuming full up time which is literally impossible to achieve without the CV player just launching and recalling squadrons instead of actually playing the game). In 1941 she entered WW2 with a loadout of 72 aircraft and 12 spares for a total of 84 airframes. During the battle of the Philippines Sea in 1944 she was still able to deploy 69 aircraft (coincidentally the types carried at this battle are Shokaku's in-game stock aircraft) despite the horrific attrition the IJNAS had suffered up to that point.
If you assume that Shokaku's regeneration rate across all 3 aircraft categories is 75% of the match time (more theoretically possible but still pretty difficult to see happening in a competitive game), she generates 11-13 extra planes in each category for a total of 79 aircraft. That's still less aircraft than she carried in her start of war 1941 configuration and only 14% more than Shokaku's likely understrength airgroup at the Battle of the Philippine Sea. Even with her 3-D aircraft printer running on full capacity, Shokaku in WOWS can't match her real life counterpart when it comes to the number of aircraft she can carry.
If you also consider the fact that in real life carriers could launch astronomically larger portions of their aircraft complement and have them split into independent air-groups that could attack different targets simultaneously, it becomes obvious how ridiculously nerfed carriers are in WOWs compared to their historical counterparts. And that's before we even discuss how unbelievably effective WOWS AA is at actually shooting down planes.
TLDR: Do not ask for more realistic carriers without knowing what devilry you're invoking. If you think planes are broken in WOWS, it pales in comparison to how much they broke the game in real life naval combat.
@@LasertechStudios3142 Yeah don't even get me started on how unrealistic AA is in Warships and how people wanting single ships to be full no fly zones is stupidly unrealistic.(I may have a 3+ chapter long script I've been off and on writing about Warships AA and how what people want is simply unrealistic and bad game design) Or torpedo reloads for anyone other than the Japanese really. Even when people pull battles to be like "well this side lost a lot of planes in this battle!" they seem to fail to realize that those planes were "lost" not shot down. It was normally the compliment of aircraft a sunk CV had on it that is considered lost in the battle.
I was going to go over all the CVs in the game, and even make arguments for the CVs that didn't exist on their hangar capacity, but I was honestly worried I was getting close to UA-cam's character limit. It does have one. I've hit it before. Funny enough I think that time I was replying to a Might Jingles video calling out his hypocrisy when it comes to CVs as he used to berate people for going off solo in CV games when we had RTS CVs, only to now cry that CVs can bully a lone ship for multiple minutes giving it plenty of time to get back to it's team and likely survive.

I hears you comment about planes in the air. I am currious about how you liked the game when it first started when you could fly multiple squardrons at a time and stack the planes or cross drop ships. When you could and did one shot ships at the start of a match? Like real naval battles are. I'd also like to say that the Hybrid battleships don't have planes any time. The "reload" time is pretty long. If you want f'd up and game breaking lets talk about subs. Enjoy your content but I was currious.
The real question is whether a CV or a standard BB has more battle impact or fun. I’d say both standard CVs and BBs do a better job for the tasks required. As for fun, that’s YMMV. Personally, ruining other people’s day is just as important as winning in a PvP game. Whatever you play best is always the best tool for the job, regardless of meta. Subs, CVs, and hybrids aren’t going away, and crying over it has yet to win a single match.

WG gave this ship Montana hull and guns ( a little worse but still 12 406mm guns) then slap attack aircraft which could spot and deal consistent damage regardless of distance or angle. All those advantages could put her in supership tier but WG puts her at tier9 instead
Fighting this thing as a tier7 ship is just unfair
It’s not really a Monty hull. If you look at her in one of the ports that shows below the waterline (Naval Base, Designer’s Table, or Spaceport) she has three rudders and 6 3-bladed propellers. She’s also a bit faster at 31.5kts and the rudder shift is slightly better at 18.4 sec but the turning circle is about a hundred meters larger. Monty also has a thicker lower belt, but a wider citadel.
But yeah, this thing against T7 is way broken

The thing is carriers are so unbalanced that any rework is going to either nerf them so much that CV players moan their heads off or be ineffective. One thing they could do though as you say is go back to finite numbers of planes on a CV... Hybrids are ridiculous.
I don't think it's the rework, it's the player base itself. From what I have seen, about half of the players in WoWs don't even bother to stick together and work as a team. Wg strongly encourages team play, you know

The planes are not as strong as they used to. They used to hit harder and more importantly, the used to fire their rockets WAY faster, after you initiated the attack run, making it way easier to hit DD's.

Seems like the most obvious way to treat the hybrids is limit the number of flights. Something like 4 flights would have an impact but not THAT much of a ridiculous impact.

Dude, carriers back then carried between 80 and 140 planes... The big one nowadays can sometimes carry close to 200. We have squadrons of what? Max. 8 in the game? We dont even reach the numbers in game what real world CVs carry around when we count every plane in the game we send and lose... Then theres the recovery from sending them back etc. Just straight up BS you talking.
