I just want to say, when I joined this channel about two years ago there were 30k in subscribers, and now there's almost 50k which is amazing. Because I love this channel, and these daily matches are my mid-day stress release. Falcon, when you're at 50k, I hope you do a little celebration. I'll send you a cupcake! >
@@williamsmith9948 yayyyyyyy
Seeing Guardians do incredibly well and seeing dozens of zerglings and hydra swarm over the protoss base makes me smile a lot as a zerg fan!
when minchel got the khydarin amulet upgrade but didnt even have dark templars...falcon is all like "does he even know what that does?" 😂
34:29 Ensnare reduces attack speed a bit, but acid spores however really reduce attack speed and it stacks up to 9, so 9 Devourers can instantly reduce a Corsair attack speed and reduce their armor by -9.
so satisfying when a player breaks a contain. especially like this
Protoss would have won if he built carriers and scouts. Only morons underestimate the power of scouts they can one shot scourges. I don't know protoss players don't use them. Then when they lose the are told oh wow such great competitors! Don't make any sense.
The key is to use scouts with carriers. That makes a deadly protoss air force.
we had purple and green... all we were missing was plague on that group of corsairs. I'd love to see purple, green, and red. I think it would be kinda pretty :D
Unless you're the pilot. Having slow motion epileptic seizures and steadily dying
@@alfo149 best comment, you win UA-cam.
If only we could see combination of red (plague), green (snare) and purple (acid) all at once. A deadly combination
Thanks for the disruptor web explanation. I always wondered why it was never used but it makes sense now, at least on the professional level.
So so so so so gratifying seeing purple and green spores at the same time. I know many agree with me.
that was a crazy defense and contain break, amazing
Zerg unbeatable and dominating as a race is very well shown here!!!
I love these harmless green-purple stack of corsairs like stack of non upgraded marines vs ultralisk.
And the best thing - transition to zerglings, since these are THE BEST units in whole starcraft for erasing buildings. Once reavers gone - there was nothing else to stop from zerg.
Thank you and regards to your faithful subscriber that sent this replay!
Scouts counter devourers, this was probably the only situation in which making scouts would make sense. Plus, unlike corsairs, they can fire down and help a little after they clear the air. He had speed upgrade anyway.
No stop trying to act like an expert. Scouts work very well with carriers. I don't care what dirt sheets say.
Two Minchel zealots go round the outside
Round the outside, round the outside
Two Minchel zealots go round the outside
Round the outside, round the outside
Guess who's back, back again
He legit put sunkens near his workers to soak up possible reaver hits, and a hatchery in the entrance to block enemy movement. Super smart player.
Yea, there is a RTS back in 1997 called "Dark Reign: The Future Of War" that did that
A bit of a longer comment this time, but here goes. (Concerning the prediction of the outcome of the match, I was rooting for the Zerg the whole time, and predicting that they would win. For spoiler-avoidance purposes, I shall not disclose if I was right or not. If you haven't seen the cast, do not read further, as replies to this comment might accidentally spoil it, or any other comments in general. UA-cam lifehacks 101.)

Before I found Falcon's casts, I was a Protoss fanboy, even though I had quit the game long time ago before. I had played StarCraft I and Brood War campaigns numerous times as a kid but due to not having access to internet, I resorted to making my own campaigns with the Scenario Editor. At first it was from Terran perspective, but then I started to shift towards Protoss; exploring how distant Protoss or Dark Templar moon-colonies might experience the first contact with hostile aliens, the Swarm and the Confederacy. When StarCraft II came out, I played it on ladder, mostly in WoL times, as Protoss. I played HotS, and LotV, and during the last expansion I mained the co-op PvE modes, again usually with Protoss commanders.
But then I found Falcon, and something about his open admission of being a Zerg fan himself, but still being very clearly unbiased and fair in the casting, changed me. I always enjoyed every cast I had watched, before and during my early Falcon-watching days, but I mostly rejoiced when Protoss won. (My UA-cam nickname may also hint at my past.) Still, I started to find that I enjoyed rooting for specific players, not races in particular. My heart would always skip a beat, of course, when I saw Bisu in a cast, but others started to rise. Serral, especially. Him being my kinsman from the same country might have had a small part in it, too, but something about his revolutionary style caught my eye.
Fast-forward to this day, and I found that I rooted for this Zerg here the whole game, not only because they felt like the underdog being oppressed in a cage, but also because I found myself fascinated with thinking about how Zerg actually *feel*: how it would feel to be a Cerebrate, a Drone or an Overlord, heck, how would it even feel to be an Evolution Chamber! In tandem to the cast, I found myself thinking about how the evolution of Zerg would actually go in a situation like this - they're caged, so they start physically evolving new traits to overcome the obstacles, like Ventral Sacks. It's so scary, and so fascinating to think.

So in this very long-winded manner, I would like to once again thank Falcon Paladin for being an amazing commentator, always on time and mostly on point (it's okay, we viewers miss stuff too on the minimap, don't fret about it). Most of all, thankyou for broadening my perspective! You are a shining beacon in the UA-cam space for me personally, and the only channel I watch daily. I can only hope that once my financial situation improves I can resume to being a Patron. Until then, you have my heartfelt thanks for being as productive a caster as ever.
That Zerg player has serious skills. Cool as a cucumber
I remember as a kid I only played fastest maps and would constantly run into those people that are all elitist about it and say shit like fastest map only makes you worse at the game. Ran into one who just begged and begged to play 1v1 on a regular map after I crushed him on fastest, and I actually gave in for once just because he was being so absurd about how you cannot improve at the game in any way by playing fastest. So I beat him on hunters or something, and he made the excuse that he wasn't trying because he knew I was bad cuz of fastest lol. So I was like so you think a brand new player would've beaten you too? Cuz I've ONLY ever played fastest maps in starcraft for the past 4 years at that point (I'm sure when I first started the game I was playing regular maps, but it was so long ago I don't even remember it, except for one game when I was super new I remember getting guardians and that game is what hooked me on starcraft.
This fucker just could not handle the fact that playing on fastest only hinders your game knowledge in non fastest games. It doesn't make you worse. It's still the same mechanics, the same concept, but with less minerals so you have to expand and utilize micro more. Like, I get his point, but he was straight up denying that playing fastest for 4 years makes you better at the game than a person playing starcraft for the first time. Such a stubborn elitist bastard. I was so glad I beat him. He begged for another game to prove his point, but I was telling him the whole time that I'm sure he can beat me on a non fastest map. I was constantly reiterating his point to make sure he was being serious that he really thinks you can not improve at the game at all if you play on fastest map. And he confirmed everytime that yes, that's his point and it's absolutely true. Then how could someone who only plays fastest actually beat someone who's been playing for years, without some cheese? (Which I would only know about by playing fastest anyway, so it's not like a complete newb is gonna know how to cheese you)
The dude was so stubborn about it that I still remember the whole interaction 20 years later lol.
I thought S could have made more spore colonies to defend against the drops
Holy shit, this zerg is so good. Being surrounded like that a dropped all the time with the potential to kill all your economy. I cannot imagine what nerves it requiers to not just tap out from all this pressure
Am i the only one wondering how stepping into the creep must feel like?
no
14:49 I hadn't heard of the rule against mind controlling enemy workers. escaping in the shuttle with a mind controlled worker is difficult. building an off race base and army with upgrades is a huge investment and there's a window of time where the protoss is at increased risk of being crushed. if someone wants to try it against me I would be all for it.
in the early days of warcraft 2 on kali the rule against offensive towers was pretty common, but that's no longer a thing
Really impeccable Zerg play. Wow. Incredible!
Glad you enjoyed it!
at 27 minutes I really feel like the zerg players got this. devourer/hydra is a good way to deal with corsairs so guards can dps
The contain by the Protoss just felt like it had no real long term plan.
No real plan at all.
That laugh at 19:58 should be a ringtone :)
That was, as you would say “bonkers”, this looked like larva all over, micro all over and wait out, unusual but id bed £10 it was him
That was a master class in Zerg spell casting. Pretty sure I even saw a parasite in there for good measure! Also, that zerglign at 17:17 in Smash we call that a sticky walk...(I'm going to turn you into a smash commentator one random factoid at a time XD)
The three races are really close to Robert Heinlein's 'Starship Troopers' novel. (Not that the bugs turned into buildings) But the design of each race is a bit more than coincidental I would say.
Not an RTS, but the zerg are based on the Tyranids of warhammer 40k, the protoss on the Eldar/Tau, and the Terran on the Space Marines. If I'm not mistaken the game was originally conceived as a WH40k game. Likely that the designers of 40k took inspiration from Heinlein and Orson Scott Card. Halo's flood and covenant are really simaler as well
just to clarify that's according to the makers of starcraft. erm: the "the zerg are based on the tyranids" part, dunno about the rest.
...I always forget about the shadow in the warp when thinking things through whenever 'nids vs zerg comes up (it comes up a lot) short version is that it's a really interesting matchup riiiiight up until you remember that the 'nids would just straight up shut down the zerg hivemind and quite likely take it over.
Turning Hatchery into Hive increases HP a lot, another good reason for mass Hives especially if its a backbone of economy :)
Good point!
sorry, what an HP is?
@@castro_458 Hit points.
@@FalconPaladin so every single unit, produced at a hive has more hit power than it was produced at a Hatchery?
@@castro_458 No, the hive itself has more health than the hatch or the hive.
Ensnare and Acid Spores... at the same time?!? It's like Zerg Christmas.
from best defense to best offense real quick.. nice game!
FME is the only situation a devourer/guardian/queen thumbnail doesn't guarantee a zerg loss
haha
If protoss used archon, carrier, scout, reaver, and dragoon, with zealots I think protoss would have won
every intro i pray you're not just having a stroke
Thanks!
Sooooo great on this extremely exciting map…
Really close and exciting match!
that might be a resemblance of the fall of Aiur... XP
That's some awesome fight, though I wished he used Plague to add to the awesomeness
GG!
I wanted the mass scout so badly !
Tnx.
Huge great zerg play. I love it
I haven't see Hallucination in your videos. I'd love to see pros using it :)))

Wanted who won to win so bad even though I am a terran fan and dont like zerg or toss that much. Great match and an even better win💯💯💯💯
Holy cow, how much MEAT is, omg!
Deserves epic tag in my opinion, sure it was a bit boring but it was great containment and breakout. Give me more reasons why it's not a epic game
not enough action, cringe-worthy protoss decisions
@@majermike agreed
Did Aiur get hit with Covid?
In Warcraft, wisps are used to similarly as drones in SC.
True.
But SC predates WC3. :)
Why would he send Reavers with no ground support with Zealots or Dragoons? I feel P could have won had he maintained the pressure on Z.
Knows that corsairs & shuttles are threat, not a single spore colony near the border.
Amazing zerg . 👍
Hello everyone,
Does anyone know what happened to the Korean Protoss player, Rain?
I was looking forward to seeing more of his games, and all of a sudden he stopped playing. Is he in the army or is he recovering from RSI or some other type of injury?
Thank you.

What happened to RJB TV UA-cam channel? Can’t find it anymore. Did UA-cam strike it down?
Yeah, he's working on getting it back.
Falcon if I visit USA would you down for fan meet up? Which city you live? Been your fans for at least five years… we can talk SC and play :)
that was truly awesome
Man that was so good
You said: "increasing damage by every hit". The devouwers are just slowing the attack rate of the corsairs. No?
Spores debuff enemies in two ways: first, each Acid Spore attached to an enemy unit will increase the Cooldown of the enemy's weaponry by 1/8th of the original cooldown value. Spores will not prevent an enemy unit attacking; the slow effect is useful only up to the seventh spore. Carriers have no attack to be slowed, but their Interceptors do. Second, for each spore, a unit takes one extra damage per attack. A Hydralisk that would deal 10 damage instead deals 19 damage to an enemy with nine spores. In team games, Valkyries and Corsairs pair with Devourers to obliterate any air composition.
@@FalconPaladin Thx. I played broodwar like 15 years. Bud didn´t knew attacking units would get +1 atteck by every acidspore that is on the enemy unit.. thats nice.
I think the Protoss brings it home
Once again, I was wrong😂
"Corsair", meaning "Correr, to run" and "s'air, his air", so "Runs through their airs"? 🤔
I don't understand how blue had a total contain on orange for so long and then blew it.
Good players, but not great! Toss had him on the ropes but he didn't push in with the reavers fast enough. Also reaver drops were useles... without even observers... must better off to storm drop. Cheaper... use hallucination to get in.... and you'll reduce their drones by 75%. Good players, but several key factors that could of changed the outcome of the game.
yea the protoss guy wasn't too good. reavers in large numbers suck unless intensively microed. they all fire at the closest unit and overkill it to hell. often the damage from a large volley is less than the cost of the scarabs.
I know it’s cliche, but we all win with a fastest map ever courtesy of FP!
oh. my. god.
Wow, around 14:30 - 15:00 ish, u were sayin how it's not allowed for protoss players to mind control a worker of another race and have more than race going. Is that true? When did that happen? Could someone please expand/explain to me please? I played starcraft (brood war specifically) A LOT in early 2000s. It's prob been about 15 years or so now since then (god im old.. Just turned 33 on may 1st lol). A few weeks ago I just kept randomly thinkin about it, and now I been watching vids the past few weeks, and I'm hoping to get the starcraft remastered version in a few weeks or something (I really wana play again so badly)
That's just a rule in certain FME tournaments. It's not a universal Blizzard rule or anything.
Why not just put a bunch of lurkers on the "drop zone" of the reavers?
Noobs try to MC workers sometimes. Man do they regret it when the entire lobby piles on them.
This is slaughter! Why not use Carrier instead of couriers?
Carriers are bad versus a good zerg, mostly. :)
That's a very mediocre protoss player. He should have target fired the devourers and backed the corsairs up with dragoons, and against hydras and zerglings he should have made mass zealots.
So goooooood!!!
I feel like he should've probably transitioned to scouts or half scouts half corsairs... corsairs destroy muta clouds, but get wrecked vs devourers and take too long to kill guardians, whereas scouts are as fast/faster, and absolutely trash both devourers and guardians. like 12 scouts can fly in & 1 shot them, retreat & kite the group. i know scouts always get crapped on, but they might have a place in mucho money maps.... but he was dedicated to trying to make his corsair & reaver combo work. The saddest part to me (& I know this feeling b/c I can mass units but can't cast spells to save my life) is that he got the corsair upgrade but then only used it like once or twice. When doing those reaver drops, if he blanketed the area around them with disruption webs, they would've been able to murder everything without getting hit. Kinda amazed his APM was like 300+, it looked more like 30 based on lack of casts.
Woo i love your vid
Download?
GG I can finally pee
Toss had a pretty poor strategy for fastest tbh. Make 12+ reavers, 4-6high templar, 4 arbies, and any leftover supply in zealots. Hallucinate, recall reavers and zealots and a few observers on his main. Storm workers and hydras, focus down the main hive with 6 reavers while the other 6 and zealots take out the lurkers. Get any tech if any units survive. Then go frontal attack with 12 sairs, zealot, goon, storm and a pair of arbs to stasis any annoying guards. GG
Zerg should have used mass ultra/ling with a few hydras and MASS plague on those reavers. Few devs to make the sairs less effective. In fpm zerg should
Be plaguing EVERYTHING because you can make like 8 defilers at a time 🤪
Prediction at 27 minutes is that orange wins :)
A little bit like Serral: He defends, and then he defends, followed up by a little more defending and then he wins the game :)
Well 90% of match. Toss player was spamming only corsairs and reavers. That's why he lost. Ground upgrades were late. So little casting. Went to dragons and high templar to late. Corsairs are horrible late game. No stasis maelstrom or recall.
What is a fastest map?
Reverse ending
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
Cool match.
Why is mind controll with dark archons forbidden in tournaments and people will hate you if you do it in friendly play? I dont really understand it. Its a game mechanix, its not a bug or an exploit, its even very hard to do. Can some1 explain?
Only on fastest. And it is because only one race can do it. The reward for succeeding is usually an instant win, which is rather unfair given how easy it is. In competitive play in all kinds of games they often decide to ban mechanics or characters for simply being too overpowered.
@@RJB_TV I am a new player to Starcraft brood war (player only campaign before) so thanks for the answer. Also very interesting replay.
@27:30 I predict Zerg will win.
Why it is called fastest map?
I watch RJB replays too but his commentary isn't as good as FP's even though FP rambles a little too much.
i normally always root for protoss but for some reason i was feeling this zerg and ill just say ive never on your channel seen someone get dropped that many times and have such minimal damage done to their economy. was just a matter of time for s to break out and trample
Holy hell blue sucked. All he had to do was siege the front and slow push. Dude had the MAP
All time he trying drop he can simple walk million river with A move on front door. This count rivers die they simple can A move without drop)
but how can he cross the river?
What is up the map textures? They look absolutely terrible.
Mean comment.
better watch computer vs computer than, watching reavers loosing from sunkens...
:)
I predict Zerg shall win.
