I put in my plots by forestry mulcher as well. In one year, most of that mulch will start to break down significantly. You will likely need ALOT of lime. Check soil in the spring. Get ready to spread 2 or 3 tons per acre. Not sure if you are surrounded by ag, but my tract is all big wood for miles and miles. Winter Rye is the best IMO. Heavy too, 200 lb/acre minimum. First year I had the plots, they mowed the brassicas down with in a month, then I had nothing.
Looks really good, Blair ! Hope that seed and work will produce a nice honey hole for the deer. Love to see the family out there having fun.
