    I’m super impressed that he’s done this all by himself! Looks amazing! Huge progress!

      I was pretty impressed myself! I was surprised to see how much progress he made in such a short amount of time.

    Yes!!! Perfect for a pond!! I love y’all’s property. It’s absolutely beautiful!

      Thank you! We can't wait to get that area cleaned up and get a garden in over there. It's going to be really nice if we can get a pond to work for us over there to utilize the water for the garden and orchard.

    26:58 y’all are absolutely adorable. I love that your husband was not mad at all by you hitting that post. That’s what marriage is all about, helping and laughing at the happy accidents. ❤❤

    • @CelebratingFarmLife
      @CelebratingFarmLife  4 дні тому

      I didn't actually hit the post but came pretty close. I was having trouble turning sharp since it was in 4-wheel drive. But Bill is very lighthearted about most things 😉 Me on the other hand (if you haven't figured out yet) am very hard-headed and stubborn and just a little on the OCD side of perfectionism 😂

      😂🤣 He was too!! 😂 Got his exercise for the day. Wait until you find out in our next video how Bill got him moved to the other pasture. You will roll over laughing!

    18:13 amen! They certainly do NOT make things like they use to. Yall are blessed to have all this equipment made by his granddaddy

      Yeah, we have a lot of rusty yard art to use around here 😂 But so blessed to have it around and actually be able to use. And such a great reminder of his granddad to have all his old stuff he made. I LOVE anything old and antique!

    Fantastic job getting your soil worked and great idea about putting a small pond over by the trees with so much clay to retain the water for your gardens you plan on putting in. Another idea might be to create what's called swails because you could put fruit trees on the high side of those swails and they drink from the contained water. Swails are also a good way to divert water that pools around your property combined with ditches that would divert into the swails. Something for you all to consider is investing in some wood chips to bring over to your already established garden beds with all that clay. They break down over time and loosen up that clay and you just pull the chips back to plant. Might be a good idea to invest in a wood chipper with all that wood you all have. Just some ideas I was thinking about as I watched your video. Your goat was hilarious following you around, lol.

      Thank you! Lots of great suggestions! We still have a lot of work to do to get that area cleaned up and like we want it. Bill is still working on getting the pond dug out and creating ways we can utilize the water in that area. We've been wanting to get a woodchipper for a while now, but with the cost of things these days, we just have to obtain what we can, when we can. Until then, we have contacted a company to bring in some wood chips to use in our bedding and garden areas. It does make some great compost! Yes ma'am, Shay can be quite comical 😂 We appreciate you watching! ❤️

      Hence the Dog Mom hat 😂🤣 We recently lost our Schnauzer, but when Shep came we went back up to six. The other 5 we've had since they were born, and I ended up being "dog mom" to 7 puppies. We rehomed 2 but after hubby had to deal with me crying for weeks on end, he said we're just keeping the rest of them. So, long story short, that's how we ended up with so many and I wouldn't trade any of them for nothing...#majordogpeople 😂🤣

    Oh Dear Guys, yes the Fleas. Here in PA everyone is having issues. They tell us that we are the ones spreading with the crazy weather. They get on our clothes and we are bringing them into the house. Shay is adorable, I am happy with the animals, they tell us all. My Cat is indoor and my Friend's rescue of cats is indoor and they all have fleas. It's Crazy. Here where I am, the Fox and Coyotes are crazy, so that could be contributing.
    PA Weather is crazy, we go from 70 to 30 in 3 Days. I don't want harsh winter, I am getting older, but I am not leaving my old 1930 home.
    Love you both and Happy Thanksgiving, mine is so different as I am cancelled, but I am having my niece and nephews and one cousin with her family for a Saturday Brunch. Thank goodness the kids do not dismiss me. My Heart would be broken. Pray to Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit and have a wonderful Holiday.

      Shay is such a sweet goat! ❤️ He has been with us for a long time!
      That's crazy that you are having trouble with fleas too! We have had a time with them this year for some reason and don't know where in the world they came from. Hopefully we can get them under control. If we have a good freeze this year, that will certainly help. You be careful with those Foxes and Coyotes. We have them here too and they can be such a nuisance!
      The weather here in SC has been up and down...hot/warm one day and cool/cold the next. We hope you don't have a tough winter ahead of you, but always good to be prepared...just in case.
      We absolutely love older homes! They don't build them like that anymore!
      We hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! We know how hard it is on so many that have to spend it alone. Families don't seem to gather together these days like they used to. Very sad! 😢 We are glad to hear you'll be spending some time with your niece and nephew and your cousin and her family. That will be nice!
      We will be sending up lots of prayers for sure for all of the many blessings our Good Lord and Savior has bestowed upon us and praying for all of the victims that are still dealing with the devasting effects of the recent hurricanes. 🙏🙏
      Thank you for sharing another great channel! We love watching Patara too! ❤️
      You take care! God bless you and your family! ❤️❤️

    Oh man!!!! I love the old equipment! They are made so much better than today. How nice to use then Bill. I’ts wonderful to see you using your Granddads equipment ♥️Good jog Mimi! But I suggest you move your goats before you grind up that pen 🤣 I’ll check out Katie and John. Ah…I was a bit confused watching you lay down seed with a goat in there. You’re going to move him…got it. lol..I’m a city girl here who knows nothing about farming. Nice video ❤ Love from Michigan-Connie

      Hey Ms. Connie, we have an upcoming surprise for you...stay tuned - it will be coming to Michigan very soon! ❤️❤️
      We love all the old equipment too! Poppy knew what he was doing and made some really nice stuff - you can't buy that from a store these days. I'm very thankful to be able to still use them. We should have moved Shay before we started, but it was getting late, and we were trying to rush to get it done. But he sure was a hoot to have around, none the less 😂 We did get him moved into the area behind the barn until his pen grows back up some.

    That’s crazy - we had a flea outbreak in our neighborhood - but it was easily explained because the houses are pretty much stacked on top of one another… so they can easily go from yard to yard. But I’ve never heard of a flea outbreak on farm fields. Crazy, but your husband is probably right about the mild winter.

    • @CelebratingFarmLife
      @CelebratingFarmLife  4 дні тому

      Yeah, it surprised us too! We have no idea where they came from. We've never had them down here. Hopefully, we have them under control now!

    I was nervous with that little friend on your cap. That old equipment is amazing. I hope to see some seed growth. I don't have flea problem on the doggies. I hate fleas.. lol.. the goat was cute following you around

    • @CelebratingFarmLife
      @CelebratingFarmLife  3 дні тому +1

      I didn't realize it was on my cap until I edited the video. Luckily, no stings! I hope the seed does well for us too! I fought all summer with it, but hoping something will come up for the winter months. I despise a flea! We have no idea how we ended up with them here. We've never had this problem, but apparently, we're not the only ones. Shay is a mess! He's our oldest goat on the farm, so he's the boss!

    Was looking to see what you can grow in red clay, and it says shallow rooted vegetables like lettuce and either pole or bush beans and beets. Seems like radishes would work. Only short variety carrots.
