I am going to try this to redevelop my tennis serve. I never pitched. Thus far, I like it. It teaches you how to crack the whip and internally rotate quick.
I read "Pitching Isn't Complicated" and am a fan. That said, I like Tom House's work too and you're using a giant shirt rather than a 4 X 24 towel as Dr. House prescribes and the main complaint is feel. Maybe that is why a balled up shirt in the hand feels awkward.
I've used all types of towels and shirts, all lengths and sizes. Rather than disprove why a towel is a good tool (it's just not), why not ask why it IS a good tool compared other options? As someone who has thrown a ball for living, I find fake towel throws to be incredibly un-life life, unrealistic and uncomfortable. Overwhelming majority of my students felt the same. Praise for the feel of the water bottle was near universal. Too many people get entrenched with old ways of doing things.
Thank you coach!❤️❤️🔥

I’m sure it could help with that. Would probably feel a lot like a racket, since you’d have the handle in your hand. Makes sense to me!

You have a video that shows the water bottle drill?
yes
Working with my little league kids I feel as if the towel drill gives them a sense to slow down to focus on their mechanics
