Thanks for the update on Trish sounds like she had a good morning. 55km a week in the off season, I am looking to run 25-30km up to Christmas as my first marathon for 2025 is 2March, I might need to rethink my mileage.
Hey mate, it's all relative. I'm happy running 5-6 days a week and averaging around 10k a day. For others it might be less or more. Do what feels comfortable, but make sure you have a good fitness base to kick off that marathon training block early next year. Good luck with it. 👍
How good is Trish's honesty at the end! Loved it! You each made the perfect call to enjoy your morning 👏 Dropping the mileage for a few months and upping the strength work sounds smart Neil, and could help extend your running life with the knee for sure 💪 Maybe the half in Hobart could be a good lead in to a full in Ballarat 3 weeks later...🤔Just throwin it out there ☺
Haha, yes she does keep it real. Nice seed to drop there with Ballarat perfectly timed after a half in Hobart. However, spending almost 3 weeks in Japan in March, then down to Hobart - not sure work would be keen for me to take more time off. 👍
@@runwithwoody That's fair enough Neil 🙂 You're no doubt looking forward to getting a taste of the running culture in Japan, and we'll look forward to some interesting videos coming back our way 👍
An interview with Jim Walmsley a few hours after broke the Western States record in 2019. You could hear the crowd in the background cheering on the slower finishers. Jim interupted the interview, paraphrasing his words: "these are the real warriors coming in now", then he said and I quote, "believe me, it's a lot easiers running 100 miles in 14 1/2 hours that it is doing it in 24!"
It's tempting mate, but not sure I could get Trish to come with me. Might have to fly solo for that one, although it's pretty close to Cairns Marathon as well. 👍
Thanks!
Cheers mate! You are awesome. 👍

Haha. Thats an awesome attitude Trish. Brought a smile! Keep treating yourselves w kindness and not pressure.
Thanks mate, she got a chuckle out of your comment. 👍

Appreciate everything you do Woody, many thanks and hope the knee holds up for many years
Much appreciated, I hope to be doing this for a few more years yet. 👍
Look forward to seeing you in Sunshine Coast, coach 🎉
Looking forward to it. 👍
Kudos for Trish. How many times do we run when we're really not feeling it! Love it that you guys are running for enjoyment 😊
That's what it's all about, Helen. It's got to be fun, otherwise why would we do it. 👍
If you have never done it, the Great Ocean Road (1/2) typically in May is simply my favourite Australian run. I could not recommend it more highly.
I hear it's a great run. I'll have to check it out one day. 👍
Good on you Trish 🫶
I might be trying your approach at the next event.
Life's too short to do stuff when you'd rather not 💪👏🫶
Trish is definitely running her own race. 👍

Hey mate, that is so true. There are some true warriors out there that slog it out and just get it done. They're the real inspiration. 👍
Weipa has a Marathon festival in July and Parkrun if youre considering a different destination
