*****UPDATE NEWS FLASH 2/2/2019 We have now used the microfibers on ALL of the cleaners and the results still came out the SAME :)) wait until you try it, you will be as floored as we are how little of the waterless you use and how fast they clean and they are silky smooth when you are done, which allows the glass to move faster through the window seals***** Hello our great Subscribers we have another simple test and this time it is glass cleaner, our results shocked us just as much as you. *****WE Tested Each cleaner with the EXACT cloth they recommend, had they all said to use a microfiber would have.***** As you know glass cleaner is one of the most important tools for detailing a car and this is why we did this test. Try the test yourself and you will find the same results :) We will see you this coming Thursday for another DIY car Tip/Hack.
Nice test! Quick question;. Is the Rain x waterless safe for tint or should I stick with mild soapy water?
Thank You.
DroneWolf Media we have found great results with the tinted windows and the waterless
@@SweetProjectCars thank you sir!
Thanks for posting the comparison,,,,Today 1/28/2019 I bought a bottle of the Rain X waterless and cleaned the front door of my house,,,A 36 x 84 inch Glass Door,,,The glass came clean no smears or smudges,,, The easiest way to Clean my Door Ever,,,, Thanks Again,,,Best Regards
Great video as always mike.
Give my home brew glass cleaner a try.
For 1 gallon go,
3 1/2 quarts distilled water
1 pint 91% rubbing alcohol
1 pinch dawn dishwashing liquid
I’ve used this for years.it works better than any glass cleaner I ever used, consumer and commercial grade.
Keep the videos coming
How would that work on a Harley Windshield.?
You have to be really careful what you put on them....
@@reaperronin8898 I would use a waterless wash on it it will work great and never allow it to scratch or stain
Thank you for doing these tests guys. Your 303 review got me to buy the product and ever since then I’ve gotten a bunch of complements on my boats interior. Its a fishing boat that gets very bloody and salty from the SF bay and that stuff keeps the vinyl looking great. I’m going to try the Rainx to see if it will help fight the salt build up on my windshield.
this is a good topic,I have found over the years anything that comes in an aerosol completely smokes anything that's straight liquid, gunk, invisble, and even scrubbing bubbles haha I love that stuff will outshine and completely leave your glass streak free ,again great video as always and this is a great topic as I hate doing windows
I'll have to try the waterless wash. My challenge has always been streaking and haze on the inside of the windshield in direct sunlight 😁. Thanks for putting this together!
We have found no ill affects from using it it is by far the best cleaner we have ever seen and we have tried them all it is our new go to from here on out
I'm wondering if the microfiber gave the rain-x an unfair advantage?
Patrick that’s why we mentioned in the video that we used the exact item that the manufactures called for that way everybody was on the same page the other products called for paper towel and the waterless wash called for microfiber
Well that is just good thinking on rain-x’s part.
WE Tested Each cleaner with the EXACT cloth the manufacturers recommended, had they all said to use a microfiber would have.
@@davebliley5361 yes i agree
Yes, its not apples to apples even though "per instructions" is a logical fairness. I don't consider this fair enough (plus, he flipped the rag with RX Waterless).
Did most of the windows on the inside of my house...very nice! Large mirrored glass doors ...no streaks!
Just for the heck-of-it, I tried it on my stainless steel refrigerator; it did a decent job.
Again, thanks for the tip.
Kntryhart thats great to hear! we love the stuff now our wives love in the house as well...
Did I say Windex? I meant to say Rainx waterless. (stupid auto-correct)... Lol, I really thought windex would win.
I knew Windex wasn't going to win. I use it all the time and I am frequently dissapointed. Don't even try to use it on a hot sunny day with warm glass.
Windex is trash
You may find the micro fiber cloth is the reason why it comes out so well. I have used invisible glass and then a dry micro fiber after. window looks mint.
Steven Park we were aware of that but to keep the test fair we used what each manufacturer suggested to use
I use Invisible Glass except I use a microfiber, my guess for bestest.
AMERICAN LEGEND Me too. I think it’s the best I’ve used.
Tony ORourke the waterless washes, if you ever try one on glass you will be hooked as we are
I’d also like to point out that Invisible Glass is the safest on tinted windows.
Under Dog maybe invisible glass was before, but there is a new kid in town called waterless car wash it is absolutely the best cleaner and the safest for tinted window.
I always streaked windows that's why I hated cleaning the windows until I used invisible glass. My girlfriend always Street the house windows and bay window so I had her try the invisible glass. and that's all she will use now. But I just ordered the waterless on Amazon to give it a try. Great video!
From my experience the invisible glass in the aerosol is bettter. Idk why, I'd imagine it'd be the same formula, but it just seems less watered down.
Agreed, I had the best luck with the aerosol as well.
MrMusicweekly I totally agree with you sir. A car detailer told me the same thing, to buy the IG that comes in a can and I wouldn’t have no problems with it, even use it on chrome too.
Yes, it is so much better.
MrMusicweekly I swear by that stuff too; actually feels tacky to me when it dries as it removes EVERYTHING. (the aerosol)
AV8R BRI the waterless feels like silk when you are done
Great test, thank you. It's interesting how a product made for paintwork excels with glass too.
Very interesting. I'm going to buy some waterless and try it. This was very imforative, however the use of different towels should not make a difference. Back in the day I used newspaper and vinegar mixed with water and most people commented while riding in my car that it looked like I didn't have glass. The texture of the newspaper actually polished the glass. Thanks
R M WE Tested Each cleaner with the EXACT cloth the manufacturers recommended, had they all said to use a microfiber would have. can you imagine if we would have used whatever we wanted everyone would have said you didn't use what they said you should use...lol
Thanks for the review my friend I love my windows clean now I know what works the best I used to used white vinegar with water mix and it works great 👍 too
How does it compare to the rainx 2 in 1 I just bought it should I just use it or should I return it and go for the rainx x car wash and rain repellent or just buy it next time I need a window repellent?
GODSOFTHEGUITARS you can use it but the waterless will do the same job but better in our book.
Hello, any product to recommend for glas to feel little bit oiled like waxed my windows going up and down slowly unless they are wet . I tried wd40 on sides and it did helped bit but wear off quickly thank you
Try silicone spray. Not wd40. I have the same issue with a 17 accord; only when the windows are wet the two front close (go up) slowly. Sometimes when using the 'auto up' they go up 75-80% of the way, failing, and re-opens. If silicone spray doesnt work ---> likely tint paper is interfering with the grapling or motors are failing.
I just use windshield washer in a spray bottle.
You can get a gallon for less than 2 dollars.
I'm surprised I never considered that! Smart :)
Windshield washer spray bottle the best !!! Cheaper. Windex contains oil
@@hippo-potamus I use the rainx ones that come in the 1 gallon jugs. I forget what it's called but it repels water and makes it bead.
In the northeast snow and rain can be a pain but aslong as your glass is clean the water doesn't stick to it.
Not safe for tint I assume?
Alfred Hernandez all the waterless washes are safe for tint and it makes them smoother to the touch which allows the glass to go up and down much easier
That's amazing Mike, and I was wrong again 😂
What an unfair comparison, we all know that micro fiber cloths picks up more dirt. You should have used the cloth on all of the windows to be fair. Windex would have won no question! I've used all the cleaners you just used and Windex always come out on top!
DJ Shawn W We Tested Each cleaner with the EXACT cloth the manufacturers recommended, had they all said to use a microfiber would have. can you imagine if we would have used whatever we wanted everyone would have said you didn't use what they said you should use it would have been total mayhem with the comments...lol
Windex always wins hands down for me.
Windex is the worst for leaving streaks
Invisible glass
Headerflame on IG Steve Entler it’s what I use
Outstanding review! Damn, you just gave me the Sweetest Glass Cleaner tip for my tint customers. The front window shield is usually the hardest to get streak and smudge free. I usually use the 91% Alcohol but will be trying your highest award of 10 sweets review for the RainXWaterless! Thank you Mr Mike! As always, Keep up the good work, much support from an old subscriber!
Halsey Marcoux you are the best my friend :)
What about water spots , where I live the air quality is bad, when it rains it leaves a deposit or spots , I have also tried the micro fiber towel , didn't help. You think the rain-x and micro fiber will remove the water spots ???
It’s worth a try with the rain ask but we have other videos that deal with water spots as well
Thank you I really appreciate these videos. Keep up the great work !
I’ve been using Invisible Glass for 15 years, it personally never disappoints. Let’s see what happens.
I have a cleaning business I am going to try that on a French pane windows! I will let you know. I might be buying the girls a new product. Going to have to try that on shower glass as well because their window cleaner removes hard water from glass. Love your channel I apply a lot of your tricks to houses and of course the cars I detail on the side for my residential customers.
I always learn something :) Thanks for sharing :)
Cleaned the very beat up front window on my 1989 Daihatsu Rocky the other day using 0000 steel wool, Simple Green glass cleaner (because that's what I had) and squeegee it off with a 6" cut down custom one I made. Best it's ever been! I don't think we have that rain-x waterless in Australia
To be fair, the test should have a second part where the other cleaners are removed with a microfiber towel. Just a thought.
We did the test using exactly what the manufactures call for to be used with their product if we would’ve used anything else other than that everybody would’ve said you didn’t use the right cleaning towel for that product so we followed their instructions to a T
Thank you for all the good tips you guys give us
I say invisible glass
I never used invisible glass liquid cleaner. I always used the aerosol. I tried using the regular rain x cleaner about 6 years ago and it made my windows a hot mess. I haven't tried the waterless cleaner yet.
By the way, thank you for your recommendation of 303 for reconditioning and softening dry leather. I ordered some and soaked the heck out of my sons Audi A4 seats and let it sit for a good 30 minutes after cleaning them with warm water and coconut milk shampoo.
It took a few applications over a couple of weeks to get that leather to finally soften up cause it was so dry. Each time we used fairly warm water and coconut milk shampoo to clean them and open the pours up, then applied the 303.
I'm going to have to try the rain x waterless. Great info as always
Thanks for all your help and hard work.
You are correct sir! I would have never guessed, I've been hooked on an aerosol foam for awhile, but I'm going to try RainX waterless. I have to cuz SPC uses it so it must be good! 10 sweeeets to you! Hey where's Julio?
Heya Sweet, I won't use windex unless it is strictly no alcohol and have never bought any rainex for glass. Always liked the way invisible glass works that's my guess.
As always keep'em comin' and thanks
Groover :)
SPC that's crazy... Great Sunday review and just in time cause I was low on the rainx glass cleaner which I love but will make the investment in the rainx waterless wash plus I just got my new squeeze today but I will just use the microfiber towels
Are both rain-x products safe for tint films ?? I’ve been using invisible glass and have had great results. Microfiber cloth always give better results compared to paper towels. Save the paper towels for mopping up spills and such - just my opinion 🤘🏼
Dr. Sudsy the waterless washes of today are safe for tint and if you ever try one on glass you will be hooked as we are also we used the towels each product advised to use :)
Does the waterless apply the "Rain-X treatment" and repel water? Also does it help prevent fogging inside the car?
It does everything you mentioned, we were shocked at the results it is our new go to cleaner for all our customers
What is the best way to clean the inside of the windshield from top to bottom?
Awesome thanks for that comparison I’m going too buy some right now👍🏻
Mike Bishop you will be hooked for life as we are now.
In the past I know people used lamp gas and newspaper to wipe windows and it worked great dissolving grease and leaving them streak free. Thanks Mike !
Thank you bobuflh, for watching and sharing, we appreciate it my friend. Hope you have a great day. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Thanks, have a great day !
My vote is for Invisible Glass based on my experience. We will see....after watching I have to say the test wasn't really seeing how you used the Microfiber, though I'm sure it is a fine product.
spoonman73 WE Tested Each cleaner with the EXACT cloth the manufacturers recommended, had they all said to use a microfiber would have. can you imagine if we would have used whatever we wanted everyone would have said you didn't use what they said you should use...lol
I’ve used ONR on glass and it worked great. Don’t know if rainx has same technology but I would image it does. So not too surprising. Thx, Sweets!
Stoners invisible is my guess.
Hey ya!!...I'm the original Nomadman................................and have a 56 Nomad
Does waiting for it to rain count?
One thing to consider when cleaning windows, if you have Tint, do not use a cleaner with Ammonia in it.
Thanks for the tip.
Facts, Unless you want purple windows!
What is the best cleaner for tinted windows ?
My testing is on the inside of windshields and I really like the results from Invisible Glass and Sprayway foam.
once you try a waterless wash you will not use anything else thats for sure
Yea, but will it take that film on the inside of my windshield off? I try and try, then when you drive and the sun in low, shining through the windshield all you see is streaks galore...
By the way, what is that film from anyway??? Nobody smokes in the car and my heater core is not leaking.
gac107 waterless is safe for tint, not sure on why it films up on you, could be bad breath...just kidding
@@SweetProjectCars I'll lay off the garlic and see if it helps...
gac107 dont do that...you gotta have garlic, my friend, it is the best seasoning around...
Which ones are good for the inside of a tinted window?
goatmonkey2112 the waterless washes work great for tinted windows
Invisible Glass!
Wow !!! Just what i figured... Lol nott. Love your videos but man you Have cost me alot of money buying these things lol ..but well worth it.
Even bought the o zone machine. And i love it
Never had any problem with vinegar and water wiped with newspaper. Until the internet replaced newspapers.
Fred Flintstone we did not say there was any problems we are just showing the new advances in the automotive detailing world that are amazing
I've used Invisible Glass since the '80s and it doesn't streak. Of course, maybe it's because I make 11 passes. ;)
Would it be safe for tinted windows?
BlockParty waterless wash mix works great on tint
Haven't looked yet. I purchased the invisible glass a while back. So I'll go with that one.
I think 🤔 maybe the micro fiber cloth helped a bit though ... I use them for all my cleaning and they seem to make a difference
SteelTxGal you are most likely correct but in order for the test to be correct, we had to use what each product advised to use on their product.
I know invisible glass is tint safe, but are the others tint safe?
Corando Garza the waterless is the safest you can use on tint and is the fastest window cleaner we have ever used.
So the car wash with a microfiber towel cleaned the window better than the same manufacture's glass cleaner with a paper towel?
News Now Dito yes, we used what they said should be used on their products
Is it safe for aftermarket tinted windows?
Tom Y yes it works great on tint and is safe
Well you learn something new every day thanks for the post :-))
Very cool, thanks again for all your sharing of information
Always looking out for us consumers MANY THANKS
BTW with the rainx, I barely had to put on the wipers driving thru a monsoon
Whoda thunk it? Very impressive results, my friend. thanks for posting this comparison.
Why did you not test sprayway glass cleaner? Ive used all three and i perfer the sprayway glass cleaner.
Victor Lopez as we said in the video it was for the most readily available and most popular among consumers. that's why
I have always loved rain-x products. Great review SPC 👍
My guess would be Windex ...but it has ammonia and that's not good if you spill some on your paint. I've always used Invisible glass with a microfiber cloth instead of kitchen paper towels which leaves lint.
Does any of these helps with water stains and calcium?
jose jesus contreras salazar see this video ua-cam.com/video/hBD9uU3XcRY/v-deo.html then when you are done with it use this amzn.to/2E7r2je and they will never spot again
The best way to test these glass cleaners is to take clean piece's of convex watch glass and put a drop of glass cleaner in each , let dry , if there is a residue then its no good . I was a lab tech in the automotive industry for many years . Windex is no good for automotive use because there is way too much surfactants , Invisible Glass is best , no surfactants .
Thank you for watching and sharing Trevor. Have a great day. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Funny, I’m in the PDR biz and just found the rainx this last fall. I agree it’s by far best cleaner I’ve found!
Ray I fully agree with you my friend
I bought some to try, GREAT STUFF!
You will absolutely love it as we do
I wonder how the waterless would have done with just a paper towel.
Hello JOSEPH that’s why we mentioned in the video that we would use exactly what the manufacturer calls for us to use on each of their products that way no one would say anything about the review the other products called for paper towel and the water loss called for microfiber
@@SweetProjectCars everybody knows microfiber towels work better than paper towels. I guess the designers of the other three dropped the ball in recommending paper instead of microfiber.
@@jwwilliams well they possible did drop the ball... the waterless wash companies know they can't make a product that is going to be used on a cars paint and the glass and have it end up steaking and smearing...hence the results of a perfect shine with great clarity.
@@SweetProjectCars ok brother. Love your show.
That’s a trip, I’ve always used windex guess I’ll change it up
Mike, I understand you were going by the manufacturer's instructions, but I am wondering if the microfiber towel made a difference in this test plus you turned the towel halfway through the wiping of the last test area. I would have guessed Windex to win so I am surprised by the results. Thanks for sharing Mike!
If we had not used at the manufactures had called for them the test would’ve been in valid
@@SweetProjectCars I understand your reply, Mike, and I agree that some would say the comparison would be invalid for not following the instructions. Do you feel, from your experience, that using a microfiber towel would have made a difference in the test with the other three products that called for using a paper towel?
@@benharrison1069 not sure on that because we wanted to keep it just as they call for it to be. I can't even imagine the comments we would have gotten if we used a micro on all of it...people would have come unglued if the results then came out different, saying you didn't use what the manufacturer said to use. they even complained about flipping the microfiber towel...when that's exactly what the manufacturer says to do...crazy, you can't win for losing sometimes
I want to see this test again, microfiber across the board! I use microfiber with the Stoners and its flawless. Use paper on that waterless, curious of the results.

👍
is it safe for tints?
it sure is
Great video guys you have cleaned up again
Sweet project cars!!!, I just watched your video (this one, about window cleaner). What I heard about Rain-X waterless is you mix with distilled water (50/50), as in one cup of Rain-X waterless, one cup of water Etc., then use "The mechanic" the blue shop towels!, you soak the towel in the rain x/water, your wring out the town (make sure the towel is damp), and you use it as a moist towel around your console, the radio face in your car, on the face gauge cluster inside and around the AC vents!!! It's supposed to keep a longer shine and spot resistance and you can also use it on the fake Chrome inside the car. I'm not sure it's a myth?? or a fact!!!, but I hope you can put it to the test!!!
goodguygto thank you for sharing my friend
Mike, is this ok for car interiors?
leefra1 we found it works great on all plastic and glass inside and out of the car.

I agree with some of the other comments as to the test being a bit unfair. I think a fair test would be to compare the 3 window cleaning products by themselves and if you were going to use the RainX waterless wash on the windows, then do a separate test comparing that with 2 other waterless wash products that require using microfiber rags as well and see which one of those 3 are better. Thanks for the great videos however. 👍
ldtriton we know that...but we used what each manufactures suggested to use on their product. and I can tell you we have now used the microfibers on all of the cleaners and the results still came out the SAME..
My guess the Windex.Started using this now and impressed by its cleaning power.
I use Invisible Glass and have never had a problem. It’s the best non smearing liquid I’ve tried. I use a micro fibre towel though.
Tony ORourke we are not saying it was bad we are just saying the waterless washes are much better and if you ever try them you will see why they won the review, my friend :)
It’s not sold here at present (UK)
To keep the results equal will you test all of the waterless washes? It's good to know that a carwash/wax works better than glass cleaner.
Ben Batchelor we have and found all the major brands do just as good as the rainX
Right I’ve paused it.
Now I’ve only used Invisible Glass out of these 4 and it was ok, not as good as what I normally use, AutoGlym’s Fast Glass.
I have used other Rain X products and haven’t been impressed with them....
Mmmmmm I gonna go with Windex as an educated guess ☝️
I’ve been using it in the house too, even on the shower door.

What about your video recommending window cleaner with ammonia and using a squeegee??
Brent Stogdill we love that method but now the new advance in cleaners we have to move on and stay with the times. it is faster and takes less product to get them spotless.
can i just use some IPA to clean the windows? thanks brother
My favorite window cleaner for a while now has been invisible glass!
The RainX waterless is $18 for 32oz, RainX window is $9 for 23 oz. Is it worth that much more to the average joe?
Not sure where you are buying it but it only cost 5 to 6 dollars a bottle and it takes about 1/16 of the amount on the glass to clean it compared to regular glass cleaner
@@SweetProjectCars I just followed the Amazon links you had posted, it was more expensive than I expected.
