Thank you!!! These are by far the best videos about construction/architecture. Not sure why you don't have more subs. I'm trying to get my builder's license and I'm willing to pay if you have classes. Would love to hear back.

Glad you like them! I actually run my own firm and creating videos takes a lot of effort and time. I hope archicorner will continue to grow and build up a library of videos for all to enjoy. Thank you for the kind comment.

Thank you, this was helpful! I never questioned the spacing. I just memorized 16, 24 by default.

I have a client with 12ft walls using 2x4s, but load beams sit on a two 2x4s, I’d like to get some advice on this

I’d recommend you hire a local architect or perhaps a structural engineer that can help with your specific projects. Thanks for leaving a message 😊 .

Depends on stud size, gauge, and height to resist L/240 (for interior)

While you are absolutely correct that the spacing does have a direct effect on the deflection of the wall, that is not why we use 12", 16" and 24" spacing. To make this point, we can say that 10", 15" and 20" spacing would provide the same concept when it comes to deflection. 10" spacing would even give you a better deflection result than 12" and 20" would provide a better deflection result than 24", but we don't use 10", 15" and 20" because gypsum board does not come in those sizes.
      Great point about the L/240!

@@archicorner You’re right‼️The module size of gypsum board dictates the spacing dims to mitigate waste. Always just took the spacings for granted, but makes sense.
