I have worked with many people from India and I have always been impressed with the drive to work hard, the business sense, and the entrepreneurial spirit. India has had to overcome so much, including hundreds of years of colonization, and is well on its way to returning to its status of being one of the world's great powers.

I recently saw a video comparing China's and India's growth since middle 20th century. It pointed out that both countries brought in jobs from foreign companies, but they were different types. India brought in "knowledge economy" jobs that relied on the highly educated, English speaking population. China brought in mass manufacturing jobs, which could hire people straight from the countryside with minimal training. So not only did China have a vastly larger population of people who could fill these jobs, but they could pay them very little. India's knowledge economy population was relatively small and had to be paid relatively more than mass manufacturing. You're right, manufacturing would certainly help India.

The American SaaS products are meant for Enterprises - the Fortune 500 companies whereas India's approach has been with the poorly contested SMB market. If and when Indian SaaS companies dominate the SMB market then we can challenge the Enterprise market with a very competitive pricing and features. This will ensure that India builds some great products and hence we transition from services to product based companies.

The problem with hardware manufacturing startup is the money required to setup a factory is very high and then you have to gain market share too, VC's will only invest in your country when you're making something unique or important.
We are seeing crazy amount of tech related startup's becuz they don't require crores of rupees to start the business and the VC's easily fund them becuz pretty much everyone has phones these days.

India is slowly awakening, and Modi has made a very large impact, but this should have happened over 20 years ago. The racial, religious challenges are not new to India as Israel, and other countries also have such problems but they have very successfully tackled these. China has been to known to state that they are the "white man" of Asia but thus is important, they think like Europeans, whilst Indians are struggling with own identity. But I am hopeful and feel we will overcome such hurdles, but time may not in our favour. War is looming. Keep our fingers crossed.

A startup is a company or an idea , concept ,it forms it starts and starts to grow in any field small or big.
Its not a just a software company or just a service company which our india is doing for nearly 3 decades .
If a startup has a profitablilty mindset then they would always work on fields , concepts and sectors which has profit rather the something innovative in some other field which needs innovation .
The main reason for startup funding it comes from outside sources ..mostly from China or UAE.

My question is on the tech side and I would like to know how do you think India got that right? Are there any subjects taught at primary or high school that are IT related? If yes please share. Are there any computer classes that are taught at primary or high school level?
I’d appreciate if you can help me on these questions as we trying to come up with a curriculum that can help kids to do well in computer studies.
