Invincible is, overall, the best super hero comic to read if you are looking for a series that actually does not have to revert to a status quo and can actually allow the characters to grow and evolve, to see consequences actually come forth from events and choices, and just manages to stick a landing.
I love Marvel and DC, but we often see relaunches, resets in canon, sliding timelines, etc, and that does not have to be a problem with an independently published series like "Invincible".
Jake, I highly recommend reading "The Astounding Wolf-Man" as a companion, as well as the material in the "Invincible Universe" Compendium.
It just amplifies the world.
