Jack is the last known survivor of the gang. To me, he’s the true victim of this story. He was born into a life he didn’t ask for, and he had to end the problems Dutch started. And then what is he left with after he kills Ross and looks at his revolver? Nothing. He’s left with nothing. Jack’s life is a true tragedy.
Expect he wrote a book called Red Dead Redemption

I just hope the easter egg in GTAV is actually canon. Cause if it is that would mean he eventually found peace in his life and became a writer.
I love that Edgar Ross looks so run-down and haggard by the time Jack finds him. It's great because it really tells us two things:
1. Ross has gotten old but more importantly, he's lost his station in life. He no longer holds the authority and purpose that he once did and the society that he has ironically fought so diligently to protect and uphold his whole life has cast him off like a useless burden (which actually vindicates Dutch's beliefs that "society" is ultimately detrimental to the individual).
2. There's no honor or glory in what Jack is doing. This isn't something to be proud of - he's a young man hunting down a miserable old fart who is far past his prime and probably longing for death anyway (which vindicates Dutch's beliefs that revenge is a waste of time).
...Either way, Dutch was right.
Dutch always went for revenge dafuq drugs you taking? He pursued Colm and that Italian douche for revenge
Dutch, come with your real id
Explain Dutch first point about society
His wife says the Bureau keeps sending him letters, probably trying to get him back in the service. And the government agent we talk to before says he earned a chest full of medals and was honored and revered. It seems to me society didn’t turn their back on him, quite the opposite. I wonder if everything he had done weighed on Ross so much he decided to leave it all behind. Though like the outlaws he hunted, he too is stuck in the same vicious cycle of death and redemption.
Dutch is the Walter white of the RDR story, he was not right by any stretch
Edgar Ross really makes Milton look like an angel
Yes Milton was just doing his job Ross is just evil
It's incredible to think that Jack could be an NPC from GTA SAN ANDREAS. He died in 1992
No he didn’t. Jack living until the 90s is fan fiction made up by whoever writes the Wikipedia page

You know Jack went about this in a really smart way. He didn't tell anyone his name, nor did he give them a fake alias. Only when he finally reached Ross did he say who he was. This is what likely lead to him actually managing to have revenge and get away with it. That's the mistake John made - he killed way too many on his path to Micah and left the perfect crumb trail essentially. Jack was a lot smarter than he let on which is impressive for the era.
That’s actually interesting you said that about jack
@@Takaichi666- I like jack a lot as a character. As I didn't do much of the side missions, challenges with john and went straight through the story. So when It came to getting 100 percent I had to do almost all of that with Jack and I bonded with him quite much. He needs a new game.

A dog walks into a bar and says to the bartender “I’m looking for the man who shot my pa’”

Jack truly is the smartest of the gang and learned from John’s mistakes. He was the last of them and all his life has seen the chaos the cowboy life brings. He lost nearly everything to it just by being a relative, and he wasn’t going to make the same mistakes his predecessors did.
Jack was patient as hell. He didn’t make a move until his mother was dead, he was a decently stable adult, and even waited for Ross to be a retired vet with no pull in government. He also left very little tracks, told nobody his name aside from Ross, and made little noise. Jack didn’t even let his temper move until it was about time to pull the trigger. Jack went in, did business, and walked out. He played the game of vengeance as smart as possible, with patience and strategy.
I just hope it doesn’t bite him in the ass later, afterall “Vengeance is an idiot’s game.”
I think John reflects Dutch’s legacy while Jack represents Dutch’s succession.
Dutch was a highly educated criminal consumed by darkness, now Jack is a new highly educated criminal consumed by darkness.
Ross killed Dutch’s legacy by killing John, but he didn’t kill Dutch’s succession which was Jack.

The very thing John died to keep him from
I hear you but what John and Arthur was doing is different from what Jack just did. Jack is for the most part an innocent man who’s a rancher. Him killing Edgar Ross was bringing everything full circle. It’s not like he killed him for money. Jack did what had to be done. In cannon their isn’t any indication that he went to live a life of crime because John fought hard to make sure they had a legit way of living. Ross lied to John and killed him in cold blood even after pretty much being promised amnesty. If Jack doesn’t eventually become the one to kill Ross then their is no full redemption for John, Arthur and Dutch. If like Dutch said “their time is up” is true then that goes for filth like Edgar Ross as well. This was the only way for the cycle to stop. Ross was still working. His wife said “I’d wish they’d leave him alone” implying he’s still working from time to time. Jack did what he was born to do. Even if it was just one moment. That was HIS moment.

To do the job he dressed like too many looked up to the most his father and his uncle Arthur Wearing his dad’s hat is uncle’s jacket
I cant help but wonder..if jack lived long enough ,he would actually be alive in time of elvis presley, merlyn monroe and just in general techonolgy and all other things..and still he was living in era of cowboys and has memories of gang and how life used to be in cowboys era.Thats crazy
Yes that is true, he would have probably even been alive to see Neil and buzz walk on the moon, and probably a very Old Man by the time the shuttle program occurred, or at least started. His little ones would have been around to see two very unfortunate events strike our nations space program
In 1986:Flight controllers looking very carefully at the situation here.... Obviously a major malfunction.... We have no downlink.... We have just received word from the flight Dynamics officer that the vehicle has exploded.
In 2003: Columbia, Houston, com check... Columbia Houston UHF com check...
GC, Lock the doors
And of course Jack would have been alive when a certain space disaster struck in 1967,at Launch Complex 34:
I've got a fire in the cockpit!.... We've got a bad fire.... Let's get out... We're burning up!!!
There was an American Civil War Veteran who lived long enough to see the early days of the space race I think.
I thought jack looked alot like John in fact i think that's why Ross asked do I know you to him because he sees john
There's a reason they're called R*
And Still Ross is right - John killed himself with the life he lived.
I like when the Stranger says "This is a fine spot."
Its the exact same spot John is eventually buried at the end of the game when Jack takes over.
5:38 Ross coud have killed Jack there if he wanted.
John: You eat babies!
Sasquatch: We eat mushrooms and berries, you fool!
John: You eat babies!
Sasquatch: You keep saying that. 5:40
And that... is destiny fulfilled.
Looks like we found gavin
@@yorkiemute5296 Oh fuck, it's him I think.
Nigel's been looking for you
@@postmanpat8166 damn, I’ve been found!
I loved how Jack was nice to the public making him think that he's a innocent cowboy until he meet Edgar 😂
I love the small detail that they first met down by a river. And they last see each other at a river
0:36 "oh great... mom's dead, too"
RIP . Arthur Morgan
After jack Marston said "I'm sure your husband will be just fine" that lady knew Edgar was gonna die
Great ending to an amazing game. I love rdr2 but I do wish it would have been a sequel to red dead and we got to play as Jack.
Nah probably rdr 3 talking about young arthur being outlaw with dutch and hosea. Or maybe arthur dad.😅
This is so weird like seeing how it all ended here. Red dead redemption 1 and 2 are masterpieces

@@liljim3058 pretty sure it was aurther morgin that says it first in the game.
It's crazy how only 7 Vander line gang member's survived Sadie Charles Tilly Josiah Swanson Karen and jack
Karen survived? How so?
Mary Beth, and Pearson. It’s not known what happened to Karen
Karen died by overdose of alcohol or she just loved a drunkard life
@@firesaint4569 There is a theory that Karen drank herself to death after Beavor Hallows considering Karen is an alcoholic.

I remember winning the duel with the semi auto gun. The guy got shot like 20 times lol completely unfaire and satisfactory.
watch to this while american venom is playing on a different tab
Jack :- i wanna be a gun slinger when i grow up
Abigail:- "oVeR mAh dEaD bOdY"
Jack(1914):- bet 😏
Am I the only one that kept shooting his dead body after the credits rolled?
Over here feller
Jack: "Enjoy your fishing old man, while you still can"
I always preferred to kill Ross with the M1911. It's poetic justice in a way.
RDR3 with Jack as the last Cowboy in WW1 France, he would escape his sentence by volunteering to fight with the American Expeditionary Forces and ends up sacrificing himself for a small French town. IDK, just a thought I had after beating the second game...
Jack ends up dying of age in the 90s
the way he looks at the gun he realizes the cycle will always repeat
Jack wears arthurs gunslinger coat
Anyone else notice that?
That’s not Arthur’s coat, there’s no black leather on the collar and where would John even of gotten his coat from. He either died and was buried with it on or it burned at beaver hollow with the rest of Arthur’s possessions
@@Outrigger200 dumb ass
@Oscar Zz They look a lot alike. However, Arthur's gunslinger jacket is leather and Jack's coat is a different tan with Arthur's collar being a lot darker.
@Oscar Zz Could be... But it could just be a coincidence. Nobody knows :/
@Oscar Zz It’s not Arthur’s coat stop reaching. Graphics don’t explain why the collar isn’t dark or why the number of buttons don’t match. The only thing John has that belonged to Arthur are his hat (which is non existent in rdr1) and his satchel (could be the same one John uses). The rest of Arthur’s clothes were burned after the pinkertons burned down the beaver hollow camp. The only reason John can “wear” Arthur’s clothes is simply for gameplay reasons but if we’re going by the actual story, Arthur was either buried with his jacket or his jacket got burned with the rest of his belongings. Jack doesn’t even really remember Arthur so stop trying to involve Arthur in everything now
