When selecting Heroes in the Archsage's Gauntlet, your choices can either make or break your run so in this video, I outline which Heroes you should & shouldn't be choosing when attempting to beat this Challenge Mode.

Miyabi is really good for the Seraph Genesis build team alongside Fiona, Masha (REQUIRED) and Nia as healers and either Melia, Rex, Alexandria or Cammuravi for attackers. The 4 healers are far better than the 2 additional attackers and generally you want Rex and Melia for that.
Edit - you do not need any defenders for this gamemode at all, and all agnians is actually very, VERY good for the gauntlet run. Agnian prosperity team with Seraph Sena blasting holes in waves with element genesis (Enel made a guide if you want to see it properly) has fantastic synergy with other Agnian heroes.

I understand your reasoning, but I disagree with Miyabi being unviable. Miyabi's skill Swiftsong boosts all allies' accuracy and evasion, which helps attackers miss less often and helps dodge tanks dodge more often. Ring of Roses is also great for faster recharge. I agree that Miyabi's healing is lackluster, but if you have a main healer like Nia or Isurd then Miyabi can be useful in the right situations.
The problem is that all those benefits you just mentioned are virtually irrelevant. Swiftsong is baso only good for the evasion (Which on certain builds is pointless anyway) because he over 4 or 5 times I have made it to Wave 140, I have never once missed an Attack. You simply don’t need the accuracy if you pick up the right Emblems. The evasion could be helpful but it’s kind of catch 22 again. Dodge tanks will benefit from this but for most other characters, enemy attacks will land regardless of you having that skill or not. If your using an FMJ evasion build which currently seems to be the best, then this is even more pointless.
As for Ring o’ Roses, it’s not bad but again, get the relevant emblems and you don’t need it. Her whole role and job is done better through these perks so you may as well not use her.
I will clarify that Miyabi isn’t actually bad as a unit. It simply comes down to in almost all situations, another different Hero would benefit you more then she would. Sure, her dying will refresh your arts but is that better then a Tank that will stay alive and take the Aggro whilst your dead? Is her dying better then a second Healer who will keep everyone alive by themselves? It’s not a matter of that she’s bad, she’s simply unviable because in almost all situations, you’d be better with someone else

Hard, very hard disagree.
Sena has the highest attack stat (which essentially forces you to use her), but has the lowest dexterity. Meaning Swiftsong is useful.
Plus Miyabi’s Chain Order acts as a Semi-Bravo if you only get Cool, because it reactivates an additional character with 25% chance for another. If you really want to benefit from Miyabi, use Mio as your Ouroboros character, because Miyabi’s Heroic Chain gives all of her TP to Mio.
Edit: Don’t forget her Talent Art. It recharges everyone’s arts AND pauses buff timers.
@Paul Rance I have yet to see Miyabi charge her talent art at all during the gauntlet, and swiftsong isn't necessary in the slightest with the right emblem selection. If you're so worried about accuracy, just use Noah instead of Sena since he has the second highest attack and better dexterity than her. Miyabi simply doesn't offer anything in the gauntlet that can't be substituted for something else.
Exactly! Miyabi is so far from being unviable. She's still great in the gauntlet. Her talent art even has reduced cooldown because she doesn't have access to master arts.
@@conorb.1901 How have you never been in a round long enough for her to use her talent art?? You must only be speedrunning with specific builds if that's true.

DLC Spoilers:
Shulk and Rex are incredible heroes for AG.
-Shulk’s break art is non-positional like Ino. Plus target lock from Monado rage becomes reliable with all of the debuff emblems.
-Rex comes with both a topple and launch art with extremely high damage/critical rate.
-Both of their chain orders are really good.
I’m pretty sure Ino and Ashera just got outclassed by them now LOL.
I just love how All 4 veteran heroes from XC1 and XC2 are some of the best hero picks 💕

Enel made a really good build with Seraph and the Chain Ring. You go Leveling Fire > Inferno Dance-Summon Element > Cross Impact > Element Genesis; with Flamelord-Quickdraw to recharge your Talent Art. It melts through enemies, even Moebius encounters and bosses
As a Thaumaturge advocate, I request you give Teach a little more credit. While he's not an excellent healer in the healing department outside *Wheel of Rebirth* , or especially without his sole-purpose art All-Slayer, he's definitely good at long fights with Divine Protection being his one way of easily charging his talent art because Divine Protection recharges pretty fast from what I've seen, but is also capable of keeping any present tanks in check from damage (Especially Lone Exiles). Then there's his version of Leaping Current which is Profound Strength; while it provides no direct healing, it's very good at keeping off the debuffs and reliably giving the party attack up. While it is true that Isurd's *Strengthening Gambit* is useful at making waves go faster, like I said, Teach can handle the longer fights with his Field and Lifesaving Fists. At best you should pick him up if you picked Ghondor and also gave him a Devotional Necklace, making him an adequate lifesaver.

I can’t beat those Mobieus in the final level On Pro Any tips i Have lucky seven Im using seraph I tried element genesis it didn’t work out for Me
What're some accessories you recommend putting on the heroes for the mode?
I recommend giving your healers the brute memory accessory so they can live at 1 HP guaranteed from attacks that would normally kill them along with giving them 5 seconds of invincibility (this resets for every wave!)
as for your tanks, I would give them memory lockets to make them revive Allies if and when they die.
Something else I should mention: every hero’s got access to all 5 of their normal arts + talent art, but in chain attacks, only their 3 primary arts will be available so make sure to manually arrange what arts+accessories you want to bring your optimized heroes into the gauntlet!

Just having a go at copying your setup now. As you appear to have given multiple Mercrurii Rings and Saturni Rings do you actually have multiple or were they swapped from one to another?

@@JBspherefreak ah, new game plus I imagine. I didn't feel there was enough pull for this one. I did XC2 NG+ as it offered several additional blades, but I haven't seen any notable rewards for this one
Pardon, but I would like to know where Rex and Shulk would be on the tier list.
Agnian is 100% the better race in this game mode so cammurvai and Alexandria are both highly viable
I also breezed through hard mode pro gauntlet all the way to the end with a team of both miyabi and juniper plus Alexandria and cammuravi and finally Marsha and melia. Was really easy with Sena as my lead
I actually disagree. When it comes to consistent builds, I find that Kevesi is far more reliable with them having far better Heroes for this mode like Melia, Ashera & Ethel + Eunie or Noah tend to be the best party members to play with due to their Chain Order and Lucky Seven. A complete Agnian build doesn't use a Defender and thus doesn't have the ability to Launch so I think Kevesi is actually much better but thats just my opinion
@@JBspherefreak yeh I do agree tho my build was less consistent for sure it was far more powerful so I guess it depends on wherever u want a slow gauntlet that’s consistent then go kevisi and if u want a quick high risk high reward guantlet then go for agnian

Nah. Sena has the highest attack stat, so you should use her.
You can go 4 Agnians. The other 3 hero slots will be for Masha, Melia, and Ashera.
@@catalyst539 Attack isn’t the be all end all, especially as soon as you bring it to a chain Attack where Taion will be far better with higher TP and a better chain order. I’d also argue Mio is better then Sena but yea
Why did you use eunie specifically for fmj? I know part of the reason is that she's kevesi but is there any reason why you aren't using Noah or lance?

You are really underestimate Ghondor there. Her 125 crit bonus is extremely powerful during Chain Attacks, which is the reason she's the Chain Attack champion on Hard Mode.
Daze is admittedly a problem for Ghondor, but you can make sure that it isn't fully charged at the beginning of each round.
Ethel isn't the only one with Smash. Unless you're using the Elemental Genesis build, you can simply slot in Saber Strike for every class, even FMJ.
Ghondors chain attacks are good but she is still from the City which can be complicated to incorporate on some builds. On top of that, I just think overall that there are better attackers so she has plenty of competition.
Ethel is the only Hero with a decent smash art. Ofc you should be running smash yourself
@@JBspherefreak Since the City bonus only requires 3 members it is still possible to run a hybrid build with Keves and Agnus. You get slightly less boosts than Keves/Agnus hybrid but in exchange Ghondor performs much better than the Nopon unless you lack a Breaker.
Do not buy Ethel, or Ghondor. They take aggro off your tanks.

What accessories? Masha’s ones? Those are luck based whether you get the one you want.
bad heroes like juniper and Valdi have some great qualities, Juniper is an agniun attacker and Valdi is kevesi healer, so they are ok for damage stacking and not being a tank that just sits there when everyone died from aoe damage.
You can make any Hero work but what this Tier List and video were looking at were which Heroes are better in most circumstances and add more to the build

@@windwaker0rules If your referring to the Kevesi/Agnian Zeal Emblems, then your not wrong but you don't always need to max them out. I find Melia is a clear example of this as I find her more useful on the field then the slight Attack and HP boost I would have gotten otherwise. You always wanna make sure your getting at least one of them active but yea

Elemental damage isn’t great. You mainly should use that hero for the Chain Attack.
Edit: Ashera is a FACE TANK. You said she was an EVASION TANK. Fact check next time.

Here are the heroes you should use in Pro:
Melia
Nia
Miyabi
Masha
Ashera
Fiona
All the others are fine, but these are the best ones.
Elemental damage is insane what are you on about? By releasing multiple elementals, you can hit close to damage cap multiple times and potentially inflict Toxin that can counteract some bosses regen
In what world is Ashera face tank? She primarily has Evasion and low defensive stats. She’s meant to maintain aggro by attacking with large damage and avoid attacks. Her only issue is because her base stats are low, when she gets hit she takes a lot of damage. Ino is also the best tank by far as she is incredibly difficult to take down due to her evasion and self-recovery + she has the best break art in the game.

Elemental damage is not insane, normally.
It is the hero that makes it viable.
On other characters, Royal Summoner is bad. (except the talent art because it basically ohkos anything as long as you have at least 1 elemental summoned).
The hero makes the damage good with her Chain Order which is the same as Eunie’s, and her Heroic Chain, which doesn’t activate the order if she goes over 99%.
Ashera is a face tank because she literally has an art called Eye of the Storm where she stands still and spins her blade around, drawing aggro to her. This art lasts a while.
Also, compare this to an actual dodge tank, like Zephyr.
Zephyr has arts that actually let it evade attacks, and skills that benefit evading.
So does Noponic Champion.
Lone Exile doesn’t.
And that would be my proof that Lone Exile is a face tank.
Edit: Don’t say Miyabi is bad. She is not bad or unviable. You are just biased towards healers that actually heal, because Miyabi doesn’t. She’s more of a support than a healer, like Fiona.
Also you should know I used all the heroes I listed, together in the same run.
Elemental damage is great end of and its just one part that makes Melia insane for this mode.
You cannot claim that Ashera is a Face Tank for that one art alone. Her main role is to avoid taking hits. This is such a hot take that I can't even. By this logic, martial artist is an evasion tank because they have 1 eveasion art (same for Incursor). I can't even, this debate is done
I am not biased, hence the reason that Fiona is top tier. Isurd is a great healer because he acts as both a support and healer as done Masha. Nia is entirely healing based whereas Fiona is completely Support based. Miyabi's main job isn't healing, granted but the support she provides is irrelevant for this mode due to the power of the Emblems. You quite literally don't need her on the team because they take care of EVERYTHING. I just can't...

I was never basing my claim that Lone Exile is a face tank on that alone; I have more evidence supporting it, which I’m putting down below:
Lone Exile actually has horrible Agility, worse than the actual agility tanks. From her skills, it’s implied she’s meant to be tanking via damage reduction. It’s just that Enel essentially turned her into (evasion tank) Mythra 2.0
Yes, Enel did do that. He put the arts from Incursor and Martial Artist with 400% power multiplier and guaranteed evade on Lone Exile.

What emblems? The Curse emblems or others? I never bought the emblems you speak of, because 1. I didn’t need them with the build I have (which can OHKo everything, it’s Element Genesis Capable Hands Seraph, with Gust Bracelet as an accessory) and 2. I had Miyabi in the team. Sure, I didn’t need her, but I was going for maxing out Agnian Zeal/Prosperity.
I couldn’t afford to get Cammuravi or Alexandria since they take the aggro from my tank, while Isurd, Juniper, and the Nopon pair weren’t that great to me.
I looked at the amount of debuffs Isurd applies and went: “Nope! Debuffs are impossible to stick unless I get the emblems which I didn’t, so no Isurd for me. Plus I already have Nia and Masha.”
Juniper’s class is trash, and the Nopon pair’s class is underwhelming unless player-controlled.
So you see why I used Miyabi.
It was simply to fill out the last slot for Agnian Prosperity/Zeal.
