Great Move 💯 SC: Don't Pay This Cat Anything, Way Too Much 💰, For A One Season Rental , Let Him Go Elsewhere
It is not about the school anymore. It's about 7 digit figures
Guess we will have to do it the old fashion way with the DL and coach up the young men that we do have...
I think we need a NT bad but I don’t think we should be paying $1.5m for one. Last year we offered Fiske $400k and that was his highest offer. Let’s get some decent big bodies who can take up space and save money for the 2025 class.
Yesterday’s price isn’t today’s price. Market has changed. Fiske would be going for Harmon level money if it was this year
By contrast, Oregon interior D-line portal pick-ups:
Jamaree Caldwell: 6'1" - 325
Derrick Harmon: 6'5" - 320
I don’t get my hopes up anymore when it comes to the transfer portal.
I'm with you our NIL is horrible
@@fredtheveteran4623competing against Oregon which has unlimited money
We’re gonna need bigger bags
Is anyone sure it’s a lack of money and not an unwillingness to overpay? Give a DL a million, and he comes up lame or lazy. The coaches must bet on what they see and feel good about it. They know the dirt, while fans know nothing. We are just hungry. ‘24 will be a good year, ‘25 better.✌️
You’re right, but Oregon doesn’t have that problem which is why we aren’t going to be able to be with him in the long
Keep crying on and wonder why kids don’t want to play for your ancient has been program. Claim money all you want but sometimes a kid doesn’t want to stay in south central or play for Lincoln Riley.
@@SuperJuggerNogcry on. You wish Eugene had even a quarter of the history that South Central has
@@AnthonyS1750 keep playing the history card, look who cares about that. Oh wait recruits don’t give a shit about your history which is evident why you can barely recruit. You can’t even recruit your own backyard, everyone else comes in and takes it hahahaha
I’m not worried. I didn’t expect every problem to be fixed in one off season. As long as this staff sticks around at least 3 years and a few recruiting cycles I think we’ll be solid. This stuff takes time, patience, and development. Lincoln Riley even said himself that he wants to focus on traditional recruiting and development rather than relying on the portal. For now just need to trust the process and come to conclusions in time.
Can’t believe Oregon got him really pissed tbh
There still few D linemen in the transfer portal even a couple from Oregon SC could look if they can find a helpful booster or two
With NIL and the loses of the NCAA in court, scholarships counts are now meaningless. Just make a deal with players to take them off scholorship and pay them with NIL money. Better get used to the schools with deepest pockets having the best rosters. Therefore, if USC has a NIL money problem (they shouldn't), better get somebody who can fix it.
Watch And See: USC Coaches They Are Going To Figure This Out, Be Patient ✌️
dont forget: "we;re close" and "nature of the beast"
It’s not the USC coaches. It’s the boosters and the collectives that don’t want to pay high dollars for lineman for some reason.
@@sector783 They are playing it smart, team has invested in the best coaches; bringing in reasonably priced talent and coaching it up is the smartest move.
In my un-solicited Unqualified opinion.
Sure! Ok! 😂😂😂 Even great coaches can only squeeze so much juice out of a lemon 🍋
@@user-qu4ey5yy3f reality of today’s game: you’re gonna pay. You either going to pony up and pay that NIL, Or pay in lost games. SC chooses the latter.
The coaches know what they’re doing, and if you’re a true Trojan you trust what they’re doing. Everybody needs to relax and stop showing desperation. Fight on ✌️✌️
Let's take a chill pill fellow fan, coaches got this.
The coaches obviously wanted the kid, its the NIL thats failing them. Having honest objectivity doesn’t make someone less of a true trojan. So if someone criticized Helton, they weren’t a true trojan?
I think usc is in a much better spot than last year. People are forgetting USC was not even a top 100 defense last year and they played a lot of 275lb interor D-linemen. Only Bear and Barrs were 300ish and up. Also i think Lucas can play DT if they want him to. He was in the 290s last spring before coaches had him cut to 260ish
Yea Lucas got grinched,,,.
Teams will double team Bear again and then expose the soft spot interior the Trojans have due to lack of depth. The season is too long to hide that.
If we only needed one NT I would say yes this is bad. But the fact is if we dropped $2 mil on one person it would make it hard to get the 2-3 NT players we need to build depth. I assume LR and company are going to go get a few different interior d players and coach them up well.
This is prove it year for the defense to see if they improve. If they can improve to 60th in overall defense, recruits and transfers will buy into what they’re building defensively. It would have been nice to add a few more big uglies on the defensive line, let’s see what the coaches can do with what they have. Kids go to the schools that are built for success. And let’s keep it a buck, that has been the case at USC or with coach Riley.
Thanks for being honest 💯
Have not upgraded or added depth to OL and IDL is on a thin line. Inexcusable they have not addressed their biggest needs. I am really not surprised though. SC always in one way another continually shoots itself in the foot. I see another 7-5 season, 8-4 at best.
I understand the outrage but what school has every position on lock ? It’s going to be something you lack in football, no perfect teams.
That’s where coaching and compensation in other areas have to be maximized.
Personally, I like the stance of not overpaying and taking the buying sensibly approach. Bring 2 300+lb D-linemen, coach them up along with Ratumana and Carlon and we should be good on that front.
Add Foster move Monheim and Voila!
Just understand, if USC isn't paying... its so somebody can keep the cash for themselves @USC (they have the revenue). The teams who pay the players will end up being the teams who win.
@@trevorwesterdahl6245 Oregon has been overtly paying since day memorial, how many championships pieces on her walls??
Sensibility is always the wiser option in all endeavors.
@trevorwesterdahl6245 not true. Oregon is the prime example. Uncle Phil is constantly passing out bags and the program STILL has no championship to show for ALL the $$ spent on NIL.
USC's new defensive staff knows what they're doing. It's their first season together. Takes time to build. There's no quick easy fixes. RELAX Trojan faithful. ✌🏾🗡
@@BangTheGavel1911While I agree , Oregon hasn't won s***, they have been steady stacking their roster with all the defensive players they got in the '24 cycle(Breland, Johnson, Fields, Rushing)and now this spring portal. Last portal was strong as well. That money thrown about is working and we're falling way behind in recruiting especially locally here for the elite talent. We have an uphill battle from now on. Doesn't matter if they haven't won anything up to this point I hate to admit.
@@USC.55 The coaching of the D squad should restore SC in the eyes of recruits. We will be just fine, you'll see.
How about Carlon Jones? I know he’s an incoming Freshman, but rumor has it he’s close to 300 lbs now. Can he be an immediate contributor?
Here are some prospects:
1. Jay’Viar Suggs, 6’3” 295 lbs from Grand Valley State. Had a more impressive offer list than Lole and Daminic Williams. USC has already made an offer.
2. Brandon Lane, 6’3 300 from Stephen F Austin. Committed to MSU, but decomitted recently.
3. Ben Roberts, 6’2” 310 from Oregon Ducks. Had a great Spring Game, potential difference maker.
4. Johnny Bowens, 6’3” 290 Oregon Ducks.
5. Ru’Quan Buckley, 6’5” 295 from Nebraska. Former OL, but can go back to DL.
6. Danny Saili, 6’3” 355 BYU. Mostly a big body that takes space.
Also,
I’m hearing we need the money for the 2025 class. Thoughts?
I expect two or perhaps 3 of these economy monsters to become Trojans these next few days.
Carlon is 305lbs, Ratumana, remember that 260lb weakling? buoy's 295lbs now.
Carlon and Ratumana will not be red-shirt candidates; No sir, them buois gon play!
Wiley been feeding them buois through the phone for months! Hell, only Amos is bigger than Treter and the buoy ain't hit Trojan grounds yet.
You are spot on. So, how do we make lemonade on the DLine? Play more run prevent?
If Henny and Nua can develop like we think they can, then just get any big body and let them coach them up. We don’t really need proven guys who cost too much. Get guys who are 6’2 or taller and 310+ lbs
Yeah that's not how it works lol
Remember, Aaron Darnold is 6’1”, 280lbs.✌️
So glad you are being honest on your assessment on USC's portal. Way too much sunshine pumping on another channel. Almost denying there is a dire need on the DL and not acknowledging the local talent going elsewhere is a problem. My main concern is will not having a positive season due to a line depth weakness cause our top '25 recruits to second guess us and not sign. Top players always want to go with the top teams.
Appreciate it brother 🫡
Our D-line might be no better than what you’d find on a G5 team, but I would have taken a G5 defensive line last year over what we had.
They’re just simply pitiful .. G Fight On ✌🏽
Sorry you just can’t seem to get it. Usc is not simply ia football team kind of masquerade as an anniversary like Oregon. You’re not gonna spend 800,000 million or even 3 million yeah get a nose tackle . Knight on the other hand drawing to spend seven figures just to by subtracting from USC. It’s not clear with this guy will be at Oregon but he wanted to be thousands of dollars richer than he would be at usc need to face the fact that we aren’t going to be interested willing or able to compete this crazy level of an IOL with schools that are masquerading academic institutions. The day of reckoning is coming it may take a decade till the NCAA AAA dissolves and IL is rationalized and UC has the declared university semi pro team. We all look back up these past few months as the end of an era.
There will always be surprises. I don’t see the worth of giving these guys this kind of money
DT Suggs visited (cool). Suggs: not a true NT. Ex-Liberty LT visited (bet) & ex-Tenn LB Baron(sp?) visited (gr8). Entering USC's '25 cfb season, will coaches Lynn & "Henny" be retained?
Probably all the protests driving away recruits right now unfortunately. Sc isn’t that school of the Keyshawn Johnson days anymore ✌️
From what I understand House of Victory is the one holding the checkbook. They decide who and what NIL deal they are going to play a player. From what I understand, USC’s coaching staff has no say so in this matter. They recruit the players then, the players agent or representative meets with HOV and it’s out of the coaches hands. HOV is unwilling to pay proven players or as they call them “Mercenaries” $1,000,000 for one season. I ask you, don’t you think USC boosters and alumn have donated probably millions and millions of dollars to HOV. So giving a Mil, for a needed player, is nothing to HOV or to our boosters. USC lost two kids from Southern California, both DT’s to Oklahoma and HOV didn’t offer them a dime. Both could have solidified the DT position for USC. When Bear jumped into the portal this past spring, what did HOV give him to stay? I’m going to be real right now, Bear Alexander is not worth one million dollars. He’s mediocre if not below mediocre talent. Look at his stats for the past two years, what has he done? Oh I know, he played at National Championship Georgia that’s it. His production is ZERO! So if you’re going to pay millions of dollars for mediocre talent, then you better throw $2,000,000 at Barron from Tennessee plus an apartment on the beach and whatever else he wants. Plus give the DT from Kent State and Grand Valley State whatever they want to sign right NOW!!! HOV we need these three players, if it cost several million go get them, before they get stolen once again. These other schools don’t need scholarship players, Oregon is over 120, Colorado is over 125, Oklahoma is somewhere around 110, they are doing this to screw USC. Each one of these teams is going to have to cut 35-40 players come late August, what’s going to happen to those kids? HOV needs to step and do the right thing or, this off season was all for not, just because they won’t do a huge NIL for one position.
I rather they use the money to ensure Justus Terry & Isiah Gibson don’t get flipped from the 2025 class. High School recruiting > Transfer portal
" So if you’re going to pay millions of dollars for mediocre talent, then you better throw $2,000,000 at Barron from Tennessee plus an apartment on the beach and whatever else he wants. Plus give the DT from Kent State and Grand Valley State whatever they want to sign right NOW!!!"
You must be one of the master minds from Sacramento, hey the minimum wage per hour you secured barely buys a loaf of bread now. Jack it up to $40 an hour!
I'm extremely happy you're not running SC's NIL system.
@@Drummajortsu A big question is will they stay committed if USC has a mediocre or even sub par season? I doubt they will. They committed on the appearance USC was trading upwards and it was smart to jump on. Both our lines are average at best . That's not good heading into the B1G.
Wondering if Talalele can be crossed over?
Look man, it’s going to take some time! So many people want immediate gratification, even with the portal!
We just want an above average interior lineman, that shouldn’t be too much to ask!
Why does the NCAA let Oregon keep bidding on players when they are over the allotment of 85 players?
Because, if you know the rules, you are allowed to be over 85 at this time of year.
Most d1 schools have 100+ players on their rosters. Redshirts, walk-ons, non-scholarship players. There's no hard limit, but they can only have 85 players on scholarship. Some conferences set limits on how many players can travel, but that's the extent of the true limit.
You can't have more than 85 players on scholarship, so now they can start cutting their own players that they don't like.
USC is a blue blood by name. Haven't been a consistent winning program in over 15 years when Pete was the coach.
Big 10 and championship football is all about the trenches on both sides of the ball, something we saw Stanford do at their peak in the pac12. Until we address these needs we are gonna get pushed around and dominated. Right now, we’ll probably finish 6th or 7th in the Big 10, and way outside the top 25. Hard to fathom such mediocrity could linger even with the staff assembled.
Gabe, even though you are right on the money, I still believe 10-2 is our reachable goal. We can also make CFPs. Fight On! Angel USC'78

The question is, why doesn't U$C have _the bag?_ Why? They do not lack for wealthy alumni.

I think the issue for you guys is Licoln Riley. Your new D staff is going to have to coach pest the perception of Riley being soft on defense. Once your staff shows marked improvements......Your brand will draw the players you need.
Ben Roberts is available in the transfer portal. He's a solid nt, and we could get several players like him in the rotation from the Group of 5 level.
It's crazy at what college football has become.
Fight On! ✌
Yes we need help on the dline
Did not alabama have a star DT a few years ago that was around 290lbs ?
D’Anton Lynn wants bigger guys. Other sizes can work but that’s what he values
The Agents are calling the shots. The players want the bag and they dont give a crap about education it seems. We cant win the negotiations against uncle Phil and thats a FACT. So we will need to get big players and coach them up. Period. I dont think there is any other option. Thankfully we have the coaches that can do a great job.
What SC needs is MONEY HONEY 💲💲💲
Nope, usc need to win to gain player and uniform plus NiL money.
Yeah it's all about the money in the portal it's not about development they want money it's definitely sucks. I agree with u we lack upfront on Dee it is biggest need.
I will not hear this talk about Bear getting injured.. I don't have time for this nonsense; I have sunshine to pump!
The staff isn’t failing. Our NIL is. The boosters don’t trust the nerd who runs HOV. Remember, he wanted half of all money donated until the backlash came.
I want Versatile O-Linemen. The offense is our bread and butter. The B18 is not a QB-heavy league this year. Moreover, we might have the best secondary in the B18. It was fun seeing some defense in the scrimmage. Have some faith. 😉✌️
At this point I’m praying to god there’s someone already on the roster that has/will break out and become great
I feel your frustration, but you predicted USC to lose to Louisville. Trust the process.
Time to move Amos Talalele to NT.
I totally appreciate the players gaining access to the NIL that is rightfully theirs and the control over their careers that the Tranfer Portal provides. There are however major reasons that three of the four major sports leagues operate under a salary cap rule. One major reason was to keep billionaire owners from ruining the leagues. Phil Knight and the Oregon football program will do exactly that to collegiate sports if allowed to go on un- checked. That said I played football from the age of 6 to the age of 23 . I lived football and was a damn good 310 NG , LR was right because you can count me in as one of those 100 that as a high senior stood in line waiting on a USC offer that didnt come. I am not upset that USC did not get hustled into paying guys that are mid level talent and day two or even day three NFL Draft level guys $800,000 to $1,200,000 a year if reports are correct. There are a few guys left in the Portal that can help and that along with slowly rotating in the freshmen will work for this year. FIGHT ON ✌✌✌✌
Go Ducks!
@@puddles1458 LOL The truth hurts!
Any OL buried on the depth chart who have the right size and played NT in HS? Probably need to move someone there and get current DLs to bulk up as much as possible. They have 100 days to bulk up and hit the weights.
Dam desperation
They were going to add to the dlinemen no matter what for depth.
Who
But it is about the money USC won’t match what Oregon is going to pay
Why won't they?
Who here truly knows if our NIL is bad or good? Since it’s now Pay-for-Play, the coaches are calling the shots. I doubt their hands are tied. The players are playing each team against each other. At some point, you say… you’re not worth it; we’re out! ✌️
He doesn’t know Harmon is a top 3 round draft pick😲
He’s not
@@TheTrojanBlade bro still don’t know 😭🙏
Pool whatever money is left in SC’s NIL and go get one NT. Would rather have one difference maker than losing out on all the free agents in the NIL.
I rather they use the money to ensure Justus Terry & Isiah Gibson don’t get flipped from the 2025 class. High School recruiting > Transfer portal
@@Drummajortsu I’m assuming they already set aside enough money to keep them locked in.
Some how Utah always seemed to field pretty good defensive teams using 3 stars or unrated players…with the coaches we have now, I see no reason why we can’t as well. Michigan is rebuilding so not sure how good they will be but, Ohio State and Oregon are the teams that I am really worried about at this point. Some of these portal players may weigh 325 lbs, but are they any good, or are they just big? Gabe keep up the good work, I always enjoy your videos! FTFO
I agree that we need help on the DL but let’s not get desperate and overpay someone who could only be marginally better than what’s Available. Hey but at this point we will roll with what u got

Can someone tell me why is Elijah Griffin taking soo long to commit to USC??? 🤦♂️
Oregon bound.
My guess is he is waiting to see how the team plays this season
imagine being more broke thatn OU LOL
It may not be about being broke but not seeing the value some are demanding. I’d instead invest in players we can grow ourselves. Let the more desperate pay the exorbitant amounts.✌️
It's the Oregon effect. Their coaches seem to have a blank check when it comes to recruiting.

With your 1 year rental @ qb in dillon gabriel, your overrated ducks will hope to go 4-8. Oregon fans are so delusional. You would swear the way these clown duck fans brag, they have 3-4 national championships under their belts. 😂
Stop worrying about USC. We'll have another national championship and Heisman trophy before y'all ever get your first. 🤣🤣🤣

Prepare yourselves for a very rough year in the B1G.
Completely agree, you are spot on as usual. We all remember Riley saying , hey this is usc , for every one guy that enters transfer portal at SC there are 100 other players that are waiting to come here.
Well where the hell are they?? I think Riley was caught flat footed in trying to keep players at USC and was too arogant to try to do anything to get those players to stay. Apparently no one wants to play defense for a team that was ranked last in the FBS no matter who your coaches are. Riley should have fired Grinch a year earlier and we would not have had this problem.
Riley should never have brought Grinch with him. Period
Failure? What failure? If players want money, let them chase money. USC is a Top 5 institution. If players don't want to get an elite level degree whilst spending 6 years playing football, let them crash & burn on their own terms. What makes USC elite is the unwillingness to play by the rules of ordinary bidding wars in order to field a team. How many National Championships does Oregon have? They have ONE major donor, nice facilities & deep pockets, but an institutional endowment & educational prestige that doesn't compare to USC. If players don't want to come to USC, we don't fucking want them.
Thank you for keeping it 100 as usual and not blindly carrying the Pom poms like every other usc channel. The defensive line was a must get before the portal and then we lost Raikes and other DT’s making even more critical. College football is now a business and you need to run it like one… with the amount of money that the school makes off of football there’s no excuse not to pay these players to fill the roster. Every other team competing for a title are spending except for USC. We going after D2 tackles now. This coming season will be a wash.
I remember when USC fans were nothing but “no one will be able to compete with us on NIL”. Now it’s a different tune. Maybe these guys just didn’t like USC? What a concept.
Get back to basics. Old SC football players and playing. Get them disciplined
Oregon is 1 over the scholarship limit.... y'all are missing in more than just recruiting and you have no excuses
No unproven bag chaser cfb player is worth that much, this isn't the NFL cfb is ruined need a salary cap fosho
Enjoy not being good at CFB.
Oregon is over there allotment of scholarship players, what happens to those players?
Only by like 1 player. Might be NIL scholarship.
They'll Weed Them Out 😮

Play with what you have, if this coaching staff is so good then do your job and teach. I wish I was 6'ft 180 lbs and run the 40 in 4.3. Please quit whining !
lol SC suckkksssss
Focus on holding on to the 2025 DL prospects that’s where the 💰 should go. Can't lose those 5 & 4 stars to Oregon or UGA.
This year is a proof of concept. If USC wins 9 games and has a top 50 defense the players will roll in. The goal is to be all steam ahead on 2026 season in the Big 10.
This roster now winning 9 games 😂😂
@@cartersports1 I hope so! Schedule is tough as fuck LSU Michigan, Wisconsin, Penn State all in the first 6 weeks. Being 4-2 would be a blessing.
