I sent a large stamped envelope with a stamped return addressed envelope inside to the last address i could find, it was at least last summer, but never got a reply, I was just asking for her autograph if it was OK, but mostly just wrote a nice letter letting her know how many fans she has out here still. She is timeless. I would sure appreciate if you could get a message to her for me. Thanks so much, Dave
jean porter passed away january 13 2018. i loved this movie & all the actors. it must have been interesting to be in her company & hear all those hollywood stories.
Gigny, thank you so much for posting this dance. It's my favorite swing dance in a movie. Jean Porter is a fabulous dancer and Guy, well even if Guy just stood there not moving at all he would still be fabulous! I love this type of dance although I can never tell if its the Lindy Hop, or the Boogie-Woogie or one of the Shags. Such a shame that this excellent movie isn't out on DVD.
Last year I wrote her a letter to tell that me and my Lindy Hop class were doing a routine based on this sequence, her daughter Rebecca replied to me she was in hospital under intensive care. A so gentle person...
Jean Porter made mostly B films but she was very talented and, obviously, very cute and a good actress! She married a famous director and remained a big part of the film community. Guy Madison, himself a fine actor, could (as you can see) barely dance but Porter made sure he looked good. My favorite film of Jean's is the barely-known "G.I. Jane."
@@DouglasUrantia Your link does lead to Feet Draggin' Blues, but that rather turgid tune is completely different to the number on the jukebox that they dance to in the film.
Jean Porter was great. Guy Madison's dancing was dreadful, however with his looks and other attributes, who cares about dancing skills! Love the movie.

First time seeing this clip. Definitely Lindy Hop.
Considering how green Guy was, I think his dancing is like his acting - not the best, but fully committed & entertaining to watch.
