I went on a shopping rampage and spent a little over $1000 on makeup at Sephora! I was curious to try some new makeup launches and see if these new beauty products were as incredible as they were rated. I purchased a full face of makeup. Everything from face foundation to mascara, eyeliner, brow products, lip liner, and several shades of lipstick. Seriously, I went a little crazy on the lipstick! Some of these products turned out to be quite beautiful while others left me scratching my head and frustrated.

Sometimes I watch black and white classic films with actresses like Hedy Lamar and Audrey Hepburn, you know they didn’t have anywhere near the skin care options we have now, and their skin is flawless. It makes me wonder if simple moisturizer and clean cleansers is really all we need ❤️
I agree. Sometimes I am putting 3 or 4 things on my face and think why. Just cleanse and use moisturizer. No matter the claims they aren’t going to really eliminate any of my wrinkles, maybe diminish very slightly but not enough to justify spending the money and loading my face with products. My mom used the original oil of Olay and had very nice skin. Sometimes I chuck everything and go back to the OG.

def!!! i'm a big fan of lauren bacall & audrey hepburn myself ~ v talented, smart, & gorgeous ladies!!! but i do think there are other factors to add in like foods available, their personal diets, pollution, & the environment in general??? just like those effect us!!!
The difference in how the makeup looks from the studio to natural light is uncanny. Looks beautiful in both but that natural light loves you girl.

Same! 🤣 I honestly don't understand why someone would pay £30+ for a foundation when you can get one for less than half that price which will do exactly the same job and be just as good?
I just bought a Beauty Bay 'Age of Opulence' eyeshadow palette for £15. It has 24 shades, matte, metallic and shimmers which have massive colour payoff, they're so pigmented - specifically with these purples and teals that are so incredibly intense - honestly it's fantastic. I've seen beauty UA-camrs spend more than that amount on a single lipstick or an eyeshadow quad and it just seems crazy to me.
@@Littlewings1211 I agree. I have used the same foundation forever it's physicians formula the healthy foundation it's like $13 it works amazing and a quarter of the price of some of the stuff the beauty UA-camrs use. I can't imagine paying $50 for makeup that does the same thing.
@@crystalammons7907 I thought the Healthy foundation was discontinued. Many you tubers loved it but mentioned that it was discontinued a while back.

Tbh I struggle with face products because I am so pale and have combination skin but I am currently using the Revlon Photoready, Candid, Natural Finish, Anti-pollution foundation which I am really enjoying. It's one of those that is medium coverage but looks like natural skin and you don't need to use a lot if you don't need much coverage. I basically use it like a CC cream. It looks absolutely stunning. I also want to try The Ordinary's serum foundation as that is meant to be amazing and is really inexpensive.

I have never commented on a video before but I thought the negative comments were unfair. Videos that review products help us make more informed decisions so there is less likelihood of us buying things we don’t want.
And why can't we be happy for good people being successful, instead of bitchy Barbaras trying to spread misery? I definitely can't afford $38 lipsticks, but that doesn't mean I don't want anyone else to be able to.
@@Massie82 spot on Kelly. Milabu has a glamorous job and lifestyle that lots of people would envy. She is very watchable, beautiful, eloquent and clever and deserves every good thing she has.

Ignore the negative comments!! People have no problem with athletes getting million dollar contracts! Actors and actresses getting paid millions. You are an entertainer same as an athlete or an actress. You are doing your job. No one talks about starving children when their favorite quarterback gets a 5 million dollar contract!! I hardly think she really cares on all the negative comments because she never responds to anyone when they ask a question and I’ve never seen her give a ❤️ to anyone either in recognition of them liking and commenting on her videos, not even on your comment for sticking up for her. I’m only here to read the comments Lol 😂 because I find it interesting how these UA-camrs who have over a million subscribers treat their subscribers and support them and get nothing in return, I much prefer to watch actual makeup artists and those that don’t have a huge following because they’ll always respond to you Not like Milani. Milana, please disregard all the negative feedback you have gotten on different platforms for this video. The majority of us are barely keeping our families fed and so some people are taking this wrong because they feel sensitive about it right now. Which I do understand as someone who struggles financially, HOWEVER, this is your JOB. You are supposed to do things like this to give us information on makeup. You are most definitely blessed of course , thank God for that! I just don't want any negative feedback to upset you or disuade you from these kinds of videos. This is your business, so you put out 1k dollar but you make more back from your sales and so it keeps getting reinvested. It's hard to fathom those things when all your bills are past due. I'm in that boat too, however I greatly appreciate these videos as a makeup lover. I also appreciate your kindness and your family dynamics. May God keep blessing you.
I don’t think she cares what other people write in the comments and even what you wrote, I’ve never seen her respond to anyone on her channel, so it makes me wonder whether she even reads the comments, probably Not. If you go back to when she used to do hair tutorials she would have a lot more views on those videos compared to these makeup videos, personally I think she should stick to hair and leave the makeup to the actual makeup artists on UA-cam, and as far as the money she spent, Who Cares….Really.
@@-nellie-m3711 I don’t think there’s anything wrong with her doing makeup videos. She’s better at it than a lot of others I watch. There are only so many videos a person can do about hair and she has probably done them all. I started watching her for those too, but I’m sure it’s hard coming up with a new idea everytime. There will always be new makeup🤷♀️

Important to remember that she returns a lot of the stuff she tries, plus brands pay her to go and get their makeup and review it on her channel. It’s not like it’s 1,000 completely out of her own pocket.
@@chrae1037 exactly. It's not like the average person dropping $1k on makeup. Making UA-cam videos is a business. Whatever money she makes, she spends on products for future videos. It doesn't hurt to have occasional sponsorship and receive PR as a bonus.
Also this. Is her job and I am sure she returns items she doesn’t care for, I know I do. Also for tax purposes I am sure there is something used for items she purchases related to her business.

@@jackib8113 you must not be from the US. Every retailer here has a return policy on makeup, and it can certainly be returned.

I have the same issue with the e.l.f 16hr camo concealer as you did with the foundation - it dried so fast, I'd put a little dot under my inner corner, reseal the cap on the concealer and grab my brush and it would be completely dried and impossible to blend out. I am going to try both with a primer (I don't usually use a primer but I recently bought the Beauty Bay primer and setting mists set) and/or also maybe try to use a tiny dot of face serum to just blend the concealer out and see if I can work with it because I really don't want to waste it if I can avoid it.

Milana, is it just the lighting or is your contour/bronzer/blush much darker on the primed side? You have perfected the understated eye look, SO pretty. 🥰
It is. She mentioned how tacky the primer was, and I think it gripped the contour too much for her to blend it out well.
Love the lawless foundation I ordered a shade too light for me so I ordered a darker shade and I’ll be returning the other one. I have dry skin and I loved how it looked but I did work in sections
Yeah, sections are smart when you’re trying something new. It’s kind of crazy how she went in all over the face with a new foundation when you don’t know how it’s going to cover or how fast it will dry. I was literally cringing when she did that. Some foundations only require one pump or a couple drops. No one should slam a foundation after they went in too thick. It looked mask like to me but I think it was just bc the shade was too light.
I didn’t buy that foundation because the owner was on qvc and said it’s meant for oily skin . I have normal to combo

Good grief bad commenters what the heck did you expect when you tune into a makeup UA-cam video. So what she purchased 1k of products, this is business and she needs the products to review. Where in the video did she say you have to buy these. Maybe someone has thought of buying a product or two and wasn’t sure she brings to us how these products perform so we can decide if it’s worth it. I certainly wouldn’t think I need to rush out and buy every product. If you are offended then why the heck are you watching just so you can release your negativity. For those that commented why woman feel the need to have products to make them beautiful, non of your dang business why I want to wear makeup. I don’t wear it to define who I am but to enhance what I have. Also to cover things I don’t like not what other people may see. So please if you don’t want to spend money on makeup, don’t like to see other people buy, wear it, then start your own youtube channel. Also don’t preach to us by spending money on makeup others in the world could be fed with this money, you have no right to judge anyone nor do you know what anyone is supporting. I’m really trying to understand why people are so upset about how expensive all the products are. I thought you chose some awesome medium to high end items. Yeah you spent a lot in total but the individual costs were not as shocking as I expected. I mean you bought multiple shades in quite a few of these. Also I’ve found you definitely get what you pay for as far as products goes. Maybe others are judging the worth of higher end items without ever trying it. I’ve definitely found I really break even cost wise with quality products. Walmart makeup is not equal to Sephora trust me 😂😬. I use way less product with each use so they last so much longer and I spend so much less time and energy achieving the results I am looking for because they are better pigments and blend easier. I will also say I am not wealthy and definitely could not drop basically my rent payment on makeup like this but I definitely am not judging this video or upset by it. If I was I would just not watch it and keep scrolling. Makes me sad to see one persons blessed life negatively affecting others when they are coming from a negative place. I found this helpful and now I know the one or two things that I really want to try now. Thanks for saving me from lot of debate and possibly making the wrong choice!!! Much love!
Who likes the teardrop vs micro eyebrow pencil? What's the benefit of the teardrop? I don't understand
When you have very little brow hairs left due to
over plucking in the 90s, the tear drop shape fills them in faster. I don’t have all day to draw in each individual hair. I just go back in real quick with a brow brush to break up the lines and that makes them look like hairs. CT has the best pencils but I also love her brow gel.

I think it’s all relative to income but In guessing because she is self employed this comes off her gross income on her taxes as a business expense. You know the old saying you have to spend money to make money and she will make more than $1,000 off of this video. I do think the video is a bit of out of touch for her most of her subscribers.
@@waksdiane she has a million subscribers. There are probably quite a few that appreciate drugstore and high end reviews - even if it's just to reassure ourselves that there isn't a huge difference and we can be happy with the lower cost makeup.

Lots of people do but youtubers do it because it's their job. It's tax deductible as a business expense but even if it wasn't, it doesn't affect your life. There are probably things uou spend money on that some people would disagree with so you should start checking with everyone you know every time you do your budget so that people can weigh in on your choices x
This is such a bummer because it seems so wasteful and contributes to overconsuming and the climate crisis. People really need to shop way less, plus so much makeup contain microplastics

Sounds like you're getting out of your peoples' range. I don't even see the the difference between " cheap" and "way expensive". I liked your older videos of medium priced make up and hair videos. You're losing me.
She still does those videos. UA-cam is her job and there are only so many videos she can do featuring the same type of products before people get bored and unsubscribe anyway. There are people who save up to buy something nice and these kinds of reviews help just as much as the drugstore kinds.
If you can afford to spend $1000 at Sephora for a video, you are definitely making a mint off us, just for playing in makeup. Nice that you attempt a let's be friends approach, though at the end of the day, most friends don't make $$$$ off their friends. I’m glad that in this day and age you can go and spend $1000 on make up and wasn’t really worth it is there really a difference I think this was done in poor taste and making women feel inferior because they cannot afford $1000 thousand dollars is rent for some people putting a roof over their heads $1000 is keeping the lights on and keeping you warm or cool $1000 is months of being able to cook for your family very poor taste🤮👎🏼🤬
1. It’s her job and she’s not making anyone feel inferior just like I am an esthetician and use higher end skincare because it’s my job. Everyone has different struggles and going through different issues. Don’t judge her. When I was going through fertility treatments and my friends were having baby showered I didn’t get offended, and or felt it was in poor taste to invite me. Everyone struggles it’s just not always financially.
